Hi
I own a Nissan Micra 1.5DCI Tekna. What a brilliant little car, it goes like a rocket and uses nearly no Diesel to go along, my trip computer gives me an overall economy of 4.4l/100km.
The only thing that I can;t understand is that how can a dealer charge so much for spares? I live in South Africa and to do a normal service on it cost me the last time (60000km) R3144. I can't pay nearly R800 a filter?
Very nice little car, but there is no way you can maintain it. Agents are ripping you off and no pirate spares.

The Nissan Micra 1.5dCi is a brilliant little car. I've got one on an 04 plate, and its economical, and has never broken down. I've recently had the CAM belt changed (because it had reached that time), and it cost £182 plus labour, so even that was fairly reasonable!

The Nissan Micra 1.5dCi SVE is amazing. Its 1.5 diesel engine propels it along very easily at amazing economy. We are averaging 65mpg (according to the onboard computer) and we live in a rural, hilly area with no dual carriage way for 25 miles, so lots of gear changing.
On a recent journey it returned 72mpg averaging 60mph.
The cabin is well thought out with lots of space for such a small car. There are lots of little touches like a storage box under the passenger seat which lifts up. The rear seat moves backward and forward to allow for either more leg room (moved back) or more storage (moved forward).
The lights are excellent in the night and there is good vision all around. The audio unit is good with steering wheel control. The service interval
is I think 18000 miles or 24months (please check) which means Nissan have a lot of confidence in this little fella. If you are looking for a car of this size check it out and definitely drive this diesel version.
The whole car is well thought out and looks good. It may not be everybody's cup of tea and you may not want to speak Micra but I consider this car to be a winner.
On the down side (there always is one) the gear change can feel a little clunky but it's not a major issue.

I own a 2006 Micra TDI. A major service cost me R1040 at SAC.
