This camera is a baby Nikon, usually sold with a silver "G" series lens. The older Nikon "EM" is pretty close to its style.
It doesn't have predictive focusing or a fastish motor drive. It is built to a price to compete with the low price 4 series minoltas, mz 60 pentax's and 3000 and 3000V Canons.
It's made for light to medium usage usually sold with 28-80 and a 75-240 zoom both "G" series lenses.
The lens mount is plastic and so will not like the heavier pro lens, but is great for a wide or super wide angle. I use mine with a 17mm as a back up to an f80 with a 70-210 zoom.
It can take AI and AIS lenses but will not meter with them.
If you have brought a nice sb 24, 25, 26 ,27, or sb 28 you can only use it on "A" as there is no TTL flash. Which makes me think it was built to a price.
Overall it's a good camera, exposures spot on and the auto-focusing is not as slow as say the Minoltas in this price range.
It has all the modes you need to take excellent photos. A good clear display and the viewfinder are not too dim in low light.
I brought mine with a 28-80 "G" series lens as a back-up for $US 150 so I cannot complain too much.
