“Very poor service”

I booked my car in for an oil and filter change at Kwik Fit Lisburn. My amber engine management light had come on a few days before and I asked my mechanic to have a look at the car. After putting the car on the diagnostics machine he recommended a) The oil to be changed as it was a little gloopy and a new filter and b) A sensor in the exhaust was faulty and needed replaced as it was causing the car to stall every now and again and it was the reason the engine management light was on. My mechanic was happy to do both jobs for me and advised neither were extremely urgent but I had to wait two weeks for him. Due to the fact that he had mentioned the oil and the filter I preferred to get that part completed asap and Kwik Fit had an immediate slot available so I grabbed it. I booked online which meant paying in full the day before and I called Lisburn before paying to make absolutely sure they would have the filter in stock as it meant closing my business for the time it took to complete the job. Everything was agreed and I attended the appointment ahead of time with my 3 year old son. On arrival I met with the manager who I knew straight away didn't really want me to be there based on his horrible attitude. I attempted to lighten the mood by entering into conversation about the car and how busy mechanics were these days but his mood did not change. I expressed how happy I was that I could get an appointment at such short notice and I mentioned how relieved I would be to get one of the two jobs I needed completed so quickly. I went on to explain what my mechanic had advised and he took great pleasure in immediately refusing to touch my car based on "Kwik Fit policy." This policy, that still remains a mystery to me, states that if your car has an engine fault they cannot work on your car at all. I asked for a copy of the policy to be told it "isn't written down anywhere." I said I would sign a disclaimer which I was told wasn't an option. I explained about the sensor being the reason for the engine management light being on but that explanation wasn't accepted. Long story short after the manager basically abused me for thirty minutes he then threw me out of his garage and I was stuck in Lisburn without the money I had paid to Kwik Fit and no repair. I contacted customer services who did seem to be taking me seriously at first but then just referred me to an area manager who said he was fully aware of the Lisburn managers poor communication skills and inability to deal with customers but he was correct to not fix the car. In the meantime I had called all ten Kwik Fits in Northern Ireland and explained that my engine management light was on, my car was stalling and my oil and filter needed changed and seven of the ten were happy to book me in straight away as it seems they are also completely unaware of this "policy." I asked the area manager for a copy of the policy but he could not produce it either. I told the area manager that seven of the ten branches would complete the repair and he didn't seem too concerned. I explained that when booking online there are no questions asked about issues with your car but this was brushed aside. In a nutshell I will never ever ever go back to Kwik fit for anything and I wont be recommending anyone ever does either.

“2 hours waiting for slow punctureFreezing Cold waiting...”

I have had to visit the Corby branch twice within a month , first appointment was pre booked , sat for2 hours to get a slow puncture repair , they had a couple of young lads doing it who looked absolutely lost , now I know they would have been trained at some point , but they showed absolutely no urgency , the waiting room was freezing cold , they use to have free hot drinks vending machine at least if that was still there could maybe have warmed me up , apparently it was taken out when Covid was rife which I understand , but surely it could have been reinstated by now , as I said to the young manager who was very polite even if they reintroduced it and sold the drinks at cost I’m sure the customers would be grateful. So after waiting 2 hours for a slow puncture repair left the garage at long last , the very next day switched on my ignition to find a warning light back on for a under inflated tyre, back to the freezing cold waiting room. This time a very young manager said they couldn’t get me booked in to repair until 4pm the same day ( turned up at opening time no customers waiting) I did explain to him about my first visit , he said that was shocking and promised me when I return I wouldn’t have to wait , when I did return he took it upon himself to sort tyre in the kwik fit car park using a jack as all the garage lifts were in use ,why does this be done more regular, the amount of times I’ve been chased away because all the garage automatic lifts were in use , Anyway this young Manager was very helpful he said the puncture repair was not good and replaced tyre for a new one , I thanked him for the speed of sorting me out , got his name and sent a message to head office to say how helpful he was and this is the type of manager quality they need , also mentioned to the manager about the freezing cold waiting room and the lack of being able to get a hot drink in such a cold waiting room.

“Terrible Customer Service”

Booked my car in for a brake fluid change (on-line) and was given a 12 noon slot at Brighouse depot. On arrival I was asked to leave the car with them as they were busy and had lots of jobs in!!! They couldn't tell me when it would be ready! Honestly, that is a pretty useless response and begs the question, why give out time slots when they are meaningless???

“Wellingborough Kwik Fit Clown Fiesta”

Had an MoT booked at the Wellingborough depot at 4.45 on a Friday. Arrived on time to be told the had cancelled the MoT because the tester bumped his head. They said I should have had a phone call from the supervisor who was conveniently not in that day, the child who was acting as supervisor for the day with his smug grin could not offer anything, no alternative booking was attempted, no offer of a call to other depots, basically typical Friday afternoon response. Got his Managers phone number who basically said it was my fault and that I should not book my MoT on the day of expiry, then hung up me. Bunch of clowns

“Replace Mirror Bulb”

My daughter went to Uxbridge branch today in person to enquire when they could fit a new bulb behind her VW wing mirror... And was told very abruptly (I was present and overheard the conversation) they hadn't got a bulb, then when she explained that she actually has a bulb, she was told we haven't the time or staff to fit bulbs... She is a new driver and this is her first car. I would be very surprised if she ever visits Keik Fit again

“Shocking glossop branch”

I had my exhaust back box replaced once completed the manager said its still a bit noisy but it will quieten down its condensation its been 12 weeks it never did I had a m.o.t on car yesterday another garage I got advisory the exhaust is pressed to the foor of my car in time will burn of underseal of car went back to kwik fit they looked and said its nothing to do with them I asked why his it still noisy as well their response I don't know disgusting my advise avoid kwik fit

“Terrible experience with Slow Git”

I went to Kwik Fit Heanor Saturday for an oil change. Prepaid a day before. Arrived at 5min before booking time, 3h later they haven't looked at the car yet, 4h after arrival they gave the car back with more errors and warnigs than it came. Asked them to sort the "oil pressure low - stop safely" red warning they created in shop, they refused. I insisted and told them they fitted a part incorrectly and need to check. Service kid said "...but redlight is still on" tiller replied shouting his lungs out "I don't give a fword just send them away". I insisted still he refused to check their work. Next week I called KF in Lichfield where I was, told them the oil filter was the issue they refused to see me - "go back where you came from and sort it there, we're fully booked". Called Slowgit Heanor, told them the diagnosys, asked them to correct it he insisted it's not their and I need to do a service instead. Finally, I went to a 3rd party and determined Slowgit has fitted the oil filter incorrectly (forced it in, broke it/bent it so contact was imperfect). They knowingly endangered my and my kid's life because they could not be bothered to get another 10 pound oil filter they damaged during fitting. After 6 hours in shop for an oil change and a life threatening experience I got the money back, no apology.

“Multiple cancellations for MOT”

We booked an MOT for 10 days before expiry. The day before, Kwikfit phoned to say they had to cancel. The next available date was 2 days after expiry of the MOT. We couldn't find another convenient MOT station and so confirmed the new booking with Kwikfit with the understanding that we would not be able to use the vehicle for two days because the MOT was expired. The evening before the date of the second booking, we again received a phone call from Kwikfit cancelling the booking. The next availability was then another 8 days away!!! TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE

“Kwikfit - Charles st, LEICESTER - worst experience ever ”

Worst experience ever. You get better service from those tyre places next to a car wash!!! The reception is probably the dirtiest I've ever seen in a place! So many dead flies and insects all along the window cil, so many spider webs every where. I had to wait in this kind of reception area!! WILL NEVER USE AGAIN. Had a puncture on monday night. Called kwickfit to see if I can get mobile unit out they said earliest would be friday! If I take it into a centre, charles st, earliest is Wednesday if its booked in. If I just took it in without an appointment I would have to wait around and see if and when they can fit me in. So I chose the booked in option. Appointment booked for 11.30 for a tyre replacement / repair. Got there and the branch manager said leave me your keys and it will be done in an hour !!! What was the point for an appointment if I had to wait around ? I would have been better of just taking it into them on tuesday - I still would have been waiting around. An hour is up and he comes to me and says: compressor machine has stopped working, I cant fill air into the tyre! His staff (the only staff member that was there with him) has to take my tyre to abbey lane kwick fit to put air and ballance the wheel. 45 mins later = 1:15pm, the branch manager sitting at the desk just shouts! your good to go! My keys were just left on the other side of the desk, and I just happen to see them! No apology, no explanation as to what work has been done, wether it was a tyre replacement or if it was a repair. No thank you, No paper work, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. As I about to walk out of reception his colleague says if the tyre pressure light is still on give me a shout I'll sort it. I start my car reverse it and the light is still on, so I call him over and tell him the lights still on, He replies = well how far have you driven! I was confused and asked what do you mean, I just reversed the car. He then replies = did Mercedes not teach you how to use your car! I said no and he replied saying well you need to speak to Mercedes service team to show you things! He re-set the tyre pressure light, while he was being rude and sarcastic to me. I asked for his name and his boss name since it was only 2 of them, and he gave me the names and abruptly said why have you got a problem? I replied yes, the customer service is absolutley shocking and the experience is horrific, that's why. He then replies- I took your tyre in my own vehicle to abbey lane to get it sorted I dont know what's anymore customer experience than that!!! WOW!! I just like to point out a few extra bits: 1) kwick-fit or the staff including the manager you are not doing me any favours. 2) If you work on a car then it is your responsibility to re-set the menu / options. I.e if you take your car in for a service its the garage that would re-set the service menu!! 3) You need to be put in a training room and be taught how to provide the basic level of customer service and manners. 4) To be taught the bare minimum level of cleanliness / Hygiene (Dead flies, spider webs every where. I called the kwick fit customer service line and complaint about the lack of customer service and the experience I recieved - apprently i should recieve a phone call within 5 working days from the area manager after his / hers investigation!!. What good is a phone call going to be for me ?? I have also notified and complained to the car fleet dealership who advised me to use kwick-fit in the event of a flat tyre, so that they also are aware of the shocking customer service kwick fit provide to their customers

“Rebooted without telling me !!!”

A home visit was booked to replace two tyres on a mobility vehicle and the time frame was stated between 8am and 5.30pm. I am a carer for my three children and so cleared appointments and family had to stay at home all day. I waited in all day and no one had arrived by 5.30. Had to ring Kwik Fit and they told me that they had rebooted for two days time!!!! A phone call would have helped so that I could have replanted the whole day. NO COMMUNICATION

i have done full service two of my cars from kwikfit boscombe christchucrh road bournemouth after find out to checked with one of another garage and they confirmed that they have not replaced diesel filter and brake fluid at all so disappoint and would never visit them again be careful from kwikfit please

“Check internet site first”

Check online price first before you purchase Had a puncture which was on the side wall so needed a new tyre on my ford fiesta was charged £107 by Kwik Fit Deal Kent which i thought was a bit high but had no option but to pay. When i got home and checked the Kwik internet site the same tyre was being sold including fitting for £80. I have contacted Kwik Fit for an explanation but received no reply.Avoid at all cost !!!!

“Kwik Fit Truro - tyre repair”

Bank holiday Monday I visited Kwik Fit Truro as I noticed a nail in my tyre, the tyre wasn't deflating so I left it in until I could get to a tyre centre. I explained there was nail in the tyre and asked them to take it out to check if it was punctured and if so repair the puncture, I was advised a repair would be £25 (which is expensive but no other places were open) After approx 15 mins of looking over the rest of the car and taking photo's the member of staff removed the wheel. He then removed the valve stem to release the air, I approached him to ask if he'd taken the nail out to see if it was punctured, he replied saying he would take the tyre off to remove it from the inside. I asked him again to take it out to see if the tyre was punctured first because if there is no puncture there is no need to take the tyre off!!. Reluctantly he pulled the nail out and inflated the tyre which showed there was no puncture! He then fitted my wheel back on the car and when he handed the keys back he couldn't look me in the eye. If I had not approached him I'm guessing he would've continued to remove the tyre and charge me for a repair that wasn't needed or even worse a new tyre. I will never use Kwik fit again.

“Knaresborough branch”

I booked my wife's car in for a service at the Knaresborough branch and thought no more about it until I got home from work for her to tell me it had failed on loads of issues and was not safe to drive . I think they used a shock tactic to gain the work. When all they needed to do was advise her that in the near future three tyres would need replacing and the tyre seal was out of date , none of which were at or even near a legal limit and for the work they did they charged my wife an extra £300 and this was for a 165/60 13 Arrow tyres what they advertise as a low budget tyre. I thought Kwik fit was trying to get away from this sort of image that it has had for a long time .

“Replaced 2 tyres for no reason”

I went to them to get a tyre fixed. They replaced two tyres without telling me they were going to, then charged me 250 pound. I asked for my original tyres back. 'They couldn't find them' These are the 'boys not to trust' Should be looked into and shut down.

“Worse than Ryanair !!”

I thought id seen and dealt with the worse customer service company when id dealt with Ryanair,but this outfit on Whitworth Rd in Rochdale beats them hands down .More work in a self certificate sick form than these employees.3 HOURS ! to repair a puncture when all bays were empty and said with a grin on the face must be acceptable to previous punters.Hopefully this is one of many future buisness to go bang !!!

“incompetent technicians and management that cover for them”

I took my car here to get a simple tyre job done, they managed to over-tighten the wheels bolts to the point that they had to be cut off by another actual garage, the area manager contacted me and claimed to be there at the time and was involved during the whole job (so lucky) he said they didn't do anything and wasn't interested in anything, even when I pointed out that the technician that claimed to be involved in the work said that they had done it (I even recorded the conversation) he denied that too. kwik fit operate with an utter disregard for customers. AVOID them.

“BEWARE KWIKFIT WHEEL AIGNMENT ”

I've fitted 4 new tyres and then been told I need to do wheel alignment. They gave me £75 GBP quite over a phone, which is damn expensive, but I agreed as my car was in a garage already. But when I came to pick my car up, they gave me £160 GBP bill for wheel alignment! AVOID at all costs !!!

“Kwik fit damaged my car ”

I’m waiting for the regional manager to call me back. My car went for a Mot test and came back damaged. And no one is taking any responsibility. Why am I expected to pay for the mishandling of my car, this is beyond bad customer service. It's not only bad customer service it's unethical and illegal to try to make someone pay for a mistake that your employee made. Procedures should be in place ensure this doesn't happen again. The call back can take as long as it takes no timescale given by the account manager, how long is a piece of string! Meanwhile I’m left with a faulty seat. The button no longer functions as intended. The service at Altrincham Kwik fit is usually spot on, I could never fault them.. On drop off the button/control on the door all worked perfectly, and was confirmed by another employee. I asked the garage to check any cctv footage they have, as it will evident my use of it that day. The garage have said they can’t take responsibility, and the area manager advised he stands by what the garage have said, so what was the purpose of the call back. And I was asked how do you propose the damage? Well this begs the question how can you stand by what the garage has said if you wasn’t there either? I was fair, and asked can the damage just be sorted I don’t want a big ordeal, as I’ve been with out a car for 4 days. Nevertheless it went back for the retest and passed, with the fault still there caused by tester. How is that possible, and how does that work with the guidelines provided by the driver and vehicle standard agency? If anyone is deciding to get any work completed by kwik fit please take pictures and videos before handing in your car, you don’t want to end up with a ridiculous battle. To be honest don’t take the risk.

“Utterly abysmal!!”

Went there at about 09:30 this morning to had a tyre repaired. Booked a slot for 11:00. No problems booked in at 11:00 told them which tyre, all good so far. 15 minutes later was told that I needed new tyres, still not a problem. They didn't have my tyres so woulds have to order them in, still no problem. Told me it would cost a £100 more than the online price, then when i queried this it was brought down to only £20 more, for insurance allegedly. So I said no I don't want insurance and was told to order it online then. So I said ok I will do that then and in the meantime please plug my tyre until the new ones get here. No sorry we can't as we don't have any tyre repair kits as we're waiting for our delivery. Wait!!! So you are telling me that you have been stringing me along for 2 hours without being able to do what I initially asked you to do?!? Utterly shambolic money grabbers!
