“Waiting over 1 Year for Commission Payment”

★☆☆☆☆

written by voucherfarm on 11/06/2014

Hi everyone, I ran a promotion for a month or two promoting London Eye on Commission Junction which I made commissions over £100. I have new been waiting a year since those sales were made for payment and every month they say London Eye have not paid. I am some what confused though as to why this company is still promoting and live on Commission Junction and why it is fine for me to do work promoting a company for them to choose not to pay for over a year. Its not exactly a small company either. Terrible service and will not use this network again after such treatment.

Hello, Do not ever try Commission Junction its a group of people taking little affiliates money, I have been promoting NobelCom and Doubleyourdating product on this networks, when I reached ove $100 in commission they simply sent me an email syaing : Hello, this letter should serve as a notice that we have deleted your Publisher account we did this because we have right to do this with or with out any reason" Wooow that scary I contacted NobelCom they said CJ has been charging us for last 3 month we are afraid to know they didn't pay so will take legal action against Commission Junction. I have been emailing them but still no positive reply. Please please stay away from CJ, I am working with Tradedoubler, Affiliate Window and Linkshare still no problem with them.

“If I could give a zero rating on cj I would”

I promoted and I sold a Stephen Strasburg autograph baseball a few years back and received nothing in commissions, they just wiped it clean. The Strasburg ball sold for almost $400. Never! Never promote with cj. They suck and will not pay you.

“Cheated out of $1,200 in commissions”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 08/08/2011

I've had problems recently with KEEN through CJ. They owed me $1,200 in commissions and were trying to say the emails that were used were suspicious. I contacted CJ and they say that it doesn't appear that I did any thing fraudulent, yet I have to appeal to the publisher and CJ will do nothing to back me up. I have busted my butt to promote these people and now I get shafted because they aren't finding the promotions to be a profitable as they hoped. KEEN said that not enough of the people who signed up through my links came back and spent more money. How is that my fault? Maybe their psychics suck and the people were unhappy?? The bottom line is that I've been cheated out of $1,200 and CJ doesn't seem to care at all. Another thing I pointed out is for people to take advantage of the program they have to pay $1.99 and enter a credit card number. How can these people be fraudulent??

“I'm still surprised that so many people "wonder why"...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Consumerconcerned101 on 22/03/2011

I'm still surprised that so many people "wonder why" Commission Junction pulls such *** moves (and by the way, these are exactly the kind of sketchy, predatory "inactivity fee" practices that recent federal legislation has BANNED and/or cracked down on hard, by credit card or gift card issuers).

Here's the deal: Commission Junction COUNTS on the fact that the majority of its ads will be published by small publishers who will, individually, NEVER be able to collect a dime of their affiliate payments. This creates, collectively, a HUGE and steady income stream for Commission Junction, and helps CJ offer better deals to their large customers-both advertisers and publishers.

I have heard some shortsighted defense of Commission Junction by people who actually think the failure to pay out to small affiliates is justified by the cost Commission Junction incurs to its bandwidth by hosting the images used in these ads, and tracking the clicks. "Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaa " Yes, that's the sound of Commission Junction laughing all the way to the bank with millions of cumulative dollars from small affiliates.

Commission Junction is very pleased for its massive-income-generating small publishers to continue to publish CJ ads, banners, and links long after their accounts have been made dormant, and then deactivated. Are you kidding? After they take every penny under $100 that a paid-by-paper-check affiliate has in his/her account, Commission Junction still gets months and months of free advertising out of these small affiliates who often don't even realize that they've been deactivated!

What can you do? Well, you can stop using Commission Junction. And if the advertisers you like are not total industry giants, you can lobby them to switch to Google Affiliate or any better program. You might be surprised, but this works. In fact, a lot of mid-sized advertisers are actually pretty angry to discover that the money they paid to Commission Junction to pay affiliates never even got to the affiliates, but went right into Commission Junction's deep, dishonest pockets. I mean, how would you feel if you were an advertiser and you gave Commission Junction a million dollars that supposedly got passed on to affiliates as their commission on your sales, plus you paid CJ some percentage for administering the whole process, and then you found out that $850,000 of that million never went to any affiliate because Commission Junction took it out of the affiliates' account, and instead of returning it to you as "unpayable commissions," they just kept it for themselves!

The company is a complete scam. I generated over $8000 in revenues and the account was terminated without any reason. I've hired a lawyer to recover the funds. The company is ran by a bunch of con artists and I would highly recommend to stay away from them.

“Initially I was quite impressed with Commission...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by lindmel on 10/08/2010

Initially I was quite impressed with Commission Junction and was earning small but regular amounts through a couple of their affiliates. Then, they lost those advertisers. They still had plenty of choice though so I carried on with them but I was getting a lot of clicks but no sales. Suddenly, CJ took £7.00 out of my account. Apparently, if you don't make a commissionable sale within 6 months they deduct £7.00 and when you have no money left in the account they deactivate your account. Having spent several years putting their items on my sites, I am now totally disheartened and no longer wish to put any more affiliate programs on from CJ. It's a shame because they had some good travel advertisers but I'm not prepared to spend hours of work just for them to deactivate my account. Also, I am suspicious as to why I am getting clicks but no sales with certain advertisers. Incidentally, they do not pay out earned commissions until you have £50.00 in their account. Having a sum of £33.00 means that they will deduct £7.00 each month now until there is nothing left and then my account will be deactivated. Their excuse is the cost of band width, but I feel that if they are keeping £33.00 of my money for months, plus loads of other peoples, they are gaining interest anyway on that amount so technically that should pay for their bandwidth. I don't know what anyone else thinks.

written by zeesweets on 11/01/2009

So i join Commission Junction about 7 months ago, first for my charity website and then for my reward site.

So my first payment came up to £201 well they said it was euros for some ODD reason!

So they paid it in, and guess what? That account got closed (by me) before i realized they paid!

So i thought well dont worry it will be ok , it would of got returned!

So heres where the trouble started!

I emailed, they said halifax and then halifax was saying get in contact with CJ i was going round in circles!

Till today i have not got 1 penny!

Except for the small cheques.

When I first started with Commission Junction I was making a lot of money everyday untill they told me that I was not going by TOS. That's not true at all in fact it seems like they think that I work for them but I work for my coustomers and I own my own business. Is there something just like Commission Junction out there that I can jump right in to and start making money?

written by adrianallen99 on 16/04/2004

Commission Junction seemed to be good, but I have just recently requested payment and found my account has been put on payment review for 30 days and then if they think I have increased clicks they will terminate my account. This is very annoying and I don't think I'm the only one who has had this problem. My advice would be to look elsewhere or deal directly with the companies of which you want to become an affiliate.

written by Dave M.. on 25/02/2003

They used to be a good and reliable bunch, but since they've left the pay per click system, they've gone downhill in many respects. When I requested payment, next thing I knew was that they terminated my account, accusing me of cheating! This was supposedly detected by their infallible anti-cheating software... I subsequently emailed them several time asking for an explanation, and they never replied once! What can you do! I'd say skip them if you're looking for a company with integrity. There are many around, like Tradedoubler, Fastclick and Focusin.
