In Half Moon Bay, California, acrimonious Ian "Cat" MacPherson lives in a wheelchair because his apprentice Alex Farrell betrayed him when they robbed the O Milagre from the Sodre Mansion in Brazil. While Alex escaped to become wealthy, Cat remained in prison for three decades. Though he lives for vengeance, he considers suicide until he catches young Tasya Flynn breaking into his home. Thinking this is fate, he sees the nimble Tasya as a means of vengeance by teaching her to become a cat burglar, who steals the stone and returns it to its rightful owner.
As Cat trains Tasya, they fall in love, though both hide their feelings. During the burglary, Ian dies while Tasya escapes with the magical healing stone. In mourning she returns the stone to its rightful owners only to learn that the O Milagre can transport someone back in time. If she can go to 1972, she could warn Cat not to trust Alex and save his life, but to do so, she risks all, including the man she fears, Richard Zane, knowing she still lives.
RUN NO MORE is a romantic crime thriller with fantasy elements that hooks the reader from the moment that Ian catches Tasya breaking into his home. The tale takes off at a rapid speed and then twists with the shocking death of the hero. Fans will appreciate the desperation of Tasya to find a way to use the O Milagre to try to save the life of her mentor whom she loves with all her heart. Catherine Mulvany provides an entertaining action-packed tale with cross-genre appeal.
