this vodafone 3g stick is mostly for very light users . with £15 topup inculd in the box which is not bad i brought mine from vodafone at xmas 2008 at £49.99 now you get it for £19.99 from argos . and i only get one bar on the signal on 3g which is ok . best part is if you dont use the modem for a week to a month you dont lose any credit . the sms software dont work at all so why there give you the software is strange . to sum it up its ok bit faster then my 3 network dongle . so £15 topup for 1 gig is a bit pricie but for that you prob get a good speed and no time limit on top ups .

I was unsure about these cards on reading earlier reviews but signed up for the service anyway.
Have found the card invaluable for Internet access - fast and stable connection. Using logmein.com allows control of the office server even whilst sailing! A must for any small business.

I have looked long and hard for a Vodafone Mobile Connect 3G data card, and I can say that Vodafone are out on their own. If you go to www.airtimemanager.co.uk you will get a free card and 250Mb for £20 a month plus VAT, and that is the best value. My card has worked with no hitches what-so-ever. I have no problem recommending this to anyone, and I have done so.

I bought my Vodafone Mobile Connect 3G/GPRS 3G data card secondhand on Ebay.
I knew it was Sim unlocked, so as I've only got an Orange Sim at the moment that's data enabled for my phone, that's what I've used. I searched around the Web for the settings needed, which took all of 5 minutes, and hey presto, I was connected through GPRS at 56K. I'm waiting for a new 3G Sim to come through the post, and I will try it to see the difference in speed.

The Vodafone Mobile Connect 3G/GPRS Data Card can become faulty, so be prepared to exhaust all options to convince customer care team that it isn't your incompetence.
Note for Outlook users - If using Outlook don't forget to change your SMTP settings, or your email will not work. Change SMTP to send.vodafone.net; you can do this by choosing Tools/Email Accounts (you will not need to change your pop3 settings).

I have not tried other 3G cards, but I was some what surprised at the speed that the Vodafone Mobile Connect 3G/GPRS data card works, and how quick it logs on.
I am not a techy but I was able to set it up myself.

The above thought is smart and doesn't require any further addition. It's perfect thought from my side.
