I have all Miele appliances in my home and would never buy an alternative brand. Washing machine, tumble dryer, vacuum all superb... But the dishwasher is exceptional. I brought this machine in 2003 and it still looks as new, operates perfectly, cleans superbly every time and has never let me down.. It is quiet, cavernous, simple to load and once you get the knack of the cutlery tray, it swallows the dishes for an entire roast lunch for 8 people including all pans with ease. What is not to like with this machine? I cannot recommend the dishwasher or brand highly enough.

Bought this dishwasher at least 16 years ago, used constantly and has only needed one spare part replacement about 5 years ago. Great machine but has now come to the end of its life.

Machine leaks from inner seal/diapragm on the circulation pump causing warning light to flash. Miele used to sell this item (shown as No.112 on their pump blow up parts diagram)for around £15.00. But they have decided to stop selling this separately so they can tear your eyes out for a new circulation pump at £264.00. Cheaper to buy another machine!

We have been using our dishwasher now for over 13 years. No problems at all. We particularly like the layout of the two trays for the china, etc, plus the tray for the cutlery. Very quiet in operation. Highly recommended.

We got it with the house 6 years ago, so I estimate it's been having 10+ years of quite abusive dishwasher's life. My wife is a bit freakish about the plates and the Miele is going thru cycles at least 3-4 times a day. Finally I need to replace a washer on the valve (I hope to order it from Miele tomorrow), but even if I have to replace the washer it definitely deserves its Dishwasher's Special Pension.

This dishwasher sometimes works perfectly but mostly does not. It is hard to get it to start and mostly has to be switches on and off numerous times before the green light comes on to enable the starting button to work. It also frequently does not heat the water and does not heat during the drying cycle, thus leaving everything soaking so the machine has to be switched on again since the dishes are only rinsed in cold water. It is also impossible to get it fixed at a reasonable price.

my ex father in law bought us this miele semi integrated dishwasher as a wedding present, its got the tray in the top, which I think is brilliant. It has been used and abused every day since and never gone wrong.Works much better with W5 tablets from Lidl than those Diamond Standard things. Glad it was too heavy for my ex to get in her car when she left. A counterbalance door spring broke last week, so the door is a bit heavier but I'll cope with it maybe for another 23yrs !!

It's just an excellent machine all round, easy to load, lots of suefull programs, cutlery drawer excellent to use, cleans and dries to perfection. I bought this machine about 10 years ago second hand and I think it was around two years old then so it is 12 or 13 years old now and has not had a single breakdown or problem. Can't want more than that from a machine. I know some people hate the cutlery drawer but once you get used to it it's great. I will update this review when I have a problem with it or sell it.

I love this machine we have had it for 8 years the filter broke a while ago but it was only 30 pounds or so for the replacement. It is quiete and cleans the dishes and very reliable great machine.
Adjustable basket on top make it so easy to adjust for differant heights and it just works so well what can I say great machine.

I Have had this machine for 9 years and 5 months. we have a big family and it has coped with sometimes a use of 3 wash loads a day. general use is once a day. I do have a problem with mine now but only because the outlet hose has a split in it, which I had dne on returning the machine to it's location after checking the electic wall socket.

I dont think there are good and bad its just a good machine thats never given us any trouble unlike the a dryer we bought a few years ago simpson washing machines are great miele are awesome for vacuum cleaners along wih dyson so i know im off subject but yeah. I like this Miele G646SC Plus machine its quiet so when im watching tv its nice. I always have the Salt PC lite lit, i put rince aid in the dish washer an know much how much the light just stays off leading me to believe its full so i dont fill it for over a year and still its saying its full so im not sure on that one i dont use it enough to know. It takes a long time to wash i think.

I had a free 5 year warranty on my Miele G646SC Plus dishwasher. What a blessing. It has been a nightmare. We paid a little extra because we thought we were buying the best. I have had other, cheaper dishwashers which have never broken down. I have never used so much washing up liquid as I have since buying this machine.

Here's the now common story of my experience with the Miele G646SC Plus. The tech comes to fix it when a light goes on "drain outlet not functioning' or something like that. He spends hours trying to figure this out. He tells me water got into the computer part of the dishwasher. This is an area consumers cannot get into or they would know.( Miele can run diagnostics over the phone line with you pushing buttons on your dishwasher) So they know when someone tinkers with these things. It requires special tools/ it is sealed away from any aspect of consumer wear and tear. Miele said it would cost over $750.00 for the new part. I am not responsible for poor engineering seals that failed to protect the BRAIN of the dishwasher. I have still not heard back from two letters sent to Miele. After two letters, we still have not even received a phone call. This dishwasher broke under five years of age. Nothing a consumer should be concerned about having to fix.. Their are laws protecting consumers on appliances that fail. I heard Miele was a proud company. Stands by their product? Two letters and still no response? Not nice.

I have used my Miele G646SC Plus dishwasher day in and day out for 6+ years, and it has never let us down. It still looks like new with no rust etc... It still cleans perfectly, though I would recommend a model with a 75 degree wash, if you can afford the extra for those odd occasions when you need the extra cleaning power.
It has never let us down! What can I say? The cutlery tray is sheer genius, and I would hate a model in the future without one. It is also very quiet.
It's very hard to think of anything to say against it.

Miele G646SC Plus - I really don't recommend buying this dishwasher at all. We've had it for 18 months and it's been nothing but a nightmare since we got it. I was intrigued by the cutlery drawer but...big mistake. Miele normally makes fantastic appliances - their washing machines are absolutely brilliant and I couldn't fault them. But this dishwasher is horrendous. It's the full size one and yet you can barely fit anything in it. Miele appliances are normally quite pricey and where we believe in the mantra 'cheap things are crap' we honestly honestly wouldn't recommend buying this one.

Can't believe you're talking about the same machine! Ours is 18yrs old and used everyday. Got it off our inlaws 6 yrs ago and only had to replace pump 2 yrs ago, the meile tech said it was the first time he had to do that! just changing the filter now, hence I'm on this site. No problem with the size of it, just how big are yr plates?!
Anyway if its not cleaning the cutlery then yr rotating water spray thingy at the top is obviously blocked. The little holes get blocked from time to time, normally due to small bits of glass or plastic, its no big deal. Either you are plain unlucky or yr not looking after it properly

Bought this second hand... quickly realised my plates don’t fit. They’re not exceptionally large plates, even the slightly smaller dinner plates don’t fit. I’m genuinely shocked and surprised by this. Looks like a lovely machine, just confused by the sizing inside.

Miele G646SC Plus - I've had my Miele 646, for about a year now and been very pleased. I'm selling it now only because we are refitting the kitchen and need an intergrated one.....a Miele again. I love the cutlery tray which seems to be unique. Regardless of what you've heard, it's easy to load. You do have to put stuff in one by one but load items grouped by type and once finished you can just grab a handful and put straight in your drawer, you dont have to sort. It's not exactly rocket science! I would recommend you get one, it's excellent.

I have had my Miele G646 SC Plus Dishwasher now for 6 months. I had problems initially with white film left on glassware and an initial engineers visit really didn't help. However Miele were exceptionally patient with me and eventually sent out a technician and since then it has been fine. It takes a while to wash - up to 2 hours for the 55 degrees plus wash but saucepans etc come out really clean. The controls are very easy to use. I like the cutlery tray at the top, the cutlery doesn't stick together and gets very clean and it is easier to take out all the spoons etc and put them away together. My son likes the tray as he doesn't get dirty fingers from loading the cutlery!
Miele are very expensive but their quality of customer care and service are worth every penny. I had previously had such trouble with Bosch repairers who treated me like an idiot because I expected clean glasses!.
I would say persevere with the cutlery tray for a bit longer

Had the same issue, you can get the impeller and seal as a package for around £80 alternatively as I did to mine I went to a local chandlers and obtained a tube of dow sealant that had sealing properties between -75 degrees and + 150 degrees.
it has worked smoothly again since.

Yes, I used a similar product called "geocel" which is specifically for water leak/seal applications. Available in plumbers merchants or B&Q
