Recommended for families and couples, our review is based on what to expect on a Greek Holiday and therefore the Lagoon is excellent and we were not disappointed, if you're expectations are wild then Greece may not be the place for you.

Sidari Resort good for a sunshine break but given the strong euro against pound you have to look at what other options are available for the money, this was no cheap holiday.

Lagoon Good Points

Friendly and helpful staff, excellent pool, bar with good range of drinks and food (Best for breakfast and bar snacks), superb location near to beach, bars and shops. Rooms were spacious and in good order with TV and good kitchen facilities.

Lagoon Bad Points (but probably typical for Greek Holiday)

Bedding and towels only changed once during week, you have to supply own toilet paper. Aircon is 7eu/nite which is quite steep but we didn't really need it, only problem is we left the door open and the sewage stank in the night, you have to expect this sometimes in Greek Islands.

Bizarre, Orange Juice 2.50/glass, continental breakfast including the same OJ only 2.00eu.

Sidari Resort

Bit tacky, dirty smelly beach but some nice bays other side of the rocks. Most annoying part was being hounded everynight by PR's trying to force you into their bar, also the music was so loud you could not sit and and a drink without hearing about 4 different songs at once from other venues close by.

Be careful on where you buy trips and excursions from, most people just want to con you some way or other, also prices in general on the strip can vary by large amounts.

Avoid Madison Bar Diner

these guys could learn a thing or two from Lagoon, I poured my beer to then notice the glass had lipstick around it and something in the beer, the owner took the glass to change it but gave me an empty glass, no beer and walked off - Complete dick. Food was not great either and overpriced.

Conclusion

Nice break but very expensive, Euro/pound partly to blame. If you want a Wild Holiday on the pull try Kavos or Zante. Great restaurants but they are generally trying to be too English. Most of the entertainment is awful, Bingo, Tribute acts that don't resemble who they are supposed to, and Kareoke, bit more Greek would of been nice.

If Sidari is the Holiday for you we Recommend you try Lagoon apartments for all ages. It was mainly families and couples so we had no problem getting to sleep.

Although drinks can be expensive, the bar staff and reception are really nice and helpful, close to the beach and the main strip, perfect location, not enough fr the kids but other than that its a great holiday destination and hotel.

I would never go again to the Lagoon Studios and Apartments. Very noisy music all night long, people jumping in pool at night. One night there was too long.

Most staff were polite, I found the cleaners quite rude but the swimming pool was lovely. However no free air conditioning in June.

The resort smell of sewage at certain times of the day, the mossies will eat you alive if you don't cake on the repellent (we went thru 2 cans in a week) beach okay has litter and dog mess in some parts....sorry to paint a bad picture I'm sure some parts of Corfu are nice. Don't let this resort put you off Greece as this doesn't reflect true Greek life at all.

Arrival and departure from airport to resort and back again went without a hitch. Very smooth operation from First Choice.

Arived at Lagoon Apartments at midnight local time on a Saturday to quiet resort and complex bar area (Change over day) Apartment was clean and spacious but very basic and tired looking. We stayed in what looked like the old part of the complex, a newer part had been added and may have been better equiped and furnished. Shocked to find that Air con was on hire at 7 EU/day, we had two units and so would have to pay 14 EU/d. Stuff that, keep the windows open and the blinds closed to keep the mossies out.

Pool area was clean and well maintained with a good area of grass, plenty of sun beds although some broken, no need to reserve a bed at four in the morning. Good service from the bar with staff Alex, Maria & Dennis helpful. Good food with relaxing atmosphere all day. Evening entertainment consists of a new release film from 8 until 10 and then a variety of Karaoke, Quiz or Bingo followed by Killer pool until the bar closes at around 3 or 4, Alex still smiling!

Resort is great for 15-25s but limited if you have young kids or if you are not into clubbing. All bars with the exeption of a few (Red Lion) play the same very loud rap and dance music. Forget any attempt at conversation after 2200. All bars sell the same food menu with no veg and plenty of chips! The Chinese, Indian & Mexican restaurants are all good value but the best retaurant in my opinion is the Ramona behind the church, excellent family run Greek rustic restaraunt.
The strip is just dangerous, not from thieves touts or muggers, it is a very friendly place, but from the mad boy racers, coaches and hire cars tearing down a street only just wide enough for a coach. At the top end of the strip no pavements!

The beach is long and sandy and the sea gently slopping with sand out for a long way. I was there during high winds that blew a lot of the sand off the beach to uncover thousands of dog-ends and other rubbish, no attempt was made to drag back the sand or clean up the mess in fact the whole resort could do with a good clean up!

Excursions: Aqualand is good but if you've been to one before it's no different (don't believe the hype) Greek nights are good but if you've seen one you seen them all. The only other excursions are boat trips on the whole good but for a family of four, expensive. It also means a long uncomfortable transfer by bus from Sidari, that's enough to put you off. Sunset beach and the excellent cliff top restaraunt is only a 8 EU taxi ride away.
On the whole we had a good holiday but our 15 & 19 year olds had a better one.

Would I go again? Not until a by-pass around the strip has been made and a clean-up opp has been carried out and that's not going to happen.
