Great Camera For A Reasonably Keen Photographer. T
Great camera for a reasonably keen photographer. The Canon PowerShot S70 has lots of modes and control, in fact probably a bit much considering the small lens and the range of apertures that can be chosen. SLR type levels of control on a compact are of debatable benefit. However better too much than not enough. The 28mm lens is a major plus. More useful than a few extra mm at the telephoto end particularly as with such high resolution images you can probably crop what you want. Optical viewfinder is only gripe: rather small and will only give a general impression of the picture, I still prefer it over using a screen in some situations and it saves battery power. You will need a big memory card. I would get at least 512Mb.
