“Ear piercing ”

Went today after I had booked an appointment for my wee boy to get his ear peirced. When I asked for the price as I had heard another customer discussing how expensive it was I was told £60 reluctantly as my wee boy had fat ear lobes !!! Needless to say I did not stay and canceled our appointment there and then no apology , no customer service and the rudest two girls ever. Went over to superdrug who were extremely helpful and although they did not have an appointment went over everything with us and we are booked in for Tuesday at a fraction of the cost for the same earring Don't go head to superdrug instead.

“Birthday Party success”

We were absoltely over the moon with the party my daughter had in your store. The games were fantastic! The children were able to have their face done up with fesival glitter, hair spray and make-up as well as having their nails done. It was amazing value for money and the children all got a voucher to spend in store following the party. The shop was shut to the public which made it even more special for my daughter and her friends. The staff were fantastic and we couldn't have asked for a better party for her!

“#Cancel Claires in Croydon”

I went into the Croydon branch (27/12/2022) to be left waiting by the two white staff members as they were busy ‘gossiping’ together , after 10 mins I asked for assistance to be given the most disgusting looks and then the manager with pink hair served a white lady before me even though I said I was next. When I asked for a piercing for my daughter they both followed each other still talking to the piercing place. No eye contact, awful customer service and racist! Will only go back when they are gone! Cancel Croydon branch!!!

“DO NOT GET YOUR EARS PIERCED AT CLAIRES”

NOT PROFESSIONAL IN PIERCING EARS. Please do not let your children be subjected to the unhygienic, unenthusiastic and lack of knowledge team. They claim they have experience via training but we ourselves went to different stores and was given conflicting aftercare advice they actually said the other store had a reputation of having issues and people returning. Honestly your children are precious and if you was thinking like us your child will receive a nice experience to make the ear piercing as nice as it could be, you will thank me for just taking your child to a jeweller where you will receive the correct job, good earrings and proper aftercare advice. They have lots of bad press as a brand just do a simple Google. Do not let another child end up in hospital because of marketing tactics that lure them in.

“Expensive items but not good quality ”

I am extremely disappointed by the nose studs that I bought. I expected them to be good quality for the price but the moment I put the stud in my nose the gem fell out! Out of the whole packet only one was suitable to wear. She is extremely overpriced and the staff are extremely rude. I haven’t just had one experience with rude staff but every time I enter the store. I strongly suggest that no one shops from here at all.

“Horrible staff and bullying ”

I have a very close relative who works in Tunbridge Wells Claires. And from the phone conversations I have overheard are disgusting. The two young lady's who currently work there were hanging up on this poor girl and they were very much what I would consider "bitchy" and the level of favouritism is very very unprofessional. Ganging up on someone regardless of any personal faults is considered bullying and this needs to be stopped. There is no reason to be soo nasty to another member of staff especially when the customer is close by. There is nothing nice about the atmosphere in this shop. It is money grabbing and very much ignored when it comes to bullying venerable staff members who are clearing not have an easy time. Being shaley due to all staff members ganging up on her is totally wrong and immoral . This is disgusting...

“Disgusting customer services ”

Placed an order mid November for Xmas presants didnt receive so after 3 weeks I contacted to find out what was going on someone told me there was an error and that my order had a technical issue so they told me they had to recorder my order and i would receive my order in the next couple of days. Chased again and they told me the order hasn't been reordered. This was for Christmas presents for my child and her cousins absolutely disgusted with there customer services. Wouldn't recommend and now I have to let down 3 children. No apologies or anything appalling

“Terrible Quality of Merchandise ”

I got three things that all broke only a few days after they were bought and barley used. First I got the gold snake wrap ring. On the same day I got it it broke right in half while I was eating lunch. I have only worn it once when this happened and I also noticed the gem stones had started falling off. Second I bought a gold initial necklace. I only wore it for two days when the chain fell apart. The last thing I bought was the blue light glasses. On the day that I got them I noticed when I got home that the one side was loose and they were crooked then after only wearing them once the arm of the glasses broke right off and are not able to be fixed. For how expensive some of this stuff is the quality sure is cheap and should last longer than two days. The only thing that I think are quality and have lasted for more than two days were the earrings. So if you buy something at Claire’s I recommend only buying the earrings but I am sure they will break quick too. I have had things from the dollar store that have lasted longer. So do not waste your money shopping at Claire’s.

“Terrible Customer Service”

I bought several items online from Claires over a month ago but they never arrived. I emailed Customer Service three times but they have not bothered to reply. I phoned and after holding for over 50 minutes was cut off. The worst Customer Service experience I have had in a log time! I would not advise using this online service ever!

“Ear piercing a fortune!”

Visited MetroCentre Gateshead store to get my 9 year old daughter's ears pierced. The way I was spoke to by the manager was absolutely appalling we left and went to Superdrug the staff were absolutely amazing, made my daughter feel so welcome and comfortable and at ease. The prices were also so much cheaper had I of known Superdrug did piercing I would have gone there first. I thought Claire's was the go to place for young girls but in my experience the manager did not know how to deal/speak to my little girl or me I won't be shopping here again. I have read so many bad reviews since wish I had done more research on reviews & checked prices elsewhere.

“Best place to get ears pearced”

I got my ears pierced here the service was great you can even get two people at once, my experience was awesome I loved it i got the three week solution so I only have to wait three weeks then can take them out loves this 5 star and the best thing is adults and children can get it done there if u want your ears pierced this is your place the only had thing about it was the little burn and shock you get when it's done but after a while it's fine the best day ever for me

“I have purchased jewellery from multiple Claire...”

I have purchased jewellery from multiple Claire stores, I also had my ears pierced there for the first time when I was a kid. They state that their jewellery is STERLING SILVER however it isn't. I have severe allergies to all metals other than sterling silver and stainless steel. They guaranteed me when I had my ears pierced that the earings were sterling silver. I had burning, swelling and a rash etc. Few days later my ears started to go manky and I had bleeding from the inside of my ears due to my allergies. In later years I purchased other earrings and a nose piercing which immediately started to burn me. They label their jewellery wrong, are inaccurate about the metal and make fake guarantee's. If someone else tries their jewellery thinking that they will be getting something they are okay with and instead have an allergic reaction because of their stories then they are massively risking someone's health.

“Ear-piercing for babies”

I took my 1 year old twins to get there ears pierced for there birthday. I decided to go to Claire's. The moment I walked in I asked the associate if she had pierced a baby before, she replied with "yes". My first twin sat on my lap and as I held her down to have her ears marked for placement of earrings I heard her let out an awful scream. I know my children's cries and this one as if something is wrong. I turned her around and seen a HUGE cut on her cheek going to her chin. I asked what happened to see how associate responded and she replied #she scratched herself" I said no she did not, first off her nails are short, I then looked at her hands, the associate had huge rings on every finger except the think. I seen the associates rings had went through the gloves in some places, she had scratched my daughter's face!!!! I didn't see how bad it was until after the piercing were done on both my girls. They have cameras where this can be seen. How dare she blame that on my baby! I have pictures of how bad it is! I've tried calling the store to speak to store manager and never can seem to get in touch with her. I have tried to call and speak to corporate twice it made me leave a message and still no return phone call. I feel so bad for my daughter and am heartbroken it happend like this. This was absolute torture and don't recommend ear piercing at Claire's for younger children!

What the hell were you thinking getting 12 months old BABIES ears pierced in the first place? Let your daughters decide for themselves when they're older if they want body modifications in the first place. Make better choices for your kids.

“Worst company-online orders are ALWAYS wrong”

They have a good range of items and loads of sterling silver earrings and they always seem to have offers on so I stupidly order online several times but unfortunately about 9 times out of 10 my orders are wrong. They have now charged me for sterling silver earrings which never even arrived in my order and now I realise this seems to be quite common with them. I have been trying to contact them but my messages get ignored. I will never order online again.

“Guildford ”

spent £60 on earrings, within a day of my daughter wearing them, not only did they fall apart, she suffered an allergic reaction. I was assured by the staff they were solid gold! For the price I have paid I expected greater quality and not cheap fake! I was refused a refund as earrings had been worn although they are damage and caused infection! The store manager was extremely disrespectful, childish and uncivil. Manager lacks any skills or knowledge, she’s a teenager!! I have yet struggled to contact customer services again to file a complaint against this store! All customer services offered was a £5 gift voucher!! Disgusting!

“Manager accused my children of stealing”

Yesterday (21 Dec 2017) my children and I were Christmas shopping at our local mall in Clarksville, TN.My children went to shop at Claire’s while I went to a different store. I received a call from my 14 year old daughter stating that I needed to come to Claire’s immediately bc the manager were accusing the 3 of them of stealing phone cases. So I get to the store and the manager is accusing my children of stealing phone cases but there was no security there. When I arrived people were gathered around, the manager was so confident that they had stole somethingand it was a very embarrassing moment. So I had them to empty all of their pockets, pull off their jackets, empty out their shopping bags as well as put each item back into the bag one by one so that she could clearly see everything. So once it was proven that my children each had money in their pockets and they had not stolen anything from the store I demanded a apology and also the store number and the manager’s name. I will be making a complaint about this incident.I’m a soldier and this situation could have ruined my reputation if another person that knew me would have been around.

“RUDE STAFF”

My daughter age 13 wanted her carltlage pierced... so as I did with her sister at age 13 I took her to Claire’s in Whitgift Centre... I could see the shop was busy so headed straight for the till to ask if it could be done today....lady asked how old she was and I said 13... she replied she’s too young and will only do her lobes.... but she was snappy at me.... I told her this shop pierced my other daughters cartilage last year when she was 13 coz she was with an adult they said was ok.... next thing she’s literally shouting down some woman(manager) ... she came out and said what the age restrictions were for that kind of piercing and she spoke to the staff, not me as the customer and said 14 with an adult and went back upstairs... nothing was said to me she just assumed that I had heard it and smirked leaving me standing there like a proper idiot whilst she got back to serving.... Never ever will I part with my time or money in that place... STUCK UP RUDE STAFF THAT NEED TO GO ON A PROPER CUSTOMER SERVICE COURSE.... ITS PPL LIKE US THAT PAY UR WAGES ....

“Never take Kids to them ”

Hi ! I am very very upset , Today I decided to take my 17 months 3 weeks old daughter for ear piercing at Stratford Westfield shopping centre Claire’s . I thought I was being wise in choosing a big brand like yours . I went in the lady marked my daughter Celina’s ears which I was happy with then she called her fellow piercer . It seemed like a good idea as they both will use the guns to do both sides at the same time. Celina was happily sitting in my lap both took a shot after nodding to one and other for ready . Celina didn’t move scream or cried until they wiped the area to remove marker points . By this point I was happy that it’s over and done with they gave her a lolly pop & she was quite . I put her in the pushchair and went to the counter to pay . I thanked both girls and made my way . As I went in Food court settled Celina in a high chair and started feeding her I realised that her right ear was pierced in a total wrong place toward the edge of her ear lob near her face . I made my way back . The girl who served me was at the counter serving customers. She totally ignored me , I said to her when u finish this customer I want to show u something at this point the store Manager rushed towards me . I explained her all of the above in a very calmly manner and said can u explain to me that why did they not tell me that they missed the mark and pierced the wrong place and wiped the mark and charge me . Her reply was I cannot ask her now we have been told to do this privately . I said so what are you going to do for me she replied, I am gonna remove the old and re pierce her ear for FREE . At this point she had raised her voice . I said to her why are you raising your voice it should me screaming not you . She walked off saying this all I can do , you don’t want it I don’t care . I stood there- not believing what had happened , then walked to another staff who turned to be assistant manager she listened to me and went towards the back of the shop I assume it’s the storage area . She appeared after 10 mins and suggested that she will refund the money and personally re do the taking off and new piercing. Which obviously at this stage Celina was crying crazy I was holding her down took a few attempts of correct marking finally it got done . She refunded me for one earring ( in my opinion they should have refunded the whole amount) forgot to give the solution bottle back which she took from me to Clean and redo . I was told that the staff who messed it up will not be allowed to do more piercings and will be retrained. Later in the evening I went back to pick up the solution, the manager handed me the bottle straight away as she saw me approaching with looking towards me or saying a word I said to her that my kid suffered so much today went through so much she still stayed quiet but the staff standing next to her started saying that you gave us permission to do this to your child you put your child through this pain not us the lady who done the wrong piercing is so trained and will keep doing more piercings.... blah blah I clapped my hands loudly and said well done and walked off .

“very patient”

I took my granddaughter who was terrified but desperate to get her ears pierced.Every time they tried to do it she shouted stop! When we said to leave it she cried and said she wanted it done. There was a queue growing while this was all going on but the person I dealt with was not fazed and carried on talking to her and explaining exactly what was happening. Finally she did it and the joy on her face when it was done was a picture. Thank you Claire's!
