My Corsa SRi cdti is fantastic. I have had a bit of work done to the engine and exaust. Now getting 176 bhp at 2700 rpm. (dyno tested) purformance is electric. Form 20mph the car will instantley go. Fuel economy is still very good im still getting 42 mpg even with mods. Generally the car is fantastic, and it still felt solid and stable. Its midrange performance is equil if not better than the VXR (friend has one). Would well recomend. cdti over 16 turbo.

I have had my Corsa SRI CDTI for about 2 years now. I bought it from my local Vauxhall dealer when it was just over a year old. It is now about to run out of warranty. I say this because in the time that I have had it , it must have spent over 2 months in the garage (on and off) and the A.A assistance that comes with the car has been useful as most of the time it goes, the dealer is on the back of a recovery truck !. The biggest problem with the car was that it kept stalling and then wouldn't start this was eventually fixed after about 5 trips to the dealer !!!. The only other problem I have is the poor handbrake which if you do not pull so hard that you nearly brake you arm will roll away. I have also noticed that nearly all other Vauxhall's with this powerplant comes with disc brakes all round and maybe this one should have too ! .

I only had mine for a short time and I can already say that the fuel costs are pretty low, I'd get about 110 mpg out of 10 pounds and I put my foot down a lot. only problem I got is a rattley sound from engine when I'm driving [only when the engine is cold] I'm trying to find out what that is and get it fixed.

This Vauxhall Corsa 1.7 SRI CDTI is my 4th Corsa and easily my favourite. A great car to drive. Acceleration from 0 to about 25 is OK but requires fairly swift gear changes from 1st to 2nd. It's only when you get above 30 and the turbo kicks in that you really appreciate the power. At about 2400 rpm the turbo start whistling and off you go! The torque from the engine is awesome hardly any loss of performance when fully loaded or carrying a roof box/bikes etc. The suspension is tight and with the low profile 17inch 195 tyres the car is just glued to the road round twisty bends and powers out onto the straights. Sheer joy! Motorway driving is effortless and the car will happily sit at 85 (in Germany I have to add) all day BUT still has the power to take you swiftly to 100 and beyond - makes overtaking easy. The level of trim is up to Vauxhall's usual standard - poor! Particularly considering the price of the car. With careful use of the right foot you should get nearly 65mpg - even thrashing it you'll get well over 450 miles from the 10 gallon tank. Insurance group is 6E so not too bad considering the performance. The sports front seats are very comfortable and the ride is great - in the front! In the rear it can be a bit uncomfortable for passengers when driven at speed over uneven surfaces. Not a family car then! The CD 6 speaker sound system is OK but don't expect 5kW Alpine Dolby5.1 performance! Instrument panel is well lit and well laid out. Gear change is crisp and positive. The electronic accelerator (no wire) is responsive and the brakes - like all Corsas - are excellent. A great wee car which can surprise many other motorists with its performance.
