Hotel, Pool And Waterpark Were Lovely. Were Very D
Hotel, pool and waterpark were lovely. Were very disappointed with the food, it was almost the same choice daily and warm rather than hot!!....the entertainment was very poor, very bad taste as it followed on from the mini disco and more often than not one of the entertainment team would cross dress and make sexual innuendos which were inappropriate for children!!...throughout the day he was very rude and arrogant most of the time, many people we were holidaying with noticed this!! god knows how he is still employed there he is a liability. The entertainment all in all was a sham, embarrassing to watch a grown man behave like this and think others would find it funny.....the ones who were in my laughing were in my opinion laughing out of embarrassment for him. The only other complaint was that the snacks during the day were non existent as it was towards the end of the season, this is what we thought we had paid for....there was no excuse.....if you are thinking of going here, take extra money with you for food as you can only barely survive on what is on offer. Excellent hotel and facilities when open.....food appalling. Get rid of the entertainer mentioned above and we may return.

First In My Experience This Is Not A 5 Star Hotel
First in my experience this is not a 5 star hotel ! 3 maybe.
An all inclusive where you have to pay for sunbeds drinks and the room safe's and are then pestered to pay for a greek night, oh and to pay to sit in the posh restaurant (seemed like the same food as the normal one just cleaner table clothes). The foods ok nothing special!. But I think this hotel is best suited to plane spotters!! If you stand on the roof you can almost touch them day and night. On the upside the room was clean and the pool a good size which was good as if you want to go in the sea you need your shoes on as there's no sand.

We Were Part Of A Group Of 21, 10 Adults And 11 Ch
We were part of a group of 21, 10 adults and 11 children and we all thought that the holiday staying at the Blue Bay Hotel was superb! The food was outstanding with plenty of variety, the pools were ideal and very clean, the aqua park which is situated just outside the resort was a great laugh for young and old, the rooms were spotless and the entertainment was good on times as well, although we felt that the entertainment was based around the Dutch and the Germans rather than catering for everybody. The staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. We also went into Old Rhodes Town on two occasions and I have to say the taxi ride we had in was the most informative I have ever been in. He told us all about the history of the island, where certain landmarks are, about all the different birds and butterflies which are situated around the island. That's how friendly we found the people in Rhodes.
We are all planning to go back in 2 years time when it's my wife's birthday.

Just Returned From The Blue Bay Hotel, Had 2 Weeks
Just returned from the Blue Bay Hotel, had 2 weeks there booked through Thomas Cook. What an excellent holiday very relaxing and certainly didn't want to come home. The hotel is very large and been modernized recently to a very good standard. The food hall could be a bit larger due to the volume of people getting their food. Had to queue a few times outside the hall. The food was very good with lots of choices. It was all freshly cooked and kept topped up. My kids always had a meal they liked. Plenty of different variety's, Chinese meals, carvery, salads, pasta dishes, Greek dishes. Puddings, fruit, ice cream.
The breakfasts were cooked English, pancakes, continental, fruit, cereals.
Lunch was like an evening time again with a full selection of everything.
The drinks were soft drinks, wine red & white and beer.
The room was air conditioned which cooled the room slightly, had a sea view which also looked over the pool area. The room was quite plush with TV double bed and 3 single beds. The bathroom was large enough with a very powerful shower and constant hot water.
We had green wrist bands which meant all inclusive, free sun beds and free aqua park up to 6 times. There were other colour wrist bands, but you didn't get free sun beds or aqua park. I think it depends on who you book your holiday through.
During the day the animation team were excellent, they really made the hotel. They weren't forceful into making you join in but most people wanted to anyway. They had water polo, darts, bowls, aqua aerobics and plenty of other activities.
The all inclusive drinks started at 10.00 till midnight which was soft drinks still and fizzy, red & white wine, beer, Brandy, ouzo, vodka, and one other I cant remember. Just have to watch how much you drink as they don't give you a measure, just fill your glass half full. And it is the full strength.
The pools were very good, the large one about 1.75m down to 1.25m which was good for lylos and dingies for the kids. The hotel was very family orientated with almost everyone having children. The mix was mostly Germans, Netherlands, Italians and English but more English was arriving by the day.
In the evening was the entertainment starting about 8.30 with the mini disco for kids and 9.30 was a play put on by the animation team. I cant praise the team enough for their efforts from 10.00 in the morning till 23.00 they don't stop. They made everyone laugh constantly, the man in charge made me laugh just by looking at him, the whole team work very hard with the kids and adults and the plays have you in fits off laughter.
The plane noise as advertised in the brochure is a bit deceiving. You are directly under the flight path with the planes about 400ft above you. It didn't bother us or anybody else and the noise only lasts about 10 seconds. You don't hear them in the room as it's double glazed.
The aqua park was fantastic right outside the hotel with about 6 slides ranging from slow to fast. Also had a kiddie bit with a pirate ship which looked good fun if you was a kid.
The beach at the back of the hotel was shingly but it wasn't the end of the world. The shingles only last about 6 ft into the sea then its a sandy bed. The sea was warmer than the pools.
There was windsurfs to hire and kite boarding, and jet bikes too.
All in all we had a fantastic holiday, we meet some lovely people and the children made loads off Friends. In our opinion we thought the hotel was just superb and doesn't deserve the ratings other people gave it. All the people we spoke too there said how lovely the hotel was and the food was very good too. I would recommend this to any family but you do need to watch who you book through as some people had to pay for their sun beds and aqua park.

What An Extremely Sad Holiday I Have Just Returned
What an extremely sad holiday I have just returned from. From the canned fruit served up daily to the dirty hallways and stairwells it just got worse! Even more so when I was asked to pay 3 euros per person to sit on a sunbed by the pool! In all my travels I have never been asked to pay to sit by the pool of the Hotel I am staying at but that just says it all I think. They rate it as a 5 star so do not be mislead ..this is a very poor representation of the rating the Greek Tourist Board is allowed to put on their hotels. There should be a serious petition taken from holidaymakers in the Uk who should refuse any rating other than UK standards when UK tourists are paying these prices to attend such a lousy outfit. I was even more disappointed in the staff and there absolutely lack of respect to anyone staying at this hotel. I am so glad to be out of there! You've been warned. This is at a push...2 star!

Our Holiday To Rhodes Was One Of The I Have Been O
Our holiday to Rhodes was one of the I have been on! Loads to do, good location, good food and great fun!
The entertainers were so fun and played lots of pool games and beach games in the day and entertained at night with a disco for an hour and entertainment until around 10.30. The beach is right next to the hotel and gives a cool breeze so you get tanned without realising how hot it is! The main pool is big and allows lilo's and kids boats, which some other hotels don't allow. The kids love the big pool, there is also a kiddies pool and other pools around the complex. The snack bar is right next to the main pool and the beach and had basic food. Mainly small pasties, chips, little frankfurters, salad and bread, sometimes pasta or pizza.
The rooms were modern and seemed brand new, and cleaned daily. Our fridge was stocked and we got a bathrobe/slippers package and fruit basket because we went with First Choice, which seem to be the best people to go with! The waterpark was small but great fun for adults and kids with a pirate ship and fountains and slides. The food was good quality, cooked in front of you with an open kitchen, very fresh, good variety. Every night they had a couple of pasta dishes, always had spaghetti and sauce, lots of salads and cheese, a fish option every night, a couple of meat dishes, a carvery, chips, vegetables and
lots of vegetarian options. I didn't like the desert buffet much but lots did - basically angel delight, yoghurt, a bit of fruit (watermelon, grapes or pears) and cake. The drinks were better than I thought; orange juice, apple, water, sweet cloudy lemonade, lemon/lime and cola, orangeade.
The location: the beach is so close and lots of sunbeds. Sandy but stones line the shore so take sandals or jelly shoes it also has a volleyball court, the centre of Ialysos is 20 minutes walk along the beach and full of bars and shops, a few bars on the same road as the hotel but not much. The bus stop was round the corner about 5 minutes walk, and we only waited a little while there is a bus every 15 minutes. Rhodes town is 15 minutes away on the bus (€1.80) or taxi (€11) and you go through Ixia. The Old part of Rhodes town is great at night, loads of bars, tavernas and trinket shops. New town isn't too great. Next to the hotel there is a bar called Mike's bar, it serves the best pitta Giros (Kebabs) for €1.80, pizzas etc. and cocktails.
Overall the holiday was really good not much to complain about which is good! I recommend it for families of all ages, a lot of couples went and people with small children and also teens. It was one of the best holidays we've had and I would recommend it. A lot of people write bad reviews, but they weren't true for the time I was there! Great holiday!

My Family And My Friends All Worked Really Hard To
My family and my friends all worked really hard to be able to stay at the the Blue Bay Hotel in Trianda. So when you arrive and find it's a beautiful hotel to look at, you think 'we did well here'. But the reception staff treated us poor. I personally feel this is because we were British and the way they treated Germans seemed different. Simple things like asking a kettle to make a coffee in the morning (because their coffee was horrible) was like you were asking for a kiss of Brad Pitt! We never got one or an iron. The hotel caters more for German people than Brits - there was a notice poster up advertising the water park, it was all written in German not one in English! The reception staff speak fluent German. The dining area felt like market. Lots of people queuing for their tea. It was hot (no air con) so when we finally got our food and found a table, we were all sweaty and sticky. If you could pick up the entertainment staff and move them to a good hotel, where you've stayed before, you would have a fantastic holiday!
This is funny! I live in England but I'm originally Dutch so I am like an outsider looking in. Everywhere I go on holiday it's English/British spoken and orientated. To be honest it gets a bit much sometimes, but hey: you cope. I just find it funny then that when it's not English orientated, but in this case German, British people complain. The real shame is that a lot of the culture of so many holiday locations gets changed to a certain extent to suit holiday makers. Like I said often for the British. I just wish that you could go to a foreign country and not be bombarded with 'english breakfast' and 'sunday roast' or in that case 'german sausage' wherever you go and instead get more authentic local food - broaden your horizon!

The Blue Bay Hotel Was A Short Walk Away From A Bu
The Blue Bay Hotel was a short walk away from a bus stop, which took us into Rhodes town, although the timetable wasn't too accurate and we waited quite a while. A taxi will cost around 12 Euros one way and it is well worth it. We found everyone to be very friendly and helpful, although the reception staff at the hotel could have smiled a bit more and offered help, rather than wait for you to ask. We had a late night flight on the way home so we asked to keep our room for a late check out. They charged us 30 Euros until 6pm that evening or 50 Euros if you wanted to keep the room until the minute you had to leave, which was reasonable. Before we had our holiday here, I read lots of bad reviews and panicked! A lot of the older reviews were done before the hotel was upgraded, so don't let them put you off. I'm sure you will have a fabulous time, just like we did. We aim to return next year but will book direct through the hotels reservations department. Apparently it works out at a fraction of the cost!
Some people love to moan about their holidays but at the end of the day, its what you make it!
Enjoy!

The Blue Bay Complex Seems To Cater Mainly For Ger
The Blue Bay Complex seems to cater mainly for German people (the ones i spoke to were always pleasant, speaking very good English (shame us Brits don't go out of our way to be bi-lingual.) Plenty to do for the kids. I had an enjoyable week there and contrary to other comments the airplanes are not that bad.

Blue Bay Hotel: The Area Is Bad And It Is Rig
Blue Bay Hotel:
The area is bad and it is right under the flight path, so when it says some air craft noise can be heard it means you can read the writing on the side of it and it rounds out the conversation. You found yourself having to walk nearly an hour to the nearest village with any activity in it what so ever. We only had supermarkets. The bar staff actually gave my 8 year old cousin beer and sprits at the bar (he took this upon him self to ask for the drinks, which he did bring to us, but there is the option that he could have drunk them himself and also given them to other children) the hotel was clean enough and the maid did come in every day. The room safe was not fastened on to the wall so if someone was to get in to your room they could just walk right off with it.
I'm not German and my family had a higher level room, our neighbours were also English. There is a children's menu, the food is constantly brought out warm. Yes the Blue Bay is under the flight path but you get used to it. The staff are fantastic and I am going again this year, my 11th year and worth every penny.
