“Have got a 2004 54 plate 80bhp diesel dynamique, owned...”

Have got a 2004 54 plate 80bhp diesel dynamique, owned for 4 yrs soon. Been a fab car, economy is outstanding around 630+miles per tank variety of driving/roads etc...Good spec, got three kids all small, plenty of space, big boot too, 5 full seats. Underpowered but adequate & keeps up on m/way. Interior gets battered by my kids but scrubs up well, only gets cleaned inside about every 6 weeks but looks good. Dynamique have the dark interior so is best colour for family. Electrics are weak point, both n/ side elec windows not working & heater blower only works on 1&2 but they are common faults which are pricey to fix so I'm not fixing! Just been a great family motor which is used/ abused & keeps going. 55000 miles now, 2 year/ 18 thou mile service intervals. Have kept mine serviced & apart from broken earth strap & dead battery has not let us down, lives outside in all weathers too as my garage is full of bikes etc. Would c
certainly have another & would have the 100bhp 7 seater 1.5 diesel next. This is cheap as chips family motoring. Had front discs & pads done recently for £83 incl vat fitted, got parts myself from eurocarparts for £43 & fitting for £ 40 by trusted local garage.

Excellent all round car. Plenty of room for an average family. Comfortable and fairly quiet. I have the 1.5 Dynamique (100 bhp) which is very economical - very handy with current fuel prices - and good equipment spec.
I would recommend this car to anyone.

I had my 80 hp 1.5 dci scenic in Nov 2006. Got 3 children under 5 so needed something to fit all of us in and it's been a superb motor. Mines the 5 seat dynamique and its very well equiped. Rear blinds a bit flimsy but with a child pulling at them they will break however well made.
Only two breakdowns since ownership that being a dead battery and the other a broken earth strap but other than that which i class as wear and tear it's been great with massive fuel economy 55+ mpg all day long around town driven carefully and better than this on a run. Top car obviously not in audi, bmw etc league but i didnt pay audi or bmw money for it. These cars are as cheap as chips and are great value for money. Dynamiques dark trim stands up to wear and tear well, believe you me my kids trash this motor and its worked hard and still scrubs up well and looks modern. May end up keeping it or if i do replace will have the 7 seater, dynamique trim with 106 bhp 1.5 engine for a little more power. use mine for commuting, dropping off kids to school, does 70 mph on big roads virtually every day and doesnt let us down. Started 1st time after being left in -5 temp for 2 weeks last December 2008.
I've read other reviews on this car, yes its a bit flimsy and things do go wrong but they are just amazingly good on diesel, very cheap tax, perfect safe family motor 5 star ncap, cheap insurance and great value and spec.
Join the rac or aa, i have because i've got kids and not because i drive a renault.
I've only given mine a 3 star for performance, it's an 80 hp diesel but was purchased to transport my family and i around at the mininum of cost a job which it does and deserves six stars for.
Only other complaint is massive price for the front wiper blades £60+ and you have to buy the front ones in a pair and not just the worn out one. Tyres are ok price got two goodyear eagles nct 205 x 55 x 16 recently for £108 all in thats for the pair, also had rear discs and pads fitted quite expensive job as the bearings are in them. Service interval is 2 yeras or 18,000 miles. Great car, yes it's let me down twice but big deal i could have spent £20,000 and this could have happened.
