“Good assessment day, bad after that.”

Written on: 10/01/2016 by kfTrevino232 (1 review written)

I never write reviews but feel like some truths about Pareto need to be shared as i honestly had an overall positive experience. I initially applied for a job online and got a call from a recruiter the next day. The recruiter was very friendly and I passed the telephone interview easily, all you have to do is make out that you are very driven and money motivated. He then more than prepared me for the assessment day, yes it is a long day but if your honestly right for the roles you'll get… Read Full Review

“All talk? ”

Written on: 08/06/2015 by Laurenkbrereton (1 review written)

I attended an assessment day in wilmslow over 4 weeks ago. The day was surprisiny very organised, everybody was extremely friendly and it wasn't too pressurising. A long day of presentations and group tasks, to be split into successful and unsuccessful candidates at the end of the day. I was successful and pareto approached me to then work for them. I was told I was one of three strongest candidates from the day and they wanted to know if I wanted to work for them before they passed my details… Read Full Review

“Good for Graduates wanting to get in entry-level sales”

Written on: 08/02/2015 by Willoughbytf231 (1 review written)

Who is this for? Most of the places Pareto will try to place you will be in entry-level cold calling roles. If you've never done cold calling it's like banging your head against a brick wall and getting paid every 50th brick. People who do well at this type of job are usually naturally extroverted, overly-chatty and have a lot of self-confidence. The assessment centre days are designed to pick these kinds of people out. Not everyone has these qualities and so not everyone will be selected… Read Full Review

“Training Corse was awful ”

Written on: 18/12/2014 by Gomezab158 (1 review written)

Very happy with the phone interview and the induction day. Yes it was a very, very long day and there were a lot of people that you looked at and thought "how did you get through the phone interview?". But still, it is a long and tedious day but to be fair to them, they did pick people that stood out and were good. They were very good at finding my a job, and constantly kept me in the loop. At this point I could not praise them enough. Now we come to the weeks long sales training course in… Read Full Review

“Assessment Necessary”

Written on: 23/06/2014 by Desiree222 (1 review written)

After attending the assessment and really disliking the whole process (especially after reading lots of negative reviews and hating the group tasks)I was very surprised to be successful. I wouldn't necessarily recommend the process - it was exhausting and you must be prepared for a lot of phonecalls and voicemails, HOWEVER, I am now in a very well paid job that I would never have access to without Pareto. They are able to put you in touch with clients that aren't advertised online, which means… Read Full Review

“Legit, Passable but what was next?”

Written on: 22/05/2014 by Adrienf189 (1 review written)

I applied to a job locally. Got many calls from them until I acted as the voicemail left said last chance to attend. Telephone interview was a bit easy to pass and general things anyone would say to make themselves get the assessment centre place. The assessment is as described above. I didn't do great in the 2 exercises with numbers or the moon challenge, but I made myself seem ALPHA in everything else and I passed. 30 phone calls from all different Pareto recruitment guys in the 1st… Read Full Review

“Give it a go...”

Written on: 28/11/2013

I attended the assessment day in Glasgow on the 19/11/13. Like a few others there I was sceptical after reading the majority of these reviews. With regards to content of the day I thought it was quite poor and a bit disorganised. Too much time was spent on the initial 'task' then we didn't even finish the group task. whilst everyone was going out to do their presentation, two of the recruitment consultants from Pareto (1 from Glasgow the other from Manchester office) talked through various… Read Full Review

“Got through assessment day - then what?”

Written on: 21/08/2013

I guess I was one of the lucky few who made I through the assessment day, however just like many of the other recruitment agencies out there I wasn't amazed by the service. I was put through to a number of positions via Pareto which is the great part, however collecting feedback post interview was a tall order and seemed to never happen unless really pushed. Some agents didn't even respond to emails or phonecalls. It seems recruitment agents only care if you get them the sale or in this case… Read Full Review

“Oracle Assessment day at Reading 2013”

Written on: 26/04/2013 by smks (1 review written)

I want to be very fair and balanced about this review although I did not get the job by the end of the day. For anyone who is unaware of who Pareto Law are. They recruit sales people for other companies. They have now extended to more technical based roles with Oracle based at the headquarters in Reading. I saw the advertisement on the Reed website but from what I heard from others is that they either got headhunted or asked to come along. There were also many others who applied through… Read Full Review

I agree with everything the above person has said and I had my assessment today. I did not get the job and ten few mins into the introduction I was going to walk out. I decided to stay and i knew from the group exercises i did not do to well. The group activities are like what you see at the apprentice there is a member of staff monitoring your progress and writing down everything you do. I thought i did well with the presentation.

However it was under 3 mins and it had to be three mins. so that is understandable. I did my research on the company before going and I was inclined to go, but one of the staff members kept ringing me and texting me and even wished me luck on the day. She was nice and kept me motivated. I will get my results on Tuesday.

I did not like some of the staff members working there and when I was called and asked questions about availablity one of the men asked what langages I could speak I am a pakistani and I told him I can speak pungabi he looked confused. Some of the staff members i did not like as there attititdue was not what i would expect. I looked up the company on facebook and noticed they go on holiday twice a year. There was no pakistani person in the company and I did not see alot of black people either. I like to work in a mulit cultural workplace. Im not saying there racist but it is yet to be seen that they hire a pakistani person or a person from another faith, apart from a few indians the workplace is majority of white people. The people that atttended were very nice. I am glad I didnt get the postion, as my heart is not in sales. If your a person that things money is be all and end all, then go for the postion but, bear in mind money its more of greed. A few people wanted to do this postion due to the salary. If you get the job the company give you a company car for a month only. ,

I much prefer a 9-5 job and have a social life as well as time for the gym. I also have a son so this postion would have not suited me. It has however made me realise what I want as a career and thats not a career in sales.

I attended the day also, yesterday. I agree with your comments generally. Although, the part were you mentioned that you only have a company car for a month is not true. If you had listened, they said that the leading employee of that particular month got to drive the company's brand new slr Mercedes. Just thought I would correct that mistake. Thanks.

“Only really worth it if actually want a career in sales”

Written on: 14/02/2013

I went to a pareto recruitment day in London after being contacted by them for a role I hadn't applied for but my CV matched and after having a fairly brief telephone interview. I was apprehensive at first as I live in the midlands and the recruitment day idea didn't appeal to me, particularly seen as it was for a job I hadn't even applied for but the recruiter assured me sales was a great role, that I had the right attributes etc and persuaded me to come down for the day. The day was a mixed… Read Full Review

“Post assessment day”

Written on: 09/12/2012

I found my dream job, only issue was I had to attend the Pareto assessment day to even apply. Just before the day, after speaking to an advisor, I found my job was gone, but they had another in store, and would recommend me as soon as I passed. The assessment day was hard, but I worked hard, and it paid off- I fully enjoyed the day, and even if I hadn't passed, it was a fantastic experience, really helped me to recognise that this was where my future lay - it really boosted my confidence. “4 Grad's with passion for cold calling- depends on...”

Written on: 29/05/2012 by justlooking12 (1 review written)

Attended a assesment centre in wilmslow yesterday, brilliant office in a moderately far out location. First thing you notice is the sheer volume of candidates who walk through the doors, day ran out of schedule because of the volume of candidates. Staff are very friendly and punctual. Firstly bring a lunch as they provide light refreshments being coffee, fruit and crisps. Initially you begin with 'self-introduction' which all concerns rapport building and ability to have a decent rapport with… Read Full Review

“Graduate: Going to the assessment day”

Written on: 28/04/2012

soooo, i'm a 4th year graduating in June this year and have had a similar experience to many who have written reviews on this and other review websites. I received a call from a girl at Pareto who was very enthusiastic and friendly, however I was left slightly confused about what was actually happening!! I had my telephone interview a few days after and was told I had been successful. I was over the moon because I had been given such flattering feedback(apparently I was only the second out of… Read Full Review

Hi, I just had a phone interview with them today and have been invited to their assessment day next week.

Were you successful? I'm quite a quietly spoken but confident person, and I'm a bit nervous after reading all the reviews that they only hire pushy, aggressive people. Just wondering if that was your experience? Also I have absolutely no idea what my greatest non-academic achievement is...!

“50/50”

Written on: 26/04/2012

As with any recruitment company there is the standard BS about figures, success and how they outshine all others. What is good about them is that they can get you a job. The thing that you should be aware of is that they will be phoning you all the time. Any time between 08:00 and 20:00 is good for them. They will also try to use you to get insider info on the company you get placed with, staff numbers, new vacancies etc... Biggest trick, they may tell you that the salary you were expecting… Read Full Review

“I am not a sales person, so you can trust what I write.”

Written on: 30/06/2011 by VFRnick (1 review written)

I would like to open with the fact that I was impressed with the service provided by Pareto, despite not being successful after attending the day I realised that I did not want to be a sales person, which was as good as getting a placement afterall. Sales can be extremely hard to switch from once your tied into it, as I have witnessed from many of my friends. Although I liked this company, you have to be realistic. I graduated with a 2.2 in Biomedical Science and had many discussions with my… Read Full Review

Totally true. Pareto are more about numbers than quality... the drop out rate and low employment rate of their "grads" show this.
Training center is noce, but its really a case of too many cheifs and not enough indians.
I'm glad i have left the company

How were you impressed by the service provided by Pareto? I have only heard how unprofessional they are and how they like to keep you hanging around.
