The new emirates Terminal three is a beautiful terminal. They have put a lot of thought into it. There is a lot more places to eat and drink and there are 2 Zen gardens to chill out in. The other major thing that regular travellers will notice is that there are a lot more seating area and not many people sleeping on the floors like in terminal 1.
Have heard that the business class lounge is very good but didn't get the chance to use it.
The two major problems. One is a major one which is the security clearance for transit passengers. When we were passing through, the terminal was only 75% capacity and even then it took us a good 45 minutes to clear security. It was one of the busy time (around midnight) when most european flights arrive but even then this was totally unacceptable with a free for all and no organisation and no staff were really interested. I am hoping this will get sorted soon. The second minor point is that the new terminal is soooo long and if you have short transfer times like we did, you pretty much have to run.
Overall if they polish out the security problem, I would thoroughly recommend this airport.
