“When I went looking for a new TV to replace my 26"...”

★★★★★

written by Carl. on 13/03/2002

When I went looking for a new TV to replace my 26" one. I didn't intend buying one this size. But having seen the quality of the picture and the sound reproduction, and its many other features, I finally convinced my wife that the Panasonic TX32PK20 would be good investment (not to mention the fact that it was ex-display so I got it for £700). To say I have pleased with it is an understatement. Having seen other widescreen TVs I still think that this is one of the best. Would I pay £1200, honestly I don't think so, but then I always look for bargains, and this has to be the best I have ever found.

This Panasonic Widescreen TV is a constant source of pleasure! Excellent clarity, easy to set up and adjust! Looks good when DVD is used! The surround casing isn't large like many 32" TV's! ( around the screen ). And it is big (when viewed from 7-8ft) ;-)

I have one of these and fully agree with this review. There is just one problem with the Panasonic........it shrinks!
When I got mine the screen was massive but now it looks no larger than the 28" it replaced :(. I now find myself looking longingly at 36" sets despite the fact I am sill recovering from the financial dent my TX-32 created.

I bought this tv a few weeks ago and fully agree with the previous review comments. I had a 28" Sony Widescreen for almost 3 years and finally got fed up with the vertical side distortions which I'd almost come to accept as being the price for having widescreen. I took some test photos on my digital camera, went to stores and, using the av cable, viewed the photos on various televisions and found this Panasonic to be far and away the best at reproducing true verticals - right to the 4 corners of the screen.
The picture and sound quality are superb and the 2 scart connections are a necessity in this day and age. The casing and stand are compilmentary - although putting together the stand is hard work when it really shouldn't need to be.
In summary, this unit is a pleasure to watch and is now at a very respectable price - mid £700's.
