I've been going to the The New Shang Hai Chinese restaurant for about ten years (not every day you understand). Back then is was called the Shang Hai Palace and was located upstairs. Now it's on the ground floor in Castle Walk, next to the Castle at the bottom of the village. I have travelled the world and am yet to encounter such loveley food (although I haven't been to China). Really Really nice, my advice get in the salt and pepper spare ribs, and squid to start followed by a big meaty duck and follow it up with a bit of crispy beef in chili. Obviously order another 13 dishes as well. The best dya of the year to go is probabley Chinese new Year where they do a banquet big enough to feed a great white shark for a week. If you need somewhere to munch before a plane flight it's only 2 miles from the airport and if you live locally and you haven't been, then I image your taste buds must be quite upset with you.

Chinese New Year was excellent at The New Shang Hai restaurant in Stansted. They really made an effort. Plus there were several dishes that don't feature on the menu.
