Wildhearts, Stormy In The North, Karma In The Sout
Wildhearts, Stormy In The North, Karma In The South [CD1] - In January of 2003, the Wildhearts released the rock 'n' roll treat that is 'Stormy In The North, Karma In The South' through Snapper Records. The single came out in three parts (CD1, CD2 and a 'Making Of The Video' DVD). The two CD's both contained two B-Sides each. This review is for the first CD. The single managed to fly up to number 17 in the UK charts upon release.
The tracklisting is as follows:
1. Stormy In The North, Karma In The South
2. Bang!
3. If I Decide
The A-Side track 'Stormy In The North, Karma In The South' was the first collaboration between frontman Ginger and guitarist C.J. The track boasts a gloriously heavy nature with the trademark Wildhearts melodic sound pumping through its veins. The track blasts off with a massive wall of guitars thumping at your speakers. The whole song races through with haunting memories of 'Earth Vs' numbers with a more savage twist genius!
Second on the bill we have the heart-filled track 'Bang!' that runs for just over 5mins. Melodic from the moment the first chord is hit, the song delivers a daydreaming haze of a verse, building to an awesome sing-along chorus that puts a smile on every good Wildhearts fan.
Riff heavy B-Side 'If I Decide', carves out a monster of a song that seems to be forged with a wall of blasting guitars. With slight glimpses of tracks from the 'Fishing For Luckies' era, the track won't disappoint.
