Solecito Apartments

I totally agree with the other users review about the Solecito Apartments in Alcudia. The bar is in the centre of the very small complex, and drinks are served until everyone is steaming. The noise carries across the complex, and if you want to get to sleep before 3am, forget it. There is terrible noise from the arcade, as parents just leave their kids to run riot while they drink in the Britannia next door to the apartments, or in the Solecito Bar. The pool is small, and I much preferred the Mariners pool at the back of the apartments, which you can use free of charge. Also, the entertainment there is better, as it's better quality, child friendly and everything shuts down at Midnight, unlike the Solecito. The bar staff are friendly, but they should stop serving paralytic people; money or not! Loads of domestics could be heard across the complex all night, as the drink and heat affected peoples sanity. No, I am not a party popper, but I also didn't want an 18-30's style holiday with two children and my mother with us.

Basically, apartment size is good, location is terrible, walk to the beach a pain, staff friendly, food cheap and cheerful. BUT, IT IS NOT A FAMILY HOLIDAY. It is more like Butlins on beer in a heatwave.

The location of the Solecito Apartments in Alcudia is not good. It was like being in the middle of Blackpool. It was filled with people who thought that dressing up for dinner was an English football top. Also, the prices in the bar varied every night, and one night I was charged 7 Euros for 2 drinks, and the next night 10 Euros. The food was just okay, but the apartments constantly had a sewage smell in them which was gut-wrenching. Also, our neighbour was the DJ from the Mariner's Apartments, and every night at approx 4/5am my children were woken up by obscenities between him and his girlfriend, so much so, that we had to swap rooms.
