“NeverBank Says It Better”

The intro rate on Money Market Accounts is tolerable, but the account opening process is much more cumbersome than other banks. Also, delivery of online statements is inconsistent, and responses from customer service seem to be written by cretins. I say "never again".

“WORST customer service ”

This company has WORST customer service of ANY bank I EVER had to deal with. They changed my account type without my permission. Fraud dept rep froze my account for no apparent reason. There was NO authorized access to my account ever. I called them to find out whats going on and was told "we can just close your account if you would like" when I complained about the problem. VERY rude and unfriendly customer service. AVOID this bank. I am pretty sure that the positive reviews written for this bank were written by this banks employees.

“Easy for deposit but terrible mortgage service.”

I had plenty of choices for lenders but chose Everbank for a home purchase mortgage because they were very quick to pre-qualify and said no problem to close in 30 days when a property was found. Once we committed to purchase a property and the loan began to process the nightmare began. Looking back I would rather try to escape from Iran than go through this again. They move you to an incompetent

“The worst”

used them for five years. Invested close to a hundred thousand. Nothing but a ripoff. They'll slowly drain you accounts with variety of fees plus will dent your credit even if you just open savings with them! The worst bank I have dealt with.

It is too early to really rate EverBank. I just got my initial deposit into their YIELD PLEDGE MONEY MARKET.

Mainly I wanted to say that I spoke to a Rep, told her I didn't want to send a check thru the mail. I wanted to do an online transfer. She said I could send in the signature card without the check, they would establish the account, then I could do the transfer.

When I sent in the signature card, I included a note with the Reps name, extension and what she said. The funds showed up in my account in 2 days, though they are marked as unavailable.

Now I have sent an email asking for confirmation they are going to give me the 2.25% 3-Month Bonus Rate that was in effect when I applied, and not the lower rate now being offered.

We'll see how it goes.

I am a real customer, by default. Everbank acquired Bank of Florida from the FDIC August of 2010. I was a very satisfied customer of the Bank of Florida. However, I can't say the same for Everbank. In the process of converting to the Everbank platform, called "mapping" they totally screwed up my account and I've not been to access my account or pay bills online for the last 5 days. I've had numerous telephone conversations with no less than 5 "(anti)customer service reps" to no avail. I'm pleasantly waiting for yet another call back to fix the problem(s). This is by far the worst customer experience I've ever had and I would not recommend the bank to anyone.

Their on-line banking works fine, but mailing deposits is a pain. Their wrold markets also works fine, but waiting 3 days for transactions to clear can (and usually does) adversly effect exchange rates. Their brokerage is total disaster and should e avoided at all cost.

Best bank I have ever used. Beware, negative reviews on this site are most likely employees of affiliated competitors, rather than true customers. Everbank has the best customer service of any bank I have used. They offer the most options for managing my money and offer the highest rates available.

I found this review not helpful because...the person who wrote the review discounts the experience of real customers who are having customer service issues with this bank. I am a new customer with them and the service is the worst I have received in my life from any institution, be it financial or not. Their attractive products will cost you time and money in the end due to terrible customer service. BEWARE of this bank--for checking, savings, money market accounts, loans or anything else. DO NOT IGNORE all of the customer service complaints, it's a serious issue that even their management ignores!

I guess I need to thank most of the negative reviews on Everbank that are scattered online. I opened an account in August '10 and the exact opposite of what is published online has happened. The only minor complaint that I have is that the registration and account opening was conducted via snail mail and took 7 business days to get going, but I honestly can't complain now. My money wire went through and the online functionality of the money market account has all the features one would expect from an online bank. I shoudl mention that I am using this account strictly for savings, meaning that I don't intend to use the money on anything, so I probably won't leverage all of the services one would with a rtaditional checking account, but so far, so good.

Like many people, I was lured in by their higher than average CD rates. What I learned is that they CHEAT YOU ON THE INTEREST. If you're not careful and forget to keep track of how much APR you're supposed to get, they will give you less. I transferred an additional $2K after I had opened my account for $2000 and the high interest rate only applied to the original 2K! After several calls, they finally admitted their mistake and credited to me the missing amount. But this was only after a lot of nagging on my part.

In other words, DO NOT TRUST THEM. I closed my account a few days later and wrote the CEO a letter saying I will never use them again.

Everbank.com is the worst online bank that I have ever used. I should have known when I first opened my account and they wanted me to mail a paper check (they don't allow electronic transfers to open new accounts like most other banks). Their online website is TERRIBLE (error messages, unable to add external accounts, etc) and their Customer Service reps get very defensive if you offer feedback. On top of all this, external money transfers with Everbank average 5-7 business days when most banks can send and receive electronic funds within 3 business days. Everbank holds your money for as long as they can and I felt many times that it was almost as if my money was being held hostage by them. When I called to close my account, the Customer Service Reps again got very defensive with me, and then proceeded to tell me that it would take 3-5 days to close my account, and then another 10 business days to SNAIL MAIL a check to me for my account balance. Even after closing the account, Everbank is still not capable of electronically sending me money- again stalling my account balance refund for WEEKS while they 'process' my cancellation request and manually cut me a paper check. Out of the 3 months I was with them, there will be a total of 30 days where my money did not even collect interest and was in 'limbo' due to Everbank dragging their feet and making it as difficult as possible to send and receive money to my account. I would stay away from Everbank at all costs unless you like not having easy access to the money you deposit with them.

Extraordinarily bad customer service - and they don't care. All funds disappeared from my accounts and it took many hours of phones calls and on hold time and lots of effort to have them figure out that they transferred the funds to another person with the same name. No apology and not even the slightest indication of concern - They say the money has been recredited, but they can't figure out how to unlock the account now so there is no way for me to get to the money or verfiy that they have actually done the recrediting. Once this is straightened out I intend to close all accounts.

I felt like I was dealing with a fly-by-night company. For example, they advertise three options for depositing money.

(1) "ATMs." I went to SIX different ATMs they listed. Two did not exist, and the rest did not allow Everbank transactions. When I emailed them about this, they just cut and pasted the list right back to me.
(2) "Deposit money from home with your scanner." They don't mention that by "eligible customers," they mean you can submit an application for the privilige after 8 months.
(3) Mail. When you run out of their special envelopes, they bill you $8.95 for more. After this, I closed my account.

Our banking has been with Everbank since 2001 and never a problem. When there have been problems with other financial institutions, Everbank has been proactive in seeking resolution on our behalf and has followed up with phone calls every few weeks to check on the progress - the "brick and mortar" bank took longer than 1 year to totally clear up their error. For one issue about a competitors credit card, Everbank representative called them while I was on the phone as a conference call and resolved the item immediately. My questions are always answered professionally 24/7. I love this bank!!!

I opened an Everbank account in September 2009. I had no problem whatsoever.

The Yield Pledge Money Market Account pledges to stay in the top 5% of interest rates paid by other online banks such as Ing, Discover Bank, etc. No need to feel you have to keep moving your money around to chase rates!

Shortly after I sent in my deposit an application (family trust), I received a "Welcome" email, and then received my packet with accoutn number/sign on info within a week. My checks have been ordered through Deluxe and will arrive seperately. I really don't know what tall the complaining is about! I have had no problem whatsoever! And when I need money - I just have to write a check!!

Everbank Internet Banking - The WORST. I had the same experience so many others did. Poor customer service. The run around trying to open the account. Even worse trying to fund it for the "90 day introductory rate". It was going to take me 90 days to straighten out the mess of getting the savings account open and funded. I gave up and closed it.

I have to say that Everbank is the worst bank I have ever considered using. I deeply regret the choice to open an Everbank account. The high interest rate was definitely the drawing point. But after filling out the application online, I had to PRINT it and MAIL it in. That should have set off alarms for me. Unfortunately, it didn't. I paid $8.00 to get a CASHIERS CHECK for $25500.00 which then sent OVERNIGHT to the tune of $19.00. So far this cost me $27.00.
After a FULL WEEK, I FINALLY received notification that my account had been opened and that I would receive my account materials in ABOUT another week. OK, NOW ALARMS were going off. I emailed Everbank only to be told that I had to call to get my account number. Everbank "Doesn't email account numbers because it's not secure." So, I phoned per the instructions. The response I got was "Everbank doesn't give the account numbers out over the phone but you can request an email with the account number." I still had the email from the first rep, so I read it to the second. After being put on hold to get approval, I finally got my account number so that I could set up online access.
I immediately logged in to set up online access, only to fine that ALL EFT transfers would take a MINIMUM of 4 BUSINESS DAYS!!!!! When you request the transfer, Everbank takes the money out of your account and holds it for 2 business days so that you can't earn money but they have 2 days to keep using it. Then, on the 3rd day they initiate the transfer. So, either the 4th day or perhaps later, you will finally receive your money. ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!!!! But I'm not done.
Online bill pay is PAPER CHECKS CUT AND SENT. NOT EFT!!! As if this wasn't enough, my $255000.00 CASHIERS CHECK was held for a total of 3 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CASHIERS CHECKS ARE CASH. So, needless to say I immediately removed my money as soon as the hold was finally released. I've only told you the major points and I strongly recommend that you avoid Everbank like the plague. I guarantee you nothing but aggravation, fury, loss of money, and everything else. In the instant, electronic society that we live in, this antiquated bank needs to give it up and go out of business. Please help me spread the word and put them out of our misery. The account I opened was the YIELD PLEDGE MONEY MARKET ACCOUNT.

Everbank Internet Banking is the absolute worst bank among the few dozen I have ever dealt with in my life. All sorts of fees are attached to the money market account, there's no interest rate info on the online account page (and they give you a ridiculous answer why it's not available), and they experience frequent technical problems (opting out of their emails doesn't work, alerts for me to view secure messages from them that don't exist). Money transfers in and out of the account take way longer than every other bank i've used to get finalized. The interest rate (which currently is not the best out there, by the way) is not worth the hassle !!
