The Initial Reaction When You Arrive At Palm Club
The initial reaction when you arrive at Palm Club is Hula, Hula [Turkish for "Oh, my god."] It doesn't look much when you arrive [ after dropping people at the luxury hotels.] You soon realize not to judge a book by it's cover! It is in a quiet area no supermarkets only a small shop on site.
This is due to change in the future. The dolumus stops outside the door and is a lot more reliable and easier to use than English buses! The drivers are polite and will even wait for you to cross the road. The water parks are 5 minutes away and the best one is Aqua Fantasy. Kusadasi is literally 10 minutes away on a dolumus it is a nice ride and worth the visit, this is where the supermarket is the bus stops outside. The Castle restaurant was a nice place to eat and the food and presentation was equal to some top restaurants in England I'm sure. We have previously stayed in Marmaris and hated it we said we would never go to Turkey again. We are so glad we did and are already planning next years trip!

Hi Everyone, This Is Our Third Visit To The Kustur
Hi everyone, this is our third visit to the Kustur Club formerly the Tropicano Kuster Club. The Management team has completely changed this year so has the bar staff and the kitchen staff. There was one member of the animation team from last year.
Yet again we had a lovely holiday at the Kuster club and the hotel was full to capacity. In fact they were overbooked on a couple of occasions and some people had to wait several hours for their rooms. None of our group had that problem (JMC from Gatwick). The mixture of people at the hotel is English, Belgian, German, Dutch, Russian, Bulgarian, French and others. Most of the staff are friendly and courteous and wear smiley badges and will be helpful when approached. Some speak a little English. If there's any problems, the management team is always available to help, i.e with special needs/disability they may be able to help you get the right kind of room.
I felt the food and service in the first week of our visit was average (24th May) you used to be able to get you own wine from Barrels and your own drinks from the bar but now you have to sit down and wait to be served 15-20 mins in some cases. They employed more waiters the second week and the service got markedly better but my tip is to order a double round if you are thirsty. I still think it would reduce their work if they re-instated the wine barrels.
As stated in the earlier reviews the food is varied and there is something for everyone BUT the choice becomes less the later you eat. If you don't get to Dinner by 7:15 when the hotel is full you may find it hard to get a table outside and after 8:30 the amount of choice is reduced although the staff do their best to keep up. I am sure this will get better as the season moves on bearing in mind this is a new team still finding their way.
Sunbeds are plentiful and you can easily get a bed up to 11am. Earlier contributors have stated not to take beach towels but our towels were only changed on a 3 day basis and our room was cleaned and room towels changed daily. So if you have room in your case take them anyway. We did not have any issues at Turkish check in on our return with excess baggage but they did say at Gatwick that if we were over it would cost £4 per Kilo. It really annoyed me that JMC reduced the standard baggage allowance to 15kg this year. Surely they must realise that a standard case weighs about 6kg before you put clothes in it? If you agree with me on this and intend to write a review, please make your feelings felt as well.
The animation team were very friendly as usual, the programme starts with Aerobics and Minigolf at 10am. Then Shuffle board and Pool aerobics at 11am. Then pool game at 12noon finish for lunch at 12.30 to 2.15 during this time the water slides are switched off and it's quiet and relaxing around the large pool. The afternoon programme at 2.30 is Table tennis and Darts competition then water polo then Caf Game (see how far you can spit an ice cube) or could be Egg and spoon race or sack racing. Then Boule Or Petanc as they list it, followed by shooting, archery and beach volleyball. Again choices to suit all tastes.
The DJ was very good this year and plays all types of music not just Turkish music this starts at 11pm and goes on until 2am. The disco is situated near the Hera Bar and younger teenagers can go in but please make sure they are sensible or that they are supervised. The Havana Disco across the road is very good but is more lively at weekend and occasionally the foam if switched on and is 4 foot high on the dance floor. The road leading up to it is not very good but it is safe and the lighting has been improved. It is free entry but the drinks are not as cheap as last year, for example a tin of coke is 6TL a beer is 8TL and cocktails range from 10 to 15TL. That said this is cheap compared to English clubs and is well worth the experience, even if you only have one drink.
Take mosquito spray with you and buy a spray for your room whilst there and spray your exposed areas i.e arms and legs before you go out in the evening. The plug in machines are OK but the power goes off when you take your key fob out of the room and you cant remove the key from the fob as the pins on the ring have been welded together. If you are going for dinner at 7pm it can still be 30 degrees, so guys only take one pair of long trousers with you and get some long shorts or lightweight trousers for the evening. After 9pm in May/early June the temp can drop to 16 degrees so take a cardigan or a jumper. A lot of the complex is open air and is exposed to the elements unless you go to your room.
Off the complex you can go into Kusadasi 1.5TL on a Dolmus or 10TL in a taxi. If you want a nice meal away from the complex for a change, I can recommend Kings Place 50 yards on the left past the designer shops and where the large liners dock. The staff are very English friendly and the food is good and they will give you a free ride back to the hotel. They will even pick you up from the hotel if you want. On average a meal for 2 with a couple of drinks will cost about 15-20 pounds depending on choice and courses there is a kids corner with a Playstation and free internet access.
Selcuk market on a Saturday is worth a visit. It costs 2.5TL by Dolmus, look at the front of the Dolmus for Selcuk, You may have to wait for the second or third Dolmus to pick you up, because the radio each other back to collect other passengers further along. We waited about 15 minutes and then a taxi driver offered to take us for 20TL. So on this basis if you want to just be taken to the top gate of Ephesus, then it should be 20TL, as it is closer than Selcuk. ALWAYS agree a price before you step in a taxi if you are unsure of the cost! The market is on level ground and very little hassle journey time is about 25 minutes. The Market in Kusadasi is on Wednesday.
The journey time from Kuster Club to Izmir airport is just under 1 hour, much easier than Bodrum which is 2 hours and 15 minutes. We did not buy drinks or snacks at the airport this year, so cannot comment on the prices but the duty free price for Tobacco seems to have gone up (still cheaper than home though).
Top Tips
1. Agree prices for taxis before you use them if you don't know the price already.
2. Take Mosquito spray for body and buy room spray and spray before you go to dinner.
3. Sun lotion is not cheap on site take about 3 small bottles each for 2 weeks.
4. Take a supply of immodium or Diacalm or similar with you.
5. Stay Hydrated, if your drinking alcohol during the day have cup of water first.
6. Buy some cheap tight fitting white T-shirts for the kids for when they are in the pool to help prevent sunburn.
7. Waterwings or floats for young kids on the beach, it gets choppy about 2pm onwards.
8. Take cash in English and Turkish Lira and hire a safe deposit box €1.5 per day (33TL for 13 days)
9. On your final day if no courtesy room available use the Turkish bath to have a shower. You may be able to keep your room until 7pm but it will probably cost you 15pounds per person.
10. Get to dinner at 7pm for best choice and best tables.
All the best and have a good holiday.

The Palm Club Apartments We Are A Family Of 5
The Palm Club Apartments
We are a family of 5 and booked through Falcon for the Zinos Hotel Kusadasi (Kustur) in August 2004
My wife is partially disabled therefore this hotel with its unreal amount of steps was totally inappropriate from day one. A real downer and with no alternatives at the hotel we were forced to move to other accommodation.
And what luck we had! Opposite the Zinos is a little piece of heaven called the Palm Club. They are all apartments and we were lucky enough to get accommodation for our full two weeks stay.
IF ONLY we had found their web site earlier and we could have saved about 40 percent off our total holiday cost.
I think there are around 80 apartments on the complex and it is run by English and Turkish so every whim and fancy is well catered for. Whilst we were there I can honestly say we had no problems whatsoever and after coming to terms with losing our money with the Zinos, the Palm club was our saviour!
The apartments are very spacious, clean and the kitchen is well appointed. The kids had plenty to do and the nightly entertainment was superb. To our surprise, we received a Christmas hamper from them with a card to say they hope we will return to Turkey. Amazing! Not only will we be going to Turkey next season, we are planning a 4 week stay at the Palm Club.
Have to agree!
We came back last week after a allocate on arrival deal with First Choice
