All though we were a little dismayed because of the lack of restaurant on site, there were plenty of places to eat near by and we were within easy reach of Alvor town centre.

The Alvor Club Alvor Golf Apartment Block In The A
The Alvor Club Alvor Golf apartment block in the Algarve was basic, but it had all the necessary facilities. It was clean and tidy. The pool area was clean and safe, with enough sun loungers to save squabbles! The staff were very helpful and polite.
All but one of the restaurants we visited served excellent food!
Quinta Nova apartment complex is on the same site, and provided you purchased your drinks etc. they had no problem with you using their facilities.
We were 1 mile from town, but there was a courtesy bus 4 times per day to get us to the town centre and the beach.
The town itself was small and quiet, which we found ideal as we had our two children aged 2 and 9 years. As yet the town is relatively unspoilt and has yet to become a loud, brash resort full of clubs and bars.
There could be more for the kids to do in town, but I expect this will happen as more land is developed to accommodate more apartment blocks!
The on-site supermarket was expensive, and the staff were impatient if you didn't have the correct change!
All in all, we enjoyed this holiday which I would recommend to anyone with small children - although I would say your pushchair is essential due to the steep streets!

The Alvor Golf Block Was Not The Same As The Pictu
The Alvor Golf block was not the same as the picture in Airtours brochure, (block 1). It has a small swimming pool, and does not have any sun till about 10.45. The apartments although spacious were very dirty when we arrived, although the bedding had been changed, some towels had not. The towels were very old and so hard you were unable to use them. The only place that was ever kept clean was the Reception area. I never ever saw the stairs being cleaned, and there were cigarette ends on the stairs when we arrived and still there when we left two weeks later. Many people refused to stay, and some were transferred (at a cost), unfortunately I could not afford it. I have seen the brochure for 2005, and the correct apartment block is shown this year. Water is very scarce between 6.00-8.00, and we had not hot water for the first 5 days of our holiday. There are much better places to stay in Alvor.
