Night Of The Living Dead - The 1990 Remake - Direc
Night Of The Living Dead - The 1990 Remake - Directed by the Wizard of Gore - Tom Savini, this 1990 remake of the George Romero 1968 classic is actually a damn good film. The make-up is superb (possibly some of Savini's greatest work), bringing the viewer a feast of blood and gore. The plot is pretty much the same as the original except for a rather disapointing change of ending. The acting is top notch, with the character of Ben being played by Tony Todd of the Candyman fame. Patricia Tallman (Army of Darkness, Knightriders & Babylon 5) plays the character of Barbara.
I feel that Savini does the film justice with this splatterfest of a remake. Ok, so it wan't really necessary to remake the classic...but then are films really necessary in the first place? The film is thouroughly enjoyable and well-made.
