The Yorkshire Sculpture Park Is An Open Air Sculpt
The Yorkshire sculpture park is an open air sculpture park - a nice change from the usual galleries - although some of the exhibits may not be to your liking, it is a nice experience all the same. there are picnic spots and shops selling souvenirs and refreshments. a section of the park is dedicated to henry moore - the sculpture's there are superb, but there are hundreds of sheep and goats roaming around. my girlfriend preferred the "cleaner" part of the park, where she was not in danger of getting sheep droppings stuck under her shoes, but i think that seeing an henry moore sculpture is worth navigating your way through a sheep field, for.
The souvenir shop is extortionate. My son 6-year-old son has just returned from a school trip and had paid £1.49 for a bookmark which was simply a strip of plastic with a very uninspiring logo on it. I would have expected a lot better from an location geared to promoting art.
To be honest with you I don't think the restaurant is value for money, for instance it costs 70p for a piece of bread.
