“The computer 'slipped' !!?*??”

Written on: 05/04/2018

Received renewal quote, found one cheaper. Rang Post Office to cancel and they re-quoted so I decided to stay with them (was £35 cheaper than the original renewal quote and was easier to stay with them). Just noticed today my bank account has been debited with £28.55 more than the quote. Rang them and they said the computer had 'slipped' and it does this sometimes. Apologised and said I would receive my refund in 10 days - why 10 days I asked, because we have to wait for the money to come… Read Full Review

“Third party cover for price of fully comprehensive”

Written on: 04/06/2017 by Daniela465 (1 review written)

My car had a value of £300.00 The insurance quote was for £392.00 by the time that compusory and volentery excesses were taken into account, if i had had a accident, rather than postoffice insurance paying out, i would have owed them money. Not exactly the purpose of car insurance… Read Full Review

I was with the post office for three years, (mainly because i was too lazy to look around for more and the fact that payment would automatically come out of my account.)However i bought a new car this year and rang them to tell them,(thinking they would transfer details and charge me a bit extra to cover the new car untill the policy ran out, as i was told by my car dealer) No,after explaining the situation i was abruptly told the policy would be canceled and i would not be able to claim any… Read Full Review

Written on: 01/05/2010

Good price initially but creeps up sharply with each renewal and annoying as the policy is automatically renewed without your approval. However, this is in keeping with most lower cost insurers and you just have to keep shopping around each year as there is no reward for loyalty these days. Also heavy additional fee to pay if you change anything during the insured year so try not to… Read Full Review

Written on: 24/02/2010

Received my car insurance renewel quote from the Post Office, this was £220.
Did searches via two internet search engines, and amongst the lists were quotes from the Post Office which were CHEAPER than my renewel quote.

Went onto the Post Office insurance website, and filled in details to get a quote......came back at £182 !
Funnily enough, the reference number for the online quotation was the same number as my current policy number!

Phoned the renewel line, and said that I would renew, but… Read Full Review

hi, i work in insurance, just to make you aware not to ignore the letters you have received, as p/office have passed this debt onto CARS. which is a debt recovery agency, regardless of the error on the system, p/office will still see this as money owed. best just to pay it, and never use them again.

Written on: 05/10/2006 by fx2000 (1 review written)

I used the Post Office because they were offering a £50 money back voucher. They were actually using the same company as my previous suppler. Fully comp for my new MINI Cooper was £150.

Whilst insurance cover for the EEC is offered, it requires you to tell them the period required and countries to be visited. Being a free bird I like to just GO. Fair enough if they say a maximum of 30 days etc.

It pays to be a good driver of 45 years with NCB… Read Full Review
