Yes, it seems MipCards are no longer any use. I've had them for some years now and always found them adequate, even though it was often impossible to connect in the evenings. But as other people have said, in the last few months it's been almost impossible to connect at ANY time of the day. I'm not buying any more. Pity, after several years' reasonably satisfactory service. They've obviously cut down on the number of ports available, so that the service is totally unsatisfactory for everyone.

I've been using mip cards for a few years now and up until the last few months would have recommended given it 5 stars.
These last few months it has been totally unreliable I have spent 20 solid minutes trying to get connected only to not be able to load any pages on the occasions I was successful. Email support would not respond to emails (I refuse to use expensive support phone numbers). I did get a response from their internet affliate partner but it merely said their lines were very busy and apologised for the inconvenience offering an 0845 number as alternative (at 3p a minute daytime = no thanks).
I have made alternative arrangements but am still trying to use up my unfinished minutes, this week I have found it easier to connect though I know find their website is unavailable.

Has MyinternetPass finally gone out to pasture?
We bought a £10 card on Wednesday night from the website, and received the initial email response, but no Password email. The site mipcards.com is now unobtainable. Does anyone know if they've gone to the wall?
Service over the last few months has been poor at least, and perhaps they haven't had the numbers to keep it going, but taking money hours before going off-line is close to fraud in my book.

Previously would have rated myinternetpass.com as VERY good. Have had several internet passes from them. But, for the last month or so it has become increasingly more difficult to connect even after trying and trying, sometimes up to an hour and outside peak times. Hopeless. I did manage to connect at 3.30 am!! (I am having to write this review on someone else's computer!) The technical people say I have just to keep trying until I can connect and gave their apologies as the problem is being caused by the volume of people using their passes. It is now over a week since I contacted them and nothing has improved. I spent over an hour last night trying to connect. Did eventually but downloading was slow and it disconnected itself and then wouldn't reconnect. Gave up.

Recently it takes 20 attemps to connect( if at all) then 10 mins. to download one simple page. Myself & partner have had 23 of these passes(at £10 a time) without problems now the service is unuseable. This has bee like this now for 1 month. If not fixed soon I will have to connect elsewhere. MIP get your act together, you're taking money here.
It would have been useful to know they couldn't handle the business before we bought the passes.

I have used MIPcards for a long time now. Initially it was a good service (thus the two stars) but this year it has steadily got worse and worse.
The problem is connecting to it. You spend a lot of time trying to connect and eventually have to give up. I have reported it several times and had no reply, which is unforgivable.
If they were a caring service they would want to get in touch, but I have to ask the question of what they have to gain from this kind of service. The only answer must be that if you have bought a monthly pass and can't use it for a lot of that time, then they must gain from that. If not, then they would be wanting to apologise at least.
I wish I had read this forum earlier.

paid Myinternetpass for two passes in May and again in July 2009.
Neither pass worked and Myinternetpass will not reply to my requests to fix the problem or refund my money.

Myinternetpass is easy to obtain, low cost, service works as well as any other. As a user of the mipcard arrangement for some years now, I have read the other reviews and do not understand the rationale of those giving low ratings. You get what it says it is, at the cost it says it is, and it does what it says it will do. My advice would be to consider your needs, and if you are a low, casual user with enough capability to set up a dial up internet connection, then this should work for you. A warning that the card will shortly expire would be helpful

There must have been some sort of error with the guys order before as mine was handled and processed very fast, the number does work and was only engaged one time when I tried to connect but connected on redial, if it really adds no extra charges to your phone bill then this is an excellent service for the light user not wanting a contract or as a back up when broadband goes down.

I'm only in this flat now and again for few days at a time so a broadband contract would be a waste of money at this time, however this little prepay card which I found out about quite by chance is just perfect for keeping me online... says BT Lines only but I know it works with Post Office and Toucan lines.... Brillant Idea..hope it catches on esp with Broadband...I hate their 12 month contracts

I think My internet pass is a great little service, very cheap, very flexible, dont' have to tie into a contract, can carry my details around in my phone and order back via the phone. Perfect.

I tried the PAYAGO package from Myinternetpass (www.mipcards.com) at £10 for 2000mins,but I could not logon the internet for most of the time. I then tried the £10 a month unlimited access. This was even worse. The helpline was a waste of time. Now on Virgin 24/7.

I was recommended www.mipcards.com from one of my friends and guess what its simply amazing to have a prepaid internet card to manage your internet usage.

Has anyone tried the Myinternetpass service recently?
I went to the mipcards.com site, and saw they launched a new card - Up to 2000 mins - tried it, and its working an absolute treat - I'm connecting at 46.6kps first-time!
Because it's so cheap, I would recommend giving it another go ASAP!

Myinternetpass provides very, very poor service. I've been with these people for a few months and their service just gets worse. I bought a new card and guess what? I can't connect. So, I emailed for their support and no one has bothered to write back. If they do then they tell you that you account is working and valid. Sometimes it's taken me up to 1 week to be able to connect which is not good enough. I know £10 is not a lot of money, but you are still paying for something and if you pay for something it should work. You even get a 1 hour cutoff time so it's not good for gamers. Avoid these people like the plague. I really don't mind paying an extra £5/6 for someone like BT or AOL.. at least I know they will work.
Pathetic!

My Internetpass good idea in pricipal if it worked at all times, but it has a high rate of failure in getting thru. Bad customer care.

Myinternetpass - Over the last few years I've had a few ISPs and most of them are ok most of the time, you know sometimes it takes a couple of attempts to connect, but hey, that's life. Well, that was till Myinternetpass. You see, I'm in uni halls and it's the only ISP they allow us to use (can't even use pay as you go ones), and I can safely say I have never found the service of any company as completely awful as them. this is the first I've been able to connect in three days. When I do get connected, it's never quicker than 33.6k and takes on average 20-30 attempts (I have the machine set to redial 50 times) but sometimes I find even this is not enough. Also, they cut you off without fail after only an hour. I hate them, not just a little. All I can say is, if you have choice about it NEVER EVER EVER even think about going with MIP, you would be as well to just save youerself a tenner and live without the net for a month. It's so bad usually if I want to check my email, I phone a friend (not in halls) to check for me as its just soooooo much quicker and easier. MIP is the worst ISP ever!!!!!! Oh and by the way, when the uni union spoke to MIP about their service, they basically said, well, as you don't really have a choice about using us what are you going to do about it - now that's great customer service. Also, they have a bad habit of selling net cards that they haven't bothered to activate so won't work till you call them (50p per min) and tell them.

Bought Anytime 2000 pass for £10 from Myinternetpass.
It didn't work. Tried over 20 times.
Asked for refund.
Refused as they said pass was working.
Working? Where, when, who?
Still no refund, I've given up.
I hope they go bust.
Do not use them, spend your £10 in the pub.

I agreed to help a friend setup a new pc (well to him anyway) - he opted to go for the Myinternetpass option as it seemed relatively cheap and would give him some idea of usage before deciding upon an ISP to go with!!
What a mistake!
Wish i'd read this site first, followed the instructions to the letter, could never connect, even went through the rigmarole of uninstalling the modem, re-installing modem and drivers as we thought it couldn't be that bad!!
Anyhow, we gave up and luckily had a Virgin.net freebie CD with us, loaded it and we were away and surfing within 5 minutes!!

I've just bought my first myinternetpass sub and I have to say that the service is like the curate's egg - good in parts.
What you get is very cheap, basic, internet access - and that's it!
However, the biggest problem with MIP is that it can be almost impossible to sign in. I've already had times when it has taken ten goes to get onto the web.
The other problem is download times, which can range from a reasonable 6.5Kb/s to a very slow 100B/s.
Add to that the mipcards.com home page - and indeed its entire site sometimes disappears for days on end - not good if your sub is coming to an end!
But, overall, this service does have a lot going for it, and at only £10 for 160 hours it can be recommended.
