Videologic ZXR-750 7.1 - I have sat here for hours trying to get all speakers to work but only end with the front three!! the sound is good with three but as I have a total of 7 speakers I will use 7 speakers, whether I am successfull or not is another matter

Bought These Videologic Zxr-750 7.1 On 8/11/03 As
Bought these Videologic ZXR-750 7.1 on 8/11/03 as 5.1 is not cutting edge anymore. After listening to monitor mounted speakers for 3 years decided for the upgrade to go with new PC. Good move as these are well worth the money although my on-board sound-card only has one output so 7.1 is not possible until I upgrade that too(other speakers may only require one output but not sure). Audigy 2zs is in the post.
As a plus point they are backwards compatible to 5.1 and 6.1 with the flick of a switch.
Satellites are powered by cables as opposed to batteries which means you don't need shares in duracel although having cables running everywhere looks untidy. Cables are long(3x3m, 4x8m) so you can run them round walls.
Does not come with remote control or optical out unfortunately(3.5mm only).
All speakers come with removable stands.
Max output - 84w
No regrets!!!
I agree. I have the equivalent 5.1 system and the sound quality is reasonably good, and the output is more than enough, and great for parties. I particularly like the punchy bass on these speakers. Absolute bargain. Audiophiles might want to steer clear, but anyone looking for some decent speakers at a good price, then buy these! In your review you noted that the speakers require multiple channel outputs from the sound card - This is the same with all surround speakers as far as i'm aware unless you use some sort of separate amplifier which will take a L/R stereo input and pipe it out through all of the speakers. You can get a PCI 7.1 surround sound card for about £10 these days, most modern motherboards even have them on-board.
