Rhodes, Meliton Hotel

We have just returned from the Meliton Hotel in Thelos in Rhodes. When we arrived at the airport the taxis were on strike so got the local bus that took 15 minutes to the top of the lane to the hotel. The driver was very helpful and told us where to get off and walk 5 minutes to the hotel. When we arrived the receptionist booked us in and took us straight to our room. This was basic but spotlessly clean as was everywhere in the hotel and grounds. The food was well cooked and tasty, it is greek based but we knew this by other reviews but there was always pasta and salads. There wasn't huge choices of different dishes but the hotel only has 50 rooms and is a family run hotel so there was enough. At breakfast the was scrambled eggs, beans and sausages as well as continental and cereal. There was entertainment three a week but everyone just enjoyed chatting to each other and getting to know each other. We took our 13 year old daughter who made friends within 30 minutes and though no pool entertainment wasn't bored once. overall the whole holiday was a cheep break in the sun for fantasic value in the school holidays we would definately go back though people were moaning as usual what do they expect for the price?! 5*!!!

this hotel is perfect if you are looking to do nothing but spend you time relaxing in the sun by the pool. it is a small family run hotel and they make you feell very welcome, the kids loved the burgers and chips on offer and we were just happy to be in the sun. be warned that it is quiet far away from rhodes town, but if you are not looking to go partying at night or anything then it's fine.

we booked our hotel with a company called low cost holidays and we also rented a car there as well, so we could get around in the day.

This hotel was quiet and well kept. However, it's too far from Rhodes town about 45 minutes on the bus. 3/4 of a mile from bus stop back from Rhodes, up a dark road, there were no lights, so I couldn't see where I was going. Communication with some of the staff was difficult at times. Food was not to my liking. Would return to Rhodes but definitely not this hotel!
