Horrible Company Unhelpful Staff

I had the misfortune of using this company after going through the comparison website Compare The Market.

I thought being linked to such a large comparison company they would be reputable and trustworthy.

There were so many problems from my original appointment being shifted around a few times because the mortgage adviser had an emergency to we are having problems with the telephone line.

When I eventually got to speak to an adviser he was aggressive to me when asking questions, very unhelpful when I was asking him questions about things I never understood and his grasp of speaking English very poor - I understand this outfit are based in Scotland - but the chap I spoke to was muffled, kept repeating himself adding in weird phrases like "as I said"pretty much every time he would say something.

I should have known early in the process not to go ahead but I was in a rush to get a re-mortgage sorted and my last broker was on holiday. The MQ advisor sent me some information by email of what he needed and I sent it back straight aay only to be told what I sent wasn't sufficient. We went back and forth 3 or 4 times and I eventually had enough. I went direct to the lender and was asked for one payslip.

This lot were looking for:

4 payslips

4 month worth of bank statements

A P60

Also requested a copy of my passport and a utility bill.

Something not right about them needing so much and the building society needing so little.

They also anted to charge me £395 for the service. although they did say nothing paid until offer was issued. I pulled the plug on them. When I tried getting my documents back from them that was a nightmare too. I'm so glad I never went ahead.

God knows what else might have happened, I wish I had checked this site prior to contacting them.

Misleading Product. Dodgy Company

On the "Mortgage Illustration" document, it has listed the fee that I will need to be paying once the mortgage is completed. It has included items such as land registry fee. However, it missed a very important item - the solicitor fee.

We rang them a few times and they keep saying that there will be no other fees apart from some small ones such as bank transfer etc.

On the completion day, when we are charged the solicitor fee, we challenged the mortgage adviser but his answer is that the because the mortgage product has £500 cash back, so that I need to pay for the solicitor fee. This has never been explained before and not being listed in the "Mortgage Illustration" document at all (where the £500 cashback is listed there).

Super Service, Very Quick Offer

I stumbled across this site when I had sent documents and I was full of dread when I read the latest review. But in my experience nothing could have been further from the truth. My advisor had initial GC and he had an assistant L who kept me updated. When I sent back my documents I got a call the next day thanking me and to advise my application would be going to the lender that day as everything was in order.

The lender instructed the valuation within 48hrs it was done within 5 days I think and my offer issues all within 14 days in total. I now just seen the solicitor to arrange completion and my debts can be repaid and my kitchen renovation can be completed.

5 star service.

Seller Nearly Ditched Us Because Of This Company

I never tend to leave reviews but we very nearly lost the deal - and still may - on our first home because of the incompetence of this company. We got our AIP, sent them all the documents and three or four times they have now come back to us saying they need more! We had our AIP in May, it is now the nearly mid-June and still no sign of us progressing and our vendor is on the verge of ditching on the house we are desperate for.

We have now ditched them and have gone with the estate agent advisor, who was flabbergasted at what they were asking for. I'm not suggesting there is anything crooked going on, I think it is just sheer incompetence.

If you want to buy a home, do NOT go with MoneyQuest, which, when I suggested we were on the verge of losing our house, showed no sympathy or care for their customer.

Just to update further I have now received my offer from the lender and paid the broker fee.

What did they ask for? I am in the process of using them just now and everthing seems fine. But I only sent away my documents 3 days ago.

Beyond Poor

Was advised to proceed with a deal that later turned out not to exist. Agreed to proceed on another offer that came apart at the seams, no offer, no satisfaction. It turns out that the management team are well known in the industry for being fly by nights. Dont touch them with a barge pole.

Terrible Service - Avoid!

Where do I start - this company advised they were going to call me back at an agreed time. Did I receive the call. Yes at 8.30am the next morning when I had requested the call to be for 7.30pm the previous evening. I am a 1st time buyer and was looking for all options available. I spoke with an "experienced" mortgage consultant who didn't seem to have a clue what he was talking about! I could've found out more by stopping someone in the street. All in all a very bad service received from this business and would recommend you to avoid!

A Disgrace, They Should Have Their Fsa Approval Revoked... Do Not Use!!!!!!

For the last six months I have been using the services of moneyquest as brokers for my re-mortgage. They suggested a company called Platform, which is part of the co-operative group! Very early on, it was agreed that the financial proofs given were enough to justify borrowing a small amount of 40k against a flat worth approx 125k, they charged me £300 or so for "underwriting & survey". The property was tenanted, Platform insisted that I prove my intention to move into my property by altering my voter roll registration, they would not have the survey which i had paid for done until I this was confirmed, I did so, they then said this wasnt good enough and that I must move into the property first and so I gave my tenant their notice and had all bills changed into my name (i kept my rented accomodation as the borrowing is partly to remodel the flat). The survey was carreid out and was deemed satisfactory but after six months of jumping through moving hoops, they have now turned round and said that they are refusing it because they are not happy with the financial proofs. To top it all off, they have made entries on my credit file that make it look like i've applied 15 odd times with them so now borrowing elsewhere is unlikely!

Ive Used Moneyquest A Number Of Times For My Mortg

Ive used MoneyQuest a number of times for my mortgage and B2L's. Very happy with the service and everyone seem so happy to help.

They did introduce a broker fee a couple of years ago, however even when you take this into account, and the time they save you - it's extremely good value for money - Most broker fee's Ive seen recently are closer to £500 !

All in all, a very good company to deal with, I managed to get one of there 'Exclusives' which was a lot better than the telegraph best buys table..

I Would Never Ever Use This Awful Company Again. T

I would never ever use this awful company again. They have the most incompetent staff and management that barely have any knowledge of the mortgage market or how to deal with customers. The only positive thing about their service is they give you free quotes, so take those free quotes and go direct to the lenders saving you having to pay a brokers fee. Their insurance rates are ridiculous too. SO I would definitely NOT use them for insurance and have a look for IFA's in your area or better still use a search engine as the customer service from a search engine is probably better than what you would receive from these dim-wits!
