Queen Of The Damned. Not Too Much To Say About Thi
Queen of the damned. Not too much to say about this except it was terrible, just terrible. Its about a vampire who suddenly awakens one day and becomes a rock star, the music he produces awakens the vampire queen akasha but shes not mad she wants him to be her king.
So if you know alot about vampire films or even if you dont avoid this.
What Can I Say About Queen Of The Damned? Is It Wo
What can I say about Queen of the Damned? Is it worth renting? Yes, but only if you have rented one heck of a lot of movies before it. I would not recommend running to your nearest video store to rent this flick because it simply is not that good.
What is good about it? Hmm that is a hard thing to answer. It is actually a sequal to the great vampire movie, in my opinion the greatest vampire movie, Interview with a Vampire. Where that movie was great this one pales to compare to the greatness of the first movie.
Lestat the vampire originally played by Tom Cruise in Interview is now played by some unknown in this movie. When I first saw this movie, I thought "Gee how original they named the vampire Lestat!" because I did not know it was a sequel to interview. Despite that, this is a lousy sequel comparable to most sequels they make more then 10 years later, e.g. AWFUL! It does have a sort of interesting story, not a good one, just interesting.
To sum it up. The Vampire wants to be noticed and creates a band named after himself. He lets the world know there are Vampires out there and the Vampire community is furious! Akasha the Queen of the Vampires is just a 20 min story line about this movie. Her part is to destroy the world blah blah blah heard it before in every other vampire movie I have ever seen!
It is hard for me to give a good honest review on this movie because I am not even sure what this movie was about besides a wanna-be who becomes a rock star and an evil queen intent on "eating" the entire world.
Save your money and don't bother renting this movie because it really is not worth the 1.30 hrs you'll spend watching it unless you like Vampire flicks.
Review by Christopher Martin.
Having to read a bunch of books to understand a movie makes a movie a bad movie. Movies are made so you can sit down on your butt, watch it grow for 1-3 hrs, watch the movie in the same time frame and get up and do something else after it is over. They are not made to watch and then have to go to the library to take out 1, 2, 3 books to understand the movie. I have a pretty good understanding of things.
They did a very poor job with this movie and basically instead of making it like Interview, a drama with tons of respectability. They turned it into a Vampire Goth Teen flick. You know like all that other garbage they make year after year. A cool movie. They achieved that it was a cool movie but the movie still was rank with a brie cheese smell.
Tom Curise made the right decision in turning down this role.
You do realise that both Interview With the Vampire and Queen of the Damned are both based on the original books by Anne Rice don't you? They didn't make Interview, wait 10 years and then write a sequel. It's been around for ages.... What they did do, however, was skip a book, The Vampire Lestat, which is why the movie probably doesn't make much sense to you (haven't seen it, so wouldn't know). Go read the books, the first 2 are fantastic (Interview With the Vampire and The Vampire Lestat), the rest, not so much so.
