I have several JJ's as well as an Elite set (two piece barrel set), all JJ. I've tried various custom barrels from California, Freaks, Smart Parts, etc. I have a number of these barrels for my spyder-threaded markers.
This barrel is excellent bang for the buck, is very well made and good for average size ball. Anyone getting breaks in the barrel is either using ball that is too large for the barrel (know the sizes everyone) or is getting a bolt chop.
Quite apart from being a good standard barrel, the main point about this barrel is that it is ceramic coated, which means barrel breaks cause less problems: the barrel (almost) cleans itself. This saves you time with your squeegee as you can "shoot through" breaks.
As for barrel length, unless you have any special needs (e.g., a long barrel for a certain "look", or like to have a long barrel to poke thru bushes, anything over eight inches is a waste. don't believe me? Search Warpig and WebDog for documented proof.
And no, they do not give you extra range. Only extra speed (illegal) or a ball spinning device (Apex, Flatline) will giv you that. Again, Webdog has a video demo to show this.

I like this barrel but regret getting 20'' version unless you like sneaking around and poking through hedges and mercy killin you adversaries...

The J&J Ceramic is an excellent barrel for its price. I have found the accuracy to be better than most in its price range but if I were to get a barrel it would be an All American (which I have) the extra money is definitely worth it. However, if you don't want to spend the money, the J&J will do quite well. This barrel often chops balls though which can become a pain. The barrel is not glossy, which decreases looks but is more efffective during play because the sun will not shine off it and give you away. Good barrel for its price.

I have had the J&J Ceramic paintball barrel for about 3 months. I got it in the 14" version. It is a very nice barrel. It is very accurate with the paint I shoot (it can be a little picky on paint because of the small inside diameter). It is also quieter than the other barrel I have, but it is not as quiet as the 32 degrees wisper barrel, but these barrels come in longer lengths, whereas the wisper only comes in a 14". I have never broken a ball in this barrel (I don't really know if that has more to do with the barrel or the gun). I also like the looks of this barrel, and that the finish is a matte black. The price is very fair too. For the price you pay you will be hard pressed to find a better barrel.
