“Good service ”

Been with Atlantic Gas Electricity (trading name of Scottish and Southern Energy) for 5 years now ,never had any problems with billing and they have always refunded any over payments every year. I usually get a customer loyalty free months gas electricity every January but they must have stopped this perk this year :(. Overall happy with service customer service is excellent although a couple of new smaller energy companies have entered the market last couple of years and their prices are slightly cheaper .

Atlantic recently wrote to me with their price increases so I went on a few comparison websites which all came up with big savings by switching to First:Utility. It's a hassle to switch suppliers so I rang Atlantic to check if there were any better deals they could offer. Southern Electric, of which Atlantic are a division, have an on-line tariff called 'Go Direct' (which they don't advertise!). So they have moved me on to that, saving me around 20% annually. This is not far off the saving I apparently could have achieved by switching, plus the First:Utility tariff that the comparison websites all used was a variable monthly payment for your actual usage, not spread out over the year, so they weren't actually comparing like-for-like. I've found this is often the case with these price comparison websites. The sales advisor I spoke to at Atlantic was very helpful, unlike the call centre at First:Utility who took ages to answer and then couldn't really be bothered. After making the change and sticking with Atlantic I reivewed First:Utility - the very clear message from virtually all reviewers was 'stay well clear'. Their customer service seems to be non-existent whereas I've always had a good experience with Atlantic. It's a shame they don't publicise this cheaper tariff, but then I suppose it's not in their interest - just like the banks!

“I have been with Atlantic Gas and Electricity for...”

I have been with Atlantic Gas and Electricity for nearly two years. They are not the cheapest but I chose them because they were rated top for good customer service which is equally important is what I have got to date. They regularly advise when bills are available online, a meter reader calls about twice a year and readings are accurate and they gave the loyalty refund after twelve months of the cost of a month's gas and electricity. Last year I lost my job and their customer services were helpful and agreed to my request to leave my gas price as it was when prices were soaring. I have looked at other sites but have seen nothing better which would make me change.

We've been with Atlantic for a good few years now and I do rate them (have both our gas and electric with them). Thumbs up for paperless billing, always quick to send out a revised bill if they send you an estimated version and we've received a loyalty discount in the form of cashback straight into our account.

We have been with Atlantic Electric and Gas for a couple of years and I can't say I have any problems with them to date. The loyalty refund was paid on time after being with them twelve months and, having lost my job last year, they were helpful in agreeing not to raise the cost of my gas when prices were rising. We have a meter reader come round at least once a year and the readings are always accurate. They aren't the cheapest but I originally chose them because they have a good reputation for customer service which is just as important to me. I've looked at other providers who might be cheaper but haven't found any which would make me want to change.

We have found Atlantic to be excellent. They show how they calculate your monthly payments (actual energy usage for previous 12 months x cost divided by 12). We get a loyalty bonus for being with them for over 12 months that makes them even better value for money compared to the rest.
