I needed to change my mattress so went to the shop. It has three sales people but they were not very interested in helpin me. They were very nice people but I needed more help on finding a good mattress for me. Only one man came to help but then left me after showing me King size mattress. The price is quite good when compare other shops. I still need a mattress and so will try to go to another branch to see if it is better service there.

So on 28th December 2016 my husband and I decided that we needed a new bed and went to have a look in Bensons for Beds in Derby. We were encouraged to go on the comfort station so that we knew what sort of mattress would be good for us. We both came out at Level 3 (medium/firm) and were promptly shown 3 different types of mattress and settled on the Sealy Singapore Titanium Mattress. We knew we wanted an ottoman style bed base and chose one because it came in flat pack and told the lady in the store that we were choosing it due to the fact that we would struggle to get a normal bed base up the stairs (of which we have 2 sets). So that to me should have set the alarm bells ringing and I think there and there we should have been offered the option of a Zip and Link mattress rather than the full size Super king mattress which we have been told should not be squashed or bent. However we did a good deal and arranged a delivery date of 16th January 2017 for the bed base and was told that Sealy would contact us directly to arrange delivery of the mattress. Almost 2 weeks after making the order I was contacted by Sealy who arranged delivery for 27th January. So 16th January came - I had a confirmation text message that the base would be delivered between 1pm and 6pm. At 5.45 pm I tried to telephone Customer Services as we hadn't had the delivery, they were closed! So I called the Derby store who said that there had been a problem but they WERE going to deliver the base TODAY. At 8.15pm the store Manager phoned me telling me that the bed base was at the store but the van had broken down and they would deliver it personally the next day - I had already waited in all afternoon on the prearranged delivery date and was not available until around 3pm the next day due to my work. I got a phone call at 1.30 pm the next day asking if they could drop off now - No! They will have to wait until I get home. I managed to get there for 2.45 pm and they were sitting outside waiting for me. So 27th January the Mattress delivery. Had a message about delivery time and although they were late the delivery guys did turn up. The mattress got stuck at the bottom of our stairs (bearing in mind that its a 6 ft mattress they can't bend or squash and the gap is just around 5 ft). The guys ask me to get some more people to help them deliver it (sorry that is not my job), it just so happened that my Husband was on his way home from work at that time. After some huffing and puffing it was decided that it was a failed delivery and they took the mattress away with them. The next morning (Sat 28th Jan) we went back to Bensons for Beds and they said that they could get a Zip and Link Mattress sorted out with Sealy but they would have to phone them on Monday (30th) to confirm and they would call me to let me know the outcome of that. No phone call!. I went back into the shop on Tuesday 31st January and they said that they could get the new mattress but it would cost another £295.00 - taking away all the discount that we had negotiated in the first place (all that money for a zip!). They couldn't print out the new invoice there and then because they were "having trouble" with their printer and they would send it to me in the post. I ended up going back in to get it over a week later. We went back in to Bensons on Saturday 18th February as we had heard nothing from Sealy about the delivery and for my husband to discuss with the manager why they had changed our credit agreement without us authorising it (something which we didn't really resolve) - they said that because when we repurchased the mattresses it wasn't a sale so therefore they had to charge us the full price. The Store Manager told us that he would contact us on the Monday at 11am to tell me when the mattresses would be delivered. This phone call did actually happen. Then I get a phone call from Sealy to arrange a delivery date of Saturday 4th March. So the delivery happens (finally) and the mattress is lovely (although a little warm) and we are sleeping so much better which is why I am giving this review a 3 star but I would not recommend my friends to go to Bensons for the customer service is way below par.

Chose our bed no problem., staff very informative and helpful. Delivery date quick. Problems came on delivery. Two young guys told me to sign a waiver in case they damaged my wall, then went on to point out that they could damage stairway, damage my lights, bend the mattress so that it didn't sit properly on the bed. When I informed them that if this was the case and that the mattress was bent and didn't sit on the bed properly it would be returned under the 40 day period they just laughed and said " Is that what they told you" When again they stressed possible damage to the lights I shouted to my husband who was in the garden to come and deal with them as they were threatening to break the lights. When they knew someone else was around they quickly pointed out that they weren't actually threatening to break them. Needless to say they received no tip from this household and in my opinion let Bensons down

Well our bed was supposed to come yesterday between 12pm -6pm it actually arrived at 8pm after 2 calls to store and 3 calls from the store. Our Son took our old bed to the tip yesterday as we couldn't store it but the guy at the store said ' I tell my customers not to get rid of their old bed in case the new one doesn't arrive' very good advert for Bensons I must say, what a stupid thing to say to someone waiting for a new Kingsize bed where did he expect us to store it ? It's very lucky we weren't going out because no one rang and said are you in, or sorry but we are running late, we were just expected to be there at 8 pm despite getting a text the day before telling us it would be here between 12-6 what a joke. I said to the men ' why haven't you got mobiles like other companies so you can ring the customer direct...they laughed and told us this was the norm and that they are always running late !! Before you order a bed just make sure you have your dinner...we didn't, make sure your going to be at home....we were and expect to making your new bed up at night time.

expect to pay up to £200 to install wardrobes. They are so heavy you could not self assemble yourself and Bensons charged me 20% of the cost of the wardrobe to assemble.

I placed 2 separate orders with bensons, one for a bed and headboard, which I'm quite happy with, and a second for bedroom furniture that I'm very unhappy with. Firstly the bed and headboard, the bed was not the same as the showroom model, not necessarily worse, they looked the same but we're not the same to lay on, and the reasoning of it needs time to settle doesn't ring true as we had slept in it every night for a month, that's far more use than a display unit would get in a year, and it still is harder. That being said though the customer service were superb and offered us just about anything they could to help resolve the issue. We ended up settling for what we had. Bensons customer service were nothing short of superb in both matters, and the bed is as good as I would have expected, just was different to the display model. The second order has been very bad. We ordered a complete 'signature' range bedroom set, looked very nice, seems good quality, which to be fair it is, and we've had 3 months to judge. However the supplier, Consort, are utterly utterly useless. The original unit arrived with minor damage, so they arranged to resolve this. First time they didn't send everything that needed replacing, annoying but not the end of the world, second time they send an empty truck, then a truck the wrong item, then a truck that can't take the damaged unit away. By this time I'm unwilling to take any more time off work for them to screw up again, so they agree to stick to a very strict delivery window in order that I shouldn't need to again. They ignore this completely and turn up 3 hours late by which time I've had enough and complain more formally. Again Bensons customer service were very good and compensated us accordingly. However they clearly are not demanding high enough standards from their suppliers, and because of this I would only recommend buying a product that is actually supplied by Bensons from them.

First the day of delivery got changed due to bad weather. When my bed frame arrived I had to invest in a drill as screw holes weren't pre drilled. Then halfway through construction discovered one side of the frame wasn't built properly resulting in the frame sitting at an angle and also had a screw pre fitted through the middle of a space for a different screw. Then upon opening the box to a nice set of side tables discovered shoddy workmanship, rough edges and a splint on both drawers! Not impressed atall, considering the amount of money I spent.

Waited in all day for my bed to be delivered today and no show. Rang head office to confirm still on for delivery but was told is 10th March now not the 4th as was totally advised in store and on the order confirmation. Sadly the store is shut for a refurb so cannot contact them. I was told was now a different order number. After we had ordered we left and within 5 mins the sales person was on the phone to confirm what colour base it was that we wanted and we said brown he apoligised and said he had put beige on the order but would get a brown. So maybe this is the reason he cancelled the first order and reissued but surely this would not have resulted in a 6 day delay. Feel totally let down and haven't even got the bed yet.

I have made 2 purchases from Bensons in the past 6 months and have been disappointed with both The first purchase was a trundle guest bed. A full size single bed with a second to pull out from underneath To my dismay when constructing the bed I found that the slatted support under the main bed was strung together with webbing and did not have individual separately secured slats which I had expected. The set cost nearly £500 which Is not, in my mind,a budget price Have recently bought a Silentnight double bed exclusively made for Bensons and describing itself as premium . It cost nearly £800 reduced from @ £1400 , I find it has no side handles ( didn't notice when choosing) but usually present on all double and larger beds. This makes the required regular turning extremely difficult as the mattress is very heavy and unwieldy to manhandle I do not propose to use Bensons again as I consider they are overpriced with overstated quality

I bought a wardrobe and two chests of drawers from your Store on Retail World at Gateshead. The young man who served me was very helpful and polite and I made my choice with his help. I placed my order and paid for the goods and they were delivered on 3rd June as promised. HOWEVER, there was a sting in the tail. Much to my surprise the wardrobe came as a flat pack and the delivery men were not instructed to build it. The young salesman never mentioned that it would be delivered as a flat pack and that I would have to build it myself. Unfortunately and am physically unable to do this and must find someone else to do it at my own expense. I have no complaints about the furniture, or the delivery service but please remind your people that they must tell customers they will receive a box of wood, not a fully functioning wardrobe.

We ordered an ottaman bed from the Peterborough branch to be delivered to a static caravan on the coast early March we drove the 100 + miles to accept delivery of the delivery of the bed and waited in the freezing cold all day no sign of the bed. We were told the bed would be there before 2pm,at 4pm i rang to find out it's whereabouts an was told it was on its way back to the depot,to say i was furious was an understatement. I contacted customer services the following day (calmed down a little by now)and, an explanation was demanded from the driver who came up with some feeble excuse about ringing me,surely the driver should go to the address first(Bensons take note)apparently he rang the wrong number. Any way now with her in control a new delivery date was arranged and the bed was delivered on time, simple to put together and pleased with the quality. Reimbersment was agreed and after a disasterous start from Bensons their reputation was now restored

Looking around for full new set of bedroom furniture, Bensons came with best price for quality of goods we wanted. We took the chance to organise purchase during "After Christmas" Sale, though we found later that we jumped the gun, cause a week later they dropped another 20% off, up until now (March). We have decided on bed, mattress, wardrobe, drawers and got it all on finance which was on good terms. Since furniture they sell comes from German manufacturer Rauch Moebel, we had to wait minimum of 4 weeks ( it came 5 in total) for delivery, but this isn't unusual. So here the story begins... We've got the delivery, and although I was certain we agreed that some items will come fully assembled, others "will be assembled" by delivery blokes, nope, they dropped all 20 boxes/pieces in my bedroom and gone. Quick ring to the branch I bought it from and I hear: it's "Self Assembly" for other items, "Great" I though, it will take me 2 days to build it all. Once after 3 hours of pure unpacking I found that 2 items were damaged in transport (chipped corners) I got really upset, cause I didn't check it all before driver left, although it took 3h to unpack, so I'd have to hold those guys that long! Rang the Customer Service and after nice conversation with a guy, we had organised the replacement delivery (another 3-4 weeks to wait). Today (after 4 weeks) I got my replaced items and have given the damaged ones back to delivery guys and yet again being stupid, haven't opened boxes before letting them go. I gave back two full items, but been given back only parts of them, that were damaged. Now I got a carcass with no drawers and drawer with no handle and rail... how disappointing. Tomorrow another call to complain, but customer left unhappy.

Have read most of the reviews, starting to panic now. Only had my bed 3 weeks and already showing 2 dips where we sleep. Paid £1160 for the complete divan with headboard, the matress was £960. Told it was the top of the range, with all natural fillings in the pillow top, ie kashmere, silk and wool. I have been rotating the matress weekly as requested (and it takes some doing as very heavy). Has anyone had their issues resolved or am I just going to waste my breath and money complaining

Firstly we searched high and low for a nice comfy mattress and frame. We chose the hip hop double and air 2000 double. Lovely and comfy in store. Stylish frame too. Great customer service by the staff in Crewe. Even if on occasion when ive called they couldn't find my paperwork. All has been fantastic until delivery today... Delivery men as promised called an hour before, we're very pleasant. Even took down a stairgate and put back up that I forgot about. However, somewhere along the lines my double frame and mattress has turned into a double frame and kingsize mattress. Now what am I meant to do with this? I phoned up. Explained to the nice chap in the warehouse that I gave up my old bed for this to be delivered. And needed to know what they would do. I was assured they would speak to 'DC' team abd call me back and that it was there fault. Half the day later still no call back. Second phone call. Another nice chap said exactly the same so i explained the following as I am heavily pregnant will under no circumstances be sleeping on an air bed and would therefore have to use the mattress. I was told this was fine. I mentioned that I was upset it would be wasting a mattress as it couldn't be used again if we slept on it. I therefore said as a gesture of goodwill for them to send us a kingsize frame instead. I have had no answer. No phone call. I've no idea what is happening. We don't know what to do and all were being told is the 'DC' team will be in touch. Anyone else had this experience?

Hi, in my experience made a claim about the quality. The company is liable for faults on your product for six months. They will try anything to keep your money however ask for refund and go elswhere. I boutght 4 single matrasses and one superking memory foam matress from them. All are rubish as they have saged after six months and lost the support and firmness. I regeret I have ever got involved with this company. Thier products are overpriced and the quality is very very very very poor.
