Lovely car. Mazda 6. To drive. Shame the customer service guys seemed to want to rush us to sign everything without explanation or time to read the form to sign. Also shame they didn’t know how to program their own sat nav in the car. However over all we had a good drive Chicago to carlinville return. “Avoid, Excess £1200, half tank gas.”

Avoid at all costs, the excess is £1200, if you have an accident, your fault or not, your paying instantly £1200. Straight from your credit card....but it will only cost £100 to fix, your still not going to see the rest any time soon. Car was delivered with half tank of gas, when was promised full. If you take it back half full, you will pay 50p e trap per litre....they penalise you, take your hard earned money...upon delivery they just said petrol station was busy....great thanks, now… Read Full Review

I recently rented from Disney to Miami. Great service and quality of car we got. Small problem with the sat nav that was sorted out straight away by the team - Thanks. Would certainly recommend to a friend. Only other thing was that I was told that office in Miami was open til 6, but actually closed at 5 so had to return the keys the next morning. Car rented though Alama / Locauto in Lamezia terme, Italy Our car broke down in the middle of a city, more than 100km from the rental place. I had to call more than 10 times to get someone to consider my case. The only option proposed was to go back to the rental place at my own expense and by my own means. The employee spoke to me on the phone arguing that this was in the conditions of the contract (which was not the case). Overall the car hire was ok, the car needed new bearings. The problem was when we return the car. One of our party had left his mobile in the car. We were waiting on the minivan to take us to Lanzarote airport and had only moved a 100 metres from the car. A member of staff checked the car and said everything was ok..he opened the doors to let us check for mobile but it was not there. He also help us take the luggage out to check that it wasn't there. I have used Alamo for my last 3 trips to the USA, out of Tampa, Palm Springs and Phoenix. I have always pre-paid before leaving the U.K. and always take advantage of the ‘skip the line’ service. I have never experienced a problem with Alamo, good choice of cars - I book full size SUVs, and an efficient service every time. “Complete rip-off”

After coming home my credit card was charged far more than the rental agreement stated. There was some petrol missing which was charged, which is aboslutely fine. On top of that a 35 euro after hours charge was applied whereas our rental agreement clearly stated opening hours 0-24 hrs. Alamo customer service can't be bothered to take this seriously. We rented a car earlier this year in FIGARI Corsica via the internet, which we had to pick up at the ALAMO desk at arrival, which was inspected at return by ENTERPRISE (related to Alamo), and for which afterwards we had to pay a Damage bill to ATF LOCATION Porto-Vecchio. “Extortionate damage claims. Avoid!”

I hired a car from Alamo Car Hire/Enterprise Rent-a-Car at Paris CDG airport. On pickup I made what I thought was a careful visual inspection of the car. I identified a couple of marks which the staff member had failed to notice in the dimly lit car park. He gave the car only a cursory inspection and dismissed the marks I had reported as insignificant. “250% price increase for same vehicle”

Used Alamo many times over the years. Mostly very happy with the service. Today I queried why renting the same vehicle 7 months later was 250% more expensive for nearly a days less rental than last time; £560 for 36 hours vs £210 for 48 hours. Pre paid and and car confirmation after getting to desk and filling out all the additional paper work we were told we requested was unavailable and the same class had been substituted. We were actually given a much small car. After when we got home I repriced and had I booked that car initially I would have saved over $100. We bought toll pass as was told it was cheaper but infact with the 25% tax added in we could have saved a lot of money by paying cash or card at the toll. Generally not very… Read Full Review

We booked a suv through our travel agents, and when landed in Orlando airport we made our to exit, I went to Alamo terminal and after getting forced with extra insurance, breakdown cover, etc etc, from the receptionist, I explained to her that I had all taken care off. Have had two very good experiences of hiring cars from Alamo this year. Firstly out of Denver Airport in May this year. Manager was really helpful in explaining how things worked on a car we were not familiar with, and at the end of the hire period resolving a slight misunderstanding over the price bracket the car had been hired at, but initially with the wrong price. I have rented a vehicle from Miami Int. Airport on October 13, which I had reserved online for one day, estimated total $ 62.69) since I was to board a cruise the next day. We handed over our printed document at the desk, the attendant couldn't find the booking, luckily I had my Ipad and got the email to show him, still couldn't find the booking.
