The Philips FW-D596/30 has a good audio system but is very, very unreliable.

Within one month from the purchase of the PHILIPS FW-D596/30, the product found to be defective. It takes more than 2 months to replace the part, that also in warranty period, by till then my product was totally dumb I request Philip co. to give two months extension warranty period which they had totally wasted, nor do they give me extension nor do change the product.
Again system having problem god knows if I send this product for repair, (which is not in warranty period now) will I receive it this year or not.
Most worst service and product is useless

I have had the PHILIPS FW-D596/30 for about a month. I purchased it for $600 at a Myers.
This system has very good sound quality and loudness. I like the feature of the Db meter.
After about a day I realised that it would not change disks using the remote. I got a new one and this one has the same problem aswell as the system whistling sometimes and not making any sound from the CD. The skip, stop and 1-9 key pad does not work(sometimes) on the remote control.
THE BAD PART I was talking to somebody else that has this system and he said that he has had the same problems and also his AUX doesnt work. I am beginning to think the model is a flop.
I am now trying to do something about it and get it sorted. I'm unhappy as this is my 4th stereo in 2 years
