We saw our Thomson rep the next morning with the rest of the people who were not happy with our situation, the rep was only geared up for the teenagers on holiday so was very unhelpful to us all, we pointed out that the coach driver had dropped off many teenagers at very quiet apartments a long walk from the main town where we were and on meeting some of them said they would happily have swapped accommodation with all of us. Three couples moved accommodation at a cost to them, we could not as we did not have the funds to do so. The apartments were terrible. Whoever approved these apartments must be blind, the older couple filmed the apartments and are going to send their evidence to watchdog, we had to make the best of our holiday for our children's sake but it was hard going.

Flew from Glasgow to Larnaca with My Travel and never again. Crushed up like livestock, great potential for DVT. On return flight (2am?) plane was delayed for one hour with no explanation from desk staff, but when pressed they stated that plane was refueling (don't they all have to do that?). Then when we got aboard were further delayed by problem with faulty toilets. Never again.

I would never fly with My Travel ever again. We have just returned from Las Vegas, 10 hours each way, there was no room to move, my husband who is 6 foot could not sit with his legs facing forward as the passenger in front had his seat reclined from take off to landing. The seats should not be able to recline if there is not enough leg room for the person sitting behind. The food was barely there, nowhere near enough for such a long flight and the cabin crew on the return flight were ignorant, slow and couldn't have looked more like they didn't want to be there if they tried. Overall I would not recommend My Travel to anyone.

I would definitely not recommend My Travel. I have just returned from a 9 hour each way flight to the Dominic Republic. If you are going on a long flight I would not recommend flying with them. Although I have short legs, I was so cramped in my seat and the people in front of me, with extra leg room, also felt the need to recline their chairs, this made my journey totally miserable.

Travelled to Mallorca on my summer holidays with 2 young children. Excellent service and great in-flight meals on both flights. It was the first time I've ever managed to eat anything on a flight. Well done My Travel. My first ever flights with you were definitely not my last!! Would recommend to all and would use again.

We flew with My Travel to Egypt in May, and we had a good flight sat in premium gold seats, although they are just classed as extra leg room as it was only a short haul flight, but we have just come back from Florida, and never again would we do a long haul with My Travel. My partner went to the front of the plane to ask for a drink, and she was told to go the back as this was FIRST CLASS. Don't make me laugh. I'd want better seats and service than that if it was first class. We paid for a meal for 3 of us and it was not edible. I've flown with some airlines and found the food to be average, but also as standard you get a meal anyway as it's long haul. Most of the air crew were great, but you always get one snooty one.

We had no problems at all when we flew with My Travel in May 2005. Clean aircraft, lovely flight with friendly staff. Food was the best we have ever had from an airline. Good in-flight entertainment. No problems with luggage. Will use again and highly recommended.

Check in easy both ways. No delays both ways. Trolley dollies were exceptional & extremely friendly & polite. Had plenty of room outbound, depsite being in economy. Tip: seemed far more room at back of the plane than in the middle. Get there early to have more choice or get there late so you get stuck at the back! Gobsmacked at how nice the inflight meal was. Coming home my only complaint was the fat guy in front who's weight carried the seat 2 inches from my face. Don't think My Travel can ban fat people tho! Heard whispers at airport that My Travel were infamous for being the last to board & leave coz someone doesn't like em somewhere. We weren't kept waiting long tho. Loved our hotel - Maingate West Quailty Inn. Only rated 1 star but, we were most impressed. Can't comment on the rep. Only really needed her/saw her once to check on return flights. All the contact info was kept in hotel lobby. Just booked another holiday with them this year.

Myself and my friend booked a holiday to Tunisia with My Travel. It was a Super-saver 3* holiday, where the hotel and resort are named on arrival. When we arrived at Monastir airport, we were told by the tour operator that we would be staying in Hammamet, at the Hotel Dalia.
Our holiday was not a satisfying holiday! Whilst staying at the Hotel Dalia, we were badgered by the hotel entertainers, which meant we had to go to the beach to avoid constantly being badgered to join in with the games, or thrown into the pool. On one occasion, because my boyfriend was sunbathing and listening to his CD player, I said that he did not want to join in, so the entertainer threw a ball at him, which hit my boyfriends arm. We approached the rep and told her of this, she said that she would have a word with the entertainers boss. This still didn't seem to have any effect, as they still continued to badger us to join in with the pool games. There was also one occasion where one of the entertainers asked my boyfriend a very personal question about myself, to which I got very annoyed, and told him in no uncertain terms to stop asking those questions about me, as I found it very rude and personal. This made me very uncomfortable when sitting around the pool, and my boyfriend wouldn't go too far from me in case they approached me. We were unable to report this incident to the rep, as we didn't seem to see her very often in the hotel.
The only sanctuary we had, was that we had booked a 2 day excursion to the Sahara, which really made the holiday for us.
The hotel was very basic, with no added amenities. Everything that is usually included to make your stay comfortable had to be paid for i.e. a fridge. My boyfriend is a diabetic and his insulin should have been kept in the fridge, but as there were charges, we had to store it in a dark place in the wardrobe. The hotel frowned upon you if you purchased goods outside of the hotel, so any cold drinks you wanted to have in your room, would have to be purchased in the hotel, which was more expensive than the shops across the road.
I have recently gone onto Hotel Dalia's website, and what they are offering on their site is definitely not what you get! The food, when you book as half board, is repetitive, and is the same every morning and evening. When I requested Olive Oil and Vinegar to add flavour to my salad, the waiter said they did not have any, but I did notice that the owner, who ate in the dining room every day, had these items on his table!
It is very disappointing also, to find out that the owner of the hotel owned the restaurants and supermarket around the corner, and they did the same meals as the hotel, so there was nowhere else to eat if you wanted to, unless you travelled a distance. At our welcome meeting, we were told there would be local traditional cuisine, that did not happen! I seemed to only eat salad and chips, and the only meat dishes were chicken and one fish, along with pasta. There was no local cuisine, such as CousCous, or Brick, etc...
They advertise very comfortable rooms, with a fridge, Satellite T.V., and cooking amenities. We did have a cooker, but it did not work, and there was no crockery or cutlery to use if it did! The only good thing about the room during the day, was that we were at the poolside, but in the evening, we were very restless due to the entertainers playing excessive load rap music until the early hours.

In January 04, booked a holiday with Going Places (My Travel/Panaorama), to stay at The Grand Makadi, Egypt. The tickets issued showed our resort as Le Meridien. The mistake was pointed out to Panorama. But Going Places, failed to contact or rectify prior to departure. The matter reported on arrival at resort, but again nothing done. Resulting in disappointment and loss of enjoyment of our holiday. A complaint as been lodged. But already they anticipate 28 day's before a reply is made.

I travelled on My Travel on 21st Oct 2004 going to Florida, what a disaster On arriving to the airport checking in the baggage at Gatwick we were told the flight was delayed for 2 hours which was annoying but I accepted it as it was only 2 hours, Then after those 2 hours it was delayed for a further 2 hours which was getting even more annoying but to my surprise they delayed it even more in total the amount of hours it was delayed was 8 hours and all My Travel did to compensate its customers was offer a £5 voucher to spend on food only in the airport, where as I had spent a total of £100 of my own money trying to pass time in the bar eating etc..
How very disappointed I was with this airline I for one do not recommend this airline to anyone do not get caught up in the fact cause its cheap and cheerful I would have rather paid the extra travelling on BA or Virgin for better service and the flight leaving on time. This is the last thing you want when you are travelling out on a holiday
P.S it was also delayed for 2 hours leaving from Sanford Orlando.

I am always amazed when people complain about delays in their flights. Would you rather fly on a defective aircraft and risk being killed? No, I thought not. Personally I would rather they cancel my flight and holiday than be put at risk. Delays cost the airlines money and only happen when absolutely necessary. Maybe you should remember this.

I think you should remember that airlines, such as BA and Virgin, also have delayed aircraft nothing to do with cheap and cheerful. I have flown with MyTravel a number of times and have had nothing but excellent service, and this includes a delay of 7 hours. Your holiday doesn't sound like a "disaster" it sounds like you had a delay of 8 hours.

We too were delayed for over four hours, I'm not sure if you can blame the tour operator for that. Usually it's because the cheap and cheerful charter flights are unreliable. We flew Monarch and they were great (once we had got going) If the tour operators used scheduled flights then they would be much more reliable but much dearer.

I went on holiday with My Travel Tour operators in Belmadena, Cost del Sol. It was shabby, this is the best I can say, just like the old days in the 70's when you got NIL points for the holiday or hotel!!!
Service on site, Really poor, full and I mean full of GUNK luckily it was fenced off for most of the 14 days we were there. Chickens ran in the gardens to keep the cockroaches down, neat biological way of pest control eh!! I saw a review on holiday truths and did'nt believe it, LESSON learned...

The rep had no IDEA! the complaint's department at HQ were like a chocolate tea pot, and a miserly sum was refunded which covered the cost of the damaged suitcases at stansted, all togeather really POO.

my travel took us to benalmedena. should have stayed at home this was in 2003 so things no better. we were delayed 3hrs going out from leeds bradford and delayed about 10 hrs coming home. They did feed us us and give us drinks so really they did what they could , but i lost a days pay . I try to avoid my travel all together.

I booked a last minute deal through My Travel in June 2004. I would like to share my experience of this company with others.

Booking
Booking over the phone was really easy, I got through straight away on a Saturday morning. The lady who answered was very professional and understood what I was looking for. I wanted a 2 week holiday to Cyprus costing approx £200 per person going the next day (which may be quite a challenge at that time of year!). The girl came up with a 4 star guaranteed allocation on arrival flying from my first choice airport, to Larnaca for £203 per person. Allocation on arrival suited my boyfriend and I as we couldn't decide which resort to go to!

The Plane
The plane was clean and tidy. Staff were very polite throughout the journey. The entertainment was brilliant out bound - two block buster films! The way back was a little disappointing though. Food wasn't very nice, but then again I don't suppose you can expect it be! The only thing my boyfriend complained about is that the seat in front was to close and he couldn't sit properly (he is 6 foot 3 though.

Transfers
We landed at Larnaca at 4.ooam, the luggage was brought to us very quickly, the reps waited for us at arrivals and told us where we would be staying and which coach to get on. It took about 1 hour for the transfer; we were the third drop off. All in all a fast and efficient transfer!

The hotel
We ended up in Ayia Napa, My boyfriend looked a little worried as he had the impression that Ayia Napa is a 24 hour party resort. Anyway, our first impressions of the Panas Village Apartments was really nice, clean and well air conditioned. As we checked in, we got a little map to help us around the complex. We soon found our room and were very happy, it was very spacious; it had an oven, toaster kettle and hob. The bathroom was sparkling and we had a shower, bath and shower curtain which is a rarity in Greece! The rep had left us a welcome pack and some info of the island. The welcome meeting was at 9am; since it was 6am when we arrived we decided to give it a miss! We don't normally go on the excursions that reps sell anyway.

The rep
I can't comment on the rep as I never saw her, I think her duties were around twice a week, so we missed her. There are emergency numbers on the notice board if needed though.

Summary
All in all we had a great relaxing holiday and would defiantly book with My Travel again!

The plane was excellent. Very clean and tidy. The staff were brilliant. they were very helpful. The plane had good entertainment, with small tvs with films and shows played and some reading material. The flight went brilliantly, no delays or anything. the inflight meal was of a good standard. It was a very quick and safe flight. It was very good value for money. Fly with mytavel every chance you get. You will not be let down.

I Went To Salou For A Holidy from East Midlands Airport, flying with MyTravel. The Flight There Was On Time Even Though We Did Hold The flight Up. The flight back was 20 mintues late but that was fine. The flight attendents were excellent. we didn't get a meal as it was only a 2 hour flight. But other people did and they said it was good. There was great leg room, and you weren't squashed.

Phoned them up to pay the balance and they told us that our names were the wrong way around. (Christian name/Surname). To correct this we would have to pay an administration charge of £30.00 per person. This is £60.00 for them to change our names around.

Air conditioning broken in section of seating made the whole flight unbearably cold. Staff very unfriendly, almost made to feel bad for asking for assistance, miserable tired ageing faces, hehe behaving like their supermodels er.....no. Food tasteless but then is'nt most flight food, had to pay for drinks prior to meal should this have not been included in the flight deal? Limited 3 TV channels to watch not easy to operate and had to listen to the volume with only one earphone working very annoying not an earphone fault but an internal audio fault
Delayed charter flight flew from Montego Bay to Manchester due to leave for London Gatwick after change of staff but due to staff being unable to count how many passengers were supposed to be on board delayed take off for an hour, left sitting waiting on runway with no refreshments or entertainment and apologies made once with non progressive announcements made every 10 min Will never fly with them again!

I prebooked inflight meals when the tickets arrived they said no inflight meals on them after a forty minute wait on the phone I was told by Thomas Cook they were on our booking and not to worry, at checkin I asked again only to be told there were no meals for us and it was to late to do anything about it but they would be onboard for the return flight! and guess what they wern`t.
In flight entertainment didn't work, seats were crowded no leg room

This is a cheap airline and if you bear that in mind you wont go wrong. I feel many of the people traveling on these flights who complain are either inexperienced travelers or people who expect Concorde treatment. You aint going to get it. I've travelled 3 times with my travel to Mexico, Dominican Republic and Las Vegas. No trouble or frills. The crews on all my flights have been fine and I must praise the check in crew at Manchester who despite being a rainy day at 5.30am, managed to be bright and cheery, GREAT. You pay for what you get and what you get is to your destination cheap. If you want more pay more.
