Brides By Isabelle had a good selection and were initially quite helpful, but they didn't check my dress when it was delivered from the manufacturer & never seemed happy about requests to try it on. They forgot to take the petticoat to the dressmaker for altering, so the first time we realised it was wrong was 6 days before my wedding - the dress had 10 inches less material on one side! They were then really difficult to get hold of and I was in a bit of a blind panic for a few days!

The shop is very rarely open now, the answer machine is also out of date and calls are infrequently returned. They're only in the shop on Saturdays so if you need something or, like me, there's a problem, you're pretty much stuck.

Brides By Isabelle Lee-On-Solent is excellent! It is a relaxed business run by mum and daughter who are more than happy to help match your dress up with accessories. I went when a sale I was on and I got a bargain! My dress was £830 reduced to £350. I felt so comfortable there that I am going back to buy my brides maids dresses there too! As my dress was in the sale they allowed a week for me to think about it too! Best of all they don't pressure you to buy anything and the budget was not a problem.

Brides by Isabelle - Because I am a plus size (16) I have had some service and remarks from certain shops which to be honest, has made me feel small and embarrassed so as a result I am reluctant to buy expensive dresses from them. Someone mentioned Brides By Isabelle on the Solent which had a good reputation. I can safely say I was not disapointed. The ladies were lovely! I ended up making an appointment for Sunday (Saturday they were too busy) and they opened up the shop (for me only) and I spent about 3 hours in the shop! I did get my dress there and I was very pleased. When I went in I with Maggie Sottero in mind but I actually bought something which felt a bit classier (Essense d348). I went along to Brides by Isabelle one Saturday but to be honest I had to make an appointment since the place was heaving. And I am well, 'not skinny 'so felt a bit self conscience in front of some of those slim brides to be! I ended coming back the following Sunday. The first thing I noticed is they opened up especially for me on a Sunday, which I have not come across before. I also felt that this was the best service I had since not for a moment did either of the two who served me make me feel anything less than comfortable. I have told a few people (especially those who are a bit conscience like self me) and they have all got their dresses there. Actually my sister didn't but she has to be different! Any way basically I would suggest going if you are fed up with rude snotty shop keepers who haven't heard of manners or sensitivity.
