I have owned my Citrone C8 for 3.5 years, upgraded to top model larger car with a view to keeping it longer than the 2 years we usually keep them. Having all the added extras made it a special car to be in. Have had to change the brakes twice and every six months I have to change tyre due to wear, but apart from that it has run fine until the first day of the Easter holidays, when the engine just stopped. Green Flag towed me to a local garage, where i was told if it was the timing belt not as bad as the cambelt, but then it went down hill from there. Two garages refused to touch it as the job would take to long. Current garage has advised timing belt will have ruined rockers and to remove injectors need to come out and you never get all four out without them breaking, and then has to be sent away. Estimate of at least £2,500. I have no cash, can not work without my car and weeks until I know the extent of the final bill. I have been offered £1,500 for scrap!! I owe more than this on finance. The car is 5 year old, but only has 45,500 on the clock.
Have read numerous reviews since this problem, only wish I had read them earlier and got rid of the car for the £5,000 it is worth earlier. LOVE THE CAR, HATE THE REPAIR BILL!!

The sliding doors are great when I'm lifting the small kids in and out of the car, especially in the rain. It fits 3 car seats in the middle section really well (had a Zafira before and I couldnt do that). The boot fits my double buggy in, no problem and I can fit a few bags of shopping in there even when the buggy is there (not the weeks shopping but a few bags). Theres great room between the middle row of seats and the front seats which makes it a lot easier for me to put the kids' seat belts on when there in their car seats. Overall quite a good car for me. Plenty of space and good size seats all 7 of them. Just a little concern why these lights are lighting up. I'm going to take it to Citroen to see if they know whats going on.

We alsohave had one for just over 3 years, front tyres need replacing every 6 months, especially off side front. BUT now it appears we need a new steering rack £1000 plus labour whichI find very strange. As you say good car But I willnever buy Citroen again (I did have one 15 years ago and swore I would never buy again but unfortunately did)Our second car is a land rover discovery we have had since new for 13 years - what a work horse think its time for a new one.
