Sony MDR-DS3000 Review - Optical i would say is better for surround sound effects and phono I would say better for music, divx movies. But please do make sure you buy high quality phono cables like IXOS or QED. Overall superb system with loads of battery life fantastically crafted surround sound and a very comfortable headphone, even for long hours of pleasure.
