The Muppeets Christmas Carol is one of my all time favourite chriosmtas films. It follows the traditional story of Scrooge and the three ghosts but with a "muppet" flavour. Some great songs and very funny dialogue make this a great christmas film for all the family to enjoy.

Scrooge is a rich man, but he is also mean to everyone around him. When his nephew Fred, the only family member he has, ever so kindly invites him to spend the next day with him and his wife, Scrooge turns him down flat. Also, Scrooge (rather hypocritically) says to Fred that falling in love is the only thing sillier than a Merry Christmas. This movie is good as a substitute for the 1951 movie Scrooge or a read-aloud of the original book. This can acquaint kids with the story without boring them to death or having them traumatized by some of the disturbing bits, but I would not recommend this to an overzealous Dickens fan. The politest response this movie would get would be repeated throwing of objects at the screen whenever something happens that didn't happen in the book.
