Olu Deniz, Karbel Sun Hotel

We have visted this hotel for the second time now, we came back again because it is such good value for money! It is in a quiet area at the top of the strip in Olu deniz, the hotel doesnt play any music (although Hotel Karbel does which is usually quiet loud, but calms down after 10pm) the pool is huge wich plenty of sun beds, and the brekfast is traditional Turkish. A lot of people dont like the breakfast as it consists only of bread, olives, jams, cheese, ham, cornflakes, tomatoe, cucumber. But it is just their typicall choice.

The majority of staff are friendly, chatty and helpful,especially reception staff, the guard and his dog Lucky! One or two do try and get you to book in to their BBQ nights or Sunday Dinner for 25 Lira each. Personally we didnt want to, and they eventually laid off.

The hotel is kept very clean, especially the garden areas! The beds arent the most amazing, but if you want that pay for the deluxe rooms!

This hotel is in a great location, fantastic for couples young and old and for children too! Olu Deniz as a whole is a beautiful part of Turkey! Take a trip up to Hissaronu for a bit more of a part scene if thats what you are after!

I would defintly recommend this hotel and Olu Deniz as a holiday destination. Me and my partned has a fantastic and memorable second holiday here and i am sure you will too!

We have just got back from 2 weeks in the Karbelsun hotel. Everything was excellent. The service, the food, the staff, all were helpful and charming. The manager couldn't do enough to help us. If we had a problem it was sorted out immediatly. The restuarant manager was great, all the staff were so helpful and could not do enough for us.....and the pool bar staff were so funny. Always there, liked have a laugh and joke with us. The Hotel was clean, gardens were well looked after, nothing seemed to be too much trouble for anyone. There was a small library of books by the reception so we were never short of a book to read, also a very good selection.

Olu Deniz is a lovely resort, plenty to do, lots of restuarants and bars, plenty of shops and a trip too. Fethye market is a must...

We have already booked for next year, can't wait...

Friendly staff will do all they can to see you have a good holiday hotel lovely and clean gardens are well keept lots of sun beds round pool staff at pool bar always ready to have a joke with you been to this hotel 2 years running cant wait to go back next year reception staff always helpful if you need anything

Just got back from a 2 week stay at the Karbel Sun and am very disappointed. First let me say that Olu Deniz is beautiful, and the majority of people you meet are absolutely lovely, it's just a shame that some of the hotel staff in my opinion did not reflect this!

There were 8 of us staying in total, and every one of us found some of the staff to be extremely unprofessional.

Rooms are basic, and I think they need cleaning more often. Being on the ground floor we found that there could be some of ants on our balcony. Our room was very basic compared to other family members rooms on higher floors. The bathroom had a dirty shower curtain that kept falling down.

Most hotel staff at the Karbel Sun's sister hotel the Karbel are very pleasant and would do anything for you. Our party spent several nights at events there that were fantastic! You also MUST go to the Rose Garden in the back streets, which is a brilliant restaurant/bar. The staff there are great fun and very hospitable! Cloud 9 and the Sultan restaurants on the strip are very nice! If you book any excersions you MUST book with Sky Sports. They have the best insurance policies and give really good deals! My dad and cousin went paragliding, which was amazing and we went on the most wonderful private boat trip for the day, which was fantastic!

Overall, loved Olu Deniz and will definately return at some point although will be giving the Karbel Sun a very wide berth as I had always thought that hotel staff were supposed to try to please their guests NOT the other way around!

This hotel is just perfect. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here and will certainly be coming back. The staff did everything to make your holiday memorable, (even if I did fall on my butt trying to push the bar man in the pool)

They are so friendly and good fun. We only got back today and I got on the net straight away to recommend it. I am glad I did my homework and researched this place, the reviews were great so I am just passing on the thanks and hope it helps you make a good holiday choice.

The hotel is excellent value for money and a great location, the whole resort is well laid out with everything close to hand. The staff at the restaurants and shops are all very helpful and will do everything they can to assist a customer which greatly benefits the elderly, those with children or anyone with mobility problems. The hotel provides safety deposit boxes for £1 per day which is very reasonable. All in all it made for an excellent holiday which was our first to Turkey and we would have no hesitation in going back to the Hotel Karbel Sun or Oludeniz.

We had a very relaxing holiday at the Karbel Sun Hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful. Olu Deniz has some nice places to eat and drink: Captain Hook was the best, but the hotel was a very close second. We hope to return next year.

We've just come back from a one week holiday in Olu Deniz and have felt compelled to comment on the Karbel Sun Hotel where we stayed. Not to be confused with the adjacent Karbel Hotel (families) or Karbel Beach (singles) this hotel caters for couples wanting to enjoy the beautiful Turkish coast without the throbbing music and cheap tackiness often associated with an English orientated resort.

Well located at the top of the main avenue to the beach - it's close to all the bars and restaurants as well as the beach and "blue lagoon" but far enough away for it to be a peaceful retreat if you want to avoid the crowds. There's a taxi firm across the road and Dolmuses stop at the bottom of the street for trips to nearby Hisaronu, Ovacik and Fethiye for a quid each way.

The rooms are basic but have excellent air conditioning which was great as we went during a heatwave, and the friendly and knowledgeable staff can not do enough for you. Even though breakfast is basic the evening menu is excellent and the chef's whip up English, European and traditional Turkish dishes with relative ease. As a caterer myself I was impressed at the choice and value for money. Set menus of four courses were £10-12 and included expensive cuts including t-bones and sea bass.

In all I rate this hotel very highly - a must is the Sunday Turkish night dinner with traditional folk and belly dancing.

All the staff at the Karbel Sun Hotel in Olu Deniz, Turkey were very friendly. The food in the pool area was really good. Although we did explore other restaurants in the evening, the food offered at the Karbel Sun was excellent. Our last meal was a Sunday roast, which included a Fire Dance. The roast dinner was exceptionally good. How does he cook his beef? It was melt in the mouth!! The rooms were cleaned every day, and we were satisfied with the cleanliness.

Although it has been upgraded recently, one of our beds creaked and creaked and creaked. We did complain, but it still creaked until the end of our holiday. The electricity would go off just when we wanted to use the hairdryer! The TV in the room showed mainly Turkish TV, when the electricity was on, and we also had BBC World, which wasn't very good.

On the whole though we had a fabulous holiday. The promise of bingo (which I only do on holiday) never materialised, shame. The Belly Dancer, Quiz Night (which we won) and Fire Dance were really good. If only the staff realised that putting on these activities each night would not only increase the restaurant sales but the bar sales too. Get Smirnoff Vodka and Schweppes slimline tonic.
