Their processes are something from the dark ages.

Doing something simple such as creating a DNS record could take 24hrs as you have to email them to make the change. (ALL other hosting platforms have this functionality)

Keep away and select someone else.

Things change...the more successful the more the change.....Claranet service is appalling and after many years I am going to a small but highly recommend company

We are a Charity who have used Claranet for some twenty years.

Over the last few years their service has changed never more so than just recently

I called Claranet, and spoke to fellow, in advance of our move.

Come the moving date, we had no interest wifi service for the old or new address, meanwhile Claranet was deducting money from the charity account as per normal.

On calling them, I was told that any move brings about ' a new contract' and this would take a long time, by our standards. I was told that no one had logged the first call that I had made about our move

The initial period would take three working days to set the new service up and working. Well it is five and we have not even started the initial period, prior to the main period (which they told me would take 10 days)

This is a mess. It is very sad that an old bread and butter customer is being treated this way

How strange that they even want our Charity to start a new contract when they are taking money from our old contract?

Our constant phone calls bring about the same confusion that you may be experiencing by reading here about our experience.

The only way we can get wifi/interet is by going to Starbucks cafe....who unlike claranet do not charge....do not require new contracts for moving....and can supply a service

Used to be very good for ISP / Webmail. Now mediocre and charge annual fee for basic spam laden webmail with very poor user interface.

When i am with clara.net always my server is down.. When i called for the support they tell me the technical details which is not aware..and one of client recommended unlimitedgb they make me to know all technical details and guide me step by step...

Absolutely terrible. They were fine while I was paying them a set fee per year for hosting. When I finally needed them to actually do something, i.e. to close my account and transfer everything over to a new provider, it took 4+ days and endless emails and phone calls for them to do anything. An utter waste of time. I can't recommend them any less.

Awful. Had a company with 2 different sites today. One was an existing line and one was a new line. With the new line all I wanted was 2 usable IP adresses. I was given a routed block and this did not work. After over an hour of conversation trying to explain to the technician the issue finally got another block. This again did not work. After another hour got another one that did work. Then with the existing line just wanted them to reset the broadband password as I was replacing the kit. Now they have reset it and then had a RADIUS issue that means now nothing works. 5 hours later and still no resolution. Was told then that there will be no more work done by the Solutions Escalation team until tomorrow. Oh yes and I can`t speak to them. They never phone me back and no-one there seems to know what they are doing aside maybe from one person that I did speak to today. Now I have to be on site early tomorrow to try and force this through to resolution. Avoid this company. Anyone that has massive issues for simple solutions for SME`s like this are not worth the pain and grief bothering with.

I think claranet are improving and they are dedicated to provide good service to all business which is why I have notice they have two differrent sites.

Clara.net - large organisation and coporation

www.claranetsoho.co.uk - for SME and individues

With most companies you are unable to get hold them, they now have 24hour UK support.

I have noticed they also have changed their prices.

The reliability of clara is well worth the extra outlay who provide a fast and reliable service.

They have to improve their website.

misleading information as the technicians tell you as a business customer there is support at the weekend - there is not and if you only havethat time

forget it. Claranet are only interested in large organisations not sme.

I am definately looking to move.

I have been with the company 14 year and have only just learned that my internet speed in 1/60th of what is on offer now and Claranet do not inform you unless you push them for a solution.

Consider carefully before paying for such an expensive and poor service.

If I could score Claranet nil on every rating I would!
