We stayed at the Koutrakis Villas in Sissi at the beginning of June 2006. The accommodation was clean, bright and very spacious. The kitchen included everything you would need if you wanted to cook, but why would you? You're on holiday!! The swimming pool, whilst not very big is a good size with stunning views overlooking the sea. Sunbeds, umbrellas, tables and chairs available free of charge. The atmosphere at the pool bar in the evenings was excellent and great fun, with the owners making you feel very welcome and very much at home. The entertainment was covered with a Greek Night, a BBQ and a Quiz Night. The main meal was absolutely delicious, and it was followed by two traditional Greek deserts or fresh fruit. The Greek dancing was good fun, and it certainly gave you enough exercise to accommodate all the food eaten!! This was followed later in the evening by karaoke. The multiple choice questions at the Quiz Night made the evening very enjoyable and not too taxing - just what was needed at the end of the day.

All in all, our holiday was a completely success. Sissi is a beautiful place and Koutrakis Villas is a wonderful place to stay. The owners are very welcoming and hospitable, and the bar staff are very helpful and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. I would highly recommend both the resort and the accommodation, and will definitely be booking to go back again later this year!

Certainly one of the best resorts and apartments, visited in Crete and we have been to various parts of Crete over the past 20 years, all of which made us come back for more. Koutrakis Villas and the Sissi Area were just something special. As usual, the Cretan people are amongst the most hospitable in Greece and its Islands.

Koutrakis Apartments - As I said, the apartments were spacious, clean and very well equipped, we were surprised to see the kettle, toaster, iron and hairdryer as we have never had these in any other accomodation on Crete.

The pool area is kept immaculately clean and the pool itself is cleaned out every night, the bar area is good with a good menu for breakfasts (which are excellent), snack food for during the daytime and also evening meals. We had food here everyday, and at least had 3 evening meals during our stay. The entertainment is excellent, especially the barbeque night with excellent choice of food and sweets, there were certainly no complaints from any of the guests who attended as many went up for second helpings!! I guess that says it all!! After the food there is Greek dancing and plate throwing and everyone is invited to join in whether you can do it or not and then starts the karaoke which is great fun!!

The owners are so friendly and welcoming. The women are around during the daytime and Dimetris is at the bar at night time so there is always someone there to help you out with exchange of money etc.

All in all, we had an excellent holiday at Koutrakis Apartments and our only regret is that we only booked for 1 week but we are definitely returning in September for 2weeks. It's definItely the best holiday we have been on in a long time as the atmosphere is so friendly and welcoming.

Koutrakis villas are a family run apartment complex with 28 apartments. The apartments are clean and airy and either ground floor or first floor. Each has either a balcony or little seating area in front of it with your own table and chairs for relaxing outside your apartment.

The food is very reasonably priced and prepared in full view of the customers and very clean.

The bar is fully stocked with all the usual drinks we are used to.

The pool is kept spotlessly clean and is constantly filtered throughout the day and then cleaned every night too.

Sun umbrellas and sun beds are free of charge. there is also a pool table and a table tennis table which is free of charge to use.

They have various entertainment nights (Greek bbq night, karaoke, quiz night) and all are great fun and suitable for the kids too.

All mod cons available: air con., direct dial telephone in apartment, internet access from reception, etc.
