“Selling used equipment as new ”

Sold me a c stand that was damaged and said that I needed to pay for the return postage myself. Couldn't be more appalled with my experience.

“Very Disappointing - not receved my camera after a 9...”

I don’t think I should still be without the camera why should I be waiting for DHL to accept the liability, as the problem is between Jessops and DHL and not me, I should have the camera I have paid for or my money returned or a credit It’s disappointing that I will not be taking my new camera with me again. It’s been so long to get sorted, I see the R6 mark 2 has now been released and I have not even used the original model. I expect a refund or to be collecting a replacement camera before I leave for my 60 day cruise in January 2023. I would like to collect from Shrewsbury, as my closest Jessops store. As no Lichfield or Birmingham that were my local stores. I do not feel that I am being unreadable . However I have not had any camera or refund

“Paid for an item, didn't get it, but they won't refund...”

I ordered my item a week ago (Wednesday) which cost over £400 and was expecting next day delivery. DPD failed to deliver the first two times (drive said shop for delivery was closed, yet its a 6am-11pm CO-OP. I phoned DPD Saturday who said they would deliver that day, nothing, I phoned again the next day, same response, same nothing. By Monday I check the tracking to find the item is on its way back to Jessops. I phoned Jessops Monday because from what I can see I've paid for an item which they have failed to deliver, so naturally I'd like my money back. Jessops are refusing to refund as the package is still "out for delivery" despite acknowledging the item is on the way back to them. Tuesday late afternoon the package is still " on its way back to Jessops" so I phone again. Jessops are still refusing to begin a refund. I've paid for an item, Jessops have failed to get it to me, yet for some stupid procedural reason they won't refund me until the item gets back to them. Even then they say the refund could take up 5 working days. The long and short of it is... I paid £400+ for an item, Jessops failed to deliver, I will now be without the £400 needed to purchase the item else where. Did I mention I needed it last Thursday. Really poor expereince

“Dreadful”

I ordered an (in stock) item from Jessops some 10 days ago as I thought I'd support a traditional high street retailer rather than Amazon, but now realise it was a dreadful mistake. My card has been charged, but nothing delivered, there is no information using the order checker on their website, their phone number is permanently closed, their live chat deactivated and they don't answer emails, so are completely unreachable. I now have no choice but to go to my cc company, trading standards and ultimately the police. :-(

“No communication”

I placed an order online on Friday and received a confirmation email shortly after. All was good until Sunday morning when I received an email from Jessops CS informing me that there was a problem with my order because they couldn't obtain the funds for the item and I needed to contact my card issuer to sort it out and then call them back to confirm it had been sorted. I contacted my bank an they confirmed that the payment had been taken and was pending approval by the credit company Klarna so I contacted Klarna and they told me that they were waiting for Jessops to confirm the order !!!! I tried calling Jessops CS on the number given but it would not connect. I emailed them but received no reply so attempted to contact them via the online chat. When I did eventually get a reply on the chat I was told that the email was sent in error and that my order would now be processed. I asked if they could send an email confirming that there'd been a mistake and that my order was now being processed........no email arrived. I contacted them again on email, nor reply, sent them a DM on Twitter...no reply and sent two messages on Facebook messenger to which I've had no reply. I can't see Jessops being around much longer with customer service like this

“Flimsy neck strap which doesn't fit binoculars. ”

Ordered Jessops Compaxt Binoculars for an upcoming holiday and was impressed when they were delivered within 24 hours. The neckstrap supplied is completely useless and is very flimsy. The metal fixing is too big to fit into the spaces on the binoulars. I emailed customer service and got an outa reply saying they would get back with 48 hours. In the absence of a reply I twice tried online chat who could only pass messages to Customer Services asking them to reply!!! Finally, after 15 days, I got a reply stating they do not supply accesories!! Surely they should provide a suitable neckstrap in the first place. Am surprised and disappointed that a company Peter Jones is associated with has such poor standards.

“trade in”

Having purchased the majority of my Nikon equipment from Jessops I was extremely disappointed with the trade in price they offered on a recent purchase, with a miserly 20% offered on the original cost of a excellent conditioned lens -really feel like I've had my pocket picked. Will shop elsewhere in future

“Diabolical customer service ”

I purchased a camera from jessops. The courier company lost it, not jessops fault I know but jessops customer service was absolutely diabolical. They promised to call me back, they didn't. They rarely responded to my emails. They took three weeks to refund my money and the whole experience was extremely stressful. I would not recommend this company at all.

“Wasted time after three visits, they keep everything...”

I attempted to buy a camera from my local Jessops on three occasions. The first time the store was closed with no notice (I checked opening times online beforehand to make sure). Second time around it was opened, but I had to wait over 5 minutes to find an available staff member to be told that Jessops stock absolutely no camcorders in store and that I should try online instead. Not wanting to wait around for days by ordering a camcorder online I figured I'd buy one of the compact cameras I saw in store to use for video instead. Third day I go in to buy the compact camera I want and guess what...it's only a display model I have to order it online. After that I decided to buy the camera on Amazon instead.

“Camcorder Purchase”

This is my first experience of going to a known brand and getting the worse customer service ever. I bought a month ago a new camcorder. It didn't work when you charged it. So called was asked to return which I have done. Assured I would get a replacement - then silence....no contact.. I called and was told one would be sent out...no never arrived...called again sorry out of stock not sure when it will come back in....wow..can I speak to a supervisor..no there isn't one...em not sure what I do now except say never ever use this service......ever!!!!!!!!!!!!

“People in Jessops customer service are liars ”

Jessops – the worst ever online customer service. I have bought nearly £2000 Pentax camera with 3 years extended warranty (one order). They didn’t have a camera in stock and asked me to wait 2 weeks for new deliveries. I could wait so long so I have cancelled the order. But they didn’t cancel my extended warranty (£150) and they charged me for it. I have a warranty for the camera which I don’t own! I had numerous conversation with the Jessops customer service – managers, normal workers, online chats – you name it.. And every single person told me that they will refund the warranty… But none of them did! I still haven't got my money back. People in Jessops customer service are liars !!!

“Very Unprofessional Service”

Jessops Castle Street store in Edinburgh took my nephew's order of 3 rolls of film to develop , print and scan to CD on a Wednesday and agreed on a pickup of his order at 2.30 next day. Thursday came and he called to confirm he was coming in to collect his order. Jessops staff told him not to as it was not ready , and wouldn't be until 10am on Friday , next day. He called next day and was told it was still not ready and he would be able to collect at 3pm. So , he went at 3.15pm om Friday and it was still not done ! All that had been done was developing of the 3 rolls of film - no prints , no CD. Jessops had 3 points of contact to act upon the order or to explain the delay. No action was taken. My nephew lost a day and a half from Uni , and also a shift at his part-time job and a whole lot of disappointmet for him and his mates who were waiting on his images. Very poor show Jessops , very poor show.

“Never use photo printing again”

Ordered 4 prints in matt finish. Got a message saying it was ready for collection. I came to the store 24 hours after receiving delivery confirmation only to find out the pictures were not there. Asked to phone me when they got them. Never received a call. Called myself and finally collected photos which were printed on gloss finish. Turns out they don't do matt. Just awful

“Treat like the Plaque”

Example of a job advert at Jessops " Can't think for yourself, no common-sense, need to be told how to do your job by a complete stranger, willing to share the one brain cell available throughout the company, work for an owner who gives false guarantees, regarding reading ALL emails he receives,an owner who is only interested in the ££££££££££££££ and could not care less about anything else,if you can answer YES to any of the above then come and work for Jessops you will fit right in. Proud NOT to give customer service, proud to be one of the countries biggest LOSER employers. There are plenty of retailers who sell camera's and accessories out there, and a few who are much cheaper, and many who give a far better service, take some time and find them BUT AT ALL COSTS AVOID JESSOPS, you have been warned. I only gave one star because i had to, through choice NO STAR.

“so much for sales expert”

Went into Jessops Manchester to collect some camara equipment. After 5 minuetes of trying to pressure us into taking a photography course which we kept saying no to the assistant proceeded to take our payment for our purchase. Where's our reciept we asked. You don't get one unless you give us all your personal details. We declined as we did not want to get pestered to buy everything from toy soldiers to to taking the latest trip to Mars. 30 minuetes of arguing later and we had by now asked for a refund and gathered a large crowd of sales assistants and on lookers we finally got them to cancell the order and produce the reciept they told us they couldnt give. they still told us that even though we had now got a receipt it was not valid as we had not given our personal details. That's not the case you simply take them to the small claims court YOU DO NOT HAVE TO GIVE PERSONAL INFORMATION JUST TO GET A RECEIPT. We pointed out that by law we can demand a receipt and the local super markets don't demand our details everytime we go in them. There whole attitude stinks no wonder they went bust originally and with this attitude they will go bust a second time. I have nothing good to say about my experience execept AVOID.

“Shocking customer service!! DO NOT BUY FEOM THEM!!”

Purchased a camera within a year had to take it back to the shop to get fixed, customer services in the Birmingham store was shocking, had to wait a month to get my camera back within 6 months the same problem started again, trying to get 250 out of me to get it fixed as its a common problem so they said!! It's actually not, all o had read was good reviews of the camera!! Waited 2 months for them to contact me still not a word so I had to contact them!! Would highly recommend you stay away from Jessops!!

“Little stock in store and expensive”

I needed a camera and paid £649 for it about 10-14 days prior to this. Ihad to buy the display model without any discount under the guise of company policy. I now notice the camera is much cheaper elsewhere and even £100 cheaper on the jessops website. Never again.

“staff member lacking knowledge, requires training ”

A main Jessops in central west Scotland beginning with G ending with w , if you have a problem don't expect an answer. If you want to buy a memory card then that's about the limit of the sales staff. Anything else and they haven't got a clue. Asked about a telephoto 2x converter the girl asked if that was a filter? Sorry that this is true. Chimp in a tee shirt. Stand in the shop and listen to the staff trying to sell UV filters and memory cards at 5 times the price ref 16gb class 10 50mb/s £25 for 1 go for a curry 2 for £9.97. Ask about a camera or lens performance and the blank expression on their faces is worth a shot, exposed, that is a photographic term. stay focused sales staff. Training would benefit this shop.

“Sold ex-display camcorder as new”

I visited Jessops last week to look at a new camcorder, the shop assistant gave me some good ideas to think about. Having done some research online, I made my choice and ordered online to pick up in store. Arrived at the store and saw the same person who went to get the camcorder I had reserved. He started to open the box and I noticed the security seal had already been broken. When I questioned why the box had already been opened, he replied that it was the last item in the store and had been on display. I know its not been used but it's also not new when numerous people have handled it while it was on display. There was no mention on line that it was ex-display, otherwise I would not of placed the order. So I left and bought a new one from Currys. Last time I will use Jessops.
