PROS --> - Straightens hair very well. - They look good. - Adjustable heat controls. - Can choose function of whether to use on wet or dry hair. Cons --> - Absolutely killed my hair; even when using heat defense products. - Made my hair STINK like a fire. The smell lingered even after hair was washed... I could still smell it on my wet hair after shampooing/conditioning! - After 6 months use (with regular trips to the hair salon) my once strong and thick hair is now fragile;

I've had this straightener for 4 months and it is great! It straightens wet hair and drys your hair at the same time. I would suggest it to anyone. The only problem I've had with it is my power button doesn't work anymore. My sister also has one and it's worked for years. It probably just has a default. So now it's time to go buy another one :(

I was very pleased with this product when using on wet or dry hair but only after month they would turn themselves on which i found could course damage depending where they were lying as i did'nt unplug them due to the on and off switch on the handle.

I have had my straightner for over a year. It worked great for the first year then started 2 stink really really bad. My dollar store straightner worked better than my remingtion wet to straight. I loved it but it has defintaly fallen flat. It is sad that a dollar store straightner does better than a remingtion. My hair lookes great when i go to school I step into school at 7:40 and my hair is wavy all because i ran my fingers through my hair. So I have to go out and buy a new straightner this summer with some more of my money because the one i have now has failed me. Trust me I will never buy a remingtion ever again it will be coniar or something else. One more thing even if u hairspray your hair section by section it will not stay straight if u use a remingtion...DO NOT BUY A REMINGTION STRAIGHTNER.PLEASE!

The Remington Wet 2 Straight is nice, but I still don't use it if my hair is wet. Just think of it as a cheap straightener, not something that will save you blow drying time or anything

I have had my Remington Wet 2 Straight hair straightners for just over a year. I love these as i have really long thick hair and it saves me alot of time, 45mins and my hair is nice and straight.
But the bad point is that now im having to buy another pair as the ceramic coating started to peel off a few months ago and now its really bad. :(
Im giving them another try and if it peels off again i will have to buy different ones and that wud be a shame.

I brought Remington Wet 2 Straight a few weeks ago but I returned them as they didn't straighten very well whilst wet and it took quite a while even when they were dry, and eventually they did become straight, but there were flicks at the end of my hair.

it gets my hair straight, which is my main goal. it makes my blonde highlights stand out a little more.
basically, i like it. it gets the job done, it just has some side effects like any other straightener would.

I have been using it a little over a year now, and it's o.k. With stying serum it's better though. It didn't work on me for the "wet to straight" part. But as a regular straightener it's alright. The straight wont stay at all it comes out in humidity, and my natural curl is starting to leave me. I would buy a nicer one.

I've had quite a few brands of straighteners over the years and as I said these have been the best for complete straightness and condition. However, they are expensive for something which only lasts around a year.

This is a fabulous flat iron! So good at what it does that I gave all my other irons away. I'm that girl that goes to the hairdresser and pays $50 to get my hair "professionally flat ironed" and by the time I get home, my hair is wavy again! With the Remington Wet to straight my hair stays pin straight ALL WEEK! Through showers, exercising, style after style....and I'm not just saying that. When I got mines - the other females in my family went and got their own...so far we have 4 in the family!

The Remington Wet 2 Straight works really well. It makes your hair really soft and shiny. It doesn't damage your hair like other hair straighteners. It doesn't make your hair look fried at all. But I've had this hair straightener for about a year. The plates started to turn brown. I looked on the internet to find ways to clean it. I tried having the straightener warm and wiping it with a warm damp cloth, and I even tried using rubbing alcohol (while off) and nothing has worked yet.

The Remington Wet 2 Straight hair straightener is really good, but I do recommend the smaller one rather than the large one, as it's so much easier to use with shorter hair.

These work nicely on DRY hair - Nice and shiny, straight and smooth. The results on WET hair, which they are supposedly designed for, is not very good, I found that it left my hair frizzy and yuck, sticky-outty bits and no shiny-ness, which pretty much defeats the purpose. Of course if you're going to use ANY heat treatments on your hair often, your hair will become damaged, split, dull and frizzy FRIED, but that is common sense yea?? These are good to use every now and then, on dry hair. that is all, Thanks.

For the $25 that I bought my Remington Wet 2 Straight straightners for it was worth it. I was new to straightening my hair, and it was a good starter product.
It's beautiful to look at, matte black with a digital display that clearly reads the heat setting. The paint and the straightener itself are both very durable. I've owned this straightener for over a year now, and there is not a scratch to be seen.
The Remington is advertised for use on wet hair. "Skip blow-drying," it boasts, "quicken your beauty routine." It seems like a miracle product.
It's no miracle. Yes, it dries and you can put the blow-dryer away (though I don't recommend it). But the results are simply not worth it. After slaving for what seemed like ever over my wet hair, I looked at my finished result and was not pleased. My hair was frizzy, dull, and, all over the place.
To the touch, it was greasy and fuzzy. All the little hairs that we all try so hard to get to lay flat seemed to have been accentuated. My hair was a mess. A thorough brushing helped a little bit, but I had to eventually go out into the public and be self-conscious the whole day. Yes, there is steam as the Remington dries and it's cool and actually fun for a few minutes. But then your realize that the steam smells like burning hair. And once you see the results the steam really doesn't seem so cool after all.
The Remington works much better on dry hair (which pretty much defeats the purpose). But even completely dry locks pretty much meet their doom. They come out dull, dry, and often frizzy.
Then there is the damage factor. I often hear a hair snap as I run the straightener over a section. A sour burning smell tends to waft from my hair as I try again, in pure frustration, to straighten out a particularly stubborn piece. The worst part is the result of all the trouble you go through upon finishing with the Remington, dry, limp, and remarkably straw-like hair.
And what about shine? While better straighteners lock shine (as well as moisture) in, ensuring healthy looking, lustrous hair, Remington-straightened hair looks very dull. You end up having to load it with shine-enhancing serum. And believe me (I speak from experience), there is a fine line between shine and grease with shine enhancers.
So where do I end up after straightening my hair with the Remington Wet 2 Straight? At half-and-half land, also known as Frustration Nation. Sure, my hair is straight, but it looks as if I just stripped it of all its health and beauty. And frizz freaks, there is frizz to be found. And the results only last about 5 hours before the hair begins to look not just unhealthy in several ways, but completely, utterly dead. Horrible.
So whether you'll straighten every day or once a year on special events, don't you want it to be the kind of straight that turns heads in a good way, there are different kinds of straight.
Skip the bad kind, Skip the hype. And you may want to skip the Remington or use it until you have enough cash to buy something better.

I bought this Remington Wet 2 Straight over 2 yrs ago at London Drugs for $60. I still use it almost everyday unless I get too lazy or run late, but I don't recommend this product. Prepare for really really dry hair and split ends if you consider using this for a while. I find it straightens the best when the hair is wet, not dripping wet, but still with enough moisture in it to let off steam. I believe the plates strip the outside of the hair because I can clearly see additional white stuff stuck on my plates that I can't get off after each use, so my straightener is basically coated with a little thin coat of white dust looking thingys on top of the plates. It still straightens pretty well though, at least there's a moderate difference seen between straightening and not.
Just 5 minutes ago I ordered a T3 from the web. Hope I can say bye bye to my Remington. Still a good choice though, if you are a high school student or on a low budget.

The white residue you are seeing on the plates of the Remington Wet 2 Straight hair straighteners is from whatever product you are using on your hair building up on them and reacting to the heat, not from your hair being "stripped". However, you will see damage after frequent, daily use if intense heat is being applied directly to your hair.

For the first, Oh, I don't know.. 5 to 6 months, this straightener worked wonders on my hair. My hair is very thick, frizzy and hard to deal with unless conditioned marjorly. Though I have shoulder length hair, it takes me a while to get it pin straight, which is what I'm aiming for. About 6 months after using the Remington Wet 2 Straight hair straightener, I turned it on one day and it beeped a few times, then kicked back off. I was confused the first 2 or 3 times, because I thought there had to be something wrong with the outlet! So, I changed outlets and it heated, stayed on for about 5 or 6 minutes and kicked back off. I was furious with it. I returned it and got the new Wet 2 Straight with the colour coded units. It's now working fine, but if this one does the same as the last one, I'm done with Remington straighteners.

Not disappointed with the my Remington Wet 2 Straight, but it's not as brilliant as it first sounded. If you have really curly hair, it does straighten well from wet if you have the patience and time to do it. Not noticed any more or less damage to my hair than I would with my old straighteners. I think I might have saved my money and put it towards something else.

I agree with what you say about the Remington Wet 2 Straight hair straighteners damaging the hair. I stopped using them for this reason, and I would never abuse my hair with them again!
