The original Zanussi Dishwasher went faulty after 3 months with lots of faults (poor washes, not empting etc.). The most unusual was that it switched itself on. The service engineer didn't believe that this was possible until it happened when he was there. After about 10 visits they gave up and replaced it. The replacement Dishwasher has had intermittent faults for the last 3 years mainly poor washes about once a week. Getting worse and not empting the water at times. I am going to dispose of this load of junk in the next few weeks.

Controller packed up just out of the 12month guarantee. We replaced the controller. This evening it caught fire, its only 4 years old. Luckily I was in or our house would have burnt down. The wires have all overheated and the insulation melted away. Very dangerous - do not touch with a barge pole. I'll never buy Zanussi again.

I bought the Zanussi DE 6544 dishwasher about two years ago. It started leaking after about 6 months. The seals needed replacing on the impeller pump. Then it wouldn't drain - fitted a new pump. The control panel also locked up.
I do not recommend this dishwasher.

We had this dishwasher for only three years before it packed up due to the control panel failing. We didn't really use it a huge amount, as there's only two of us in the household, so for it to only last that long is extremely disappointing to say the least. We also had a Zanussi washing machine that only lasted two and a half years. Zanussi products seem to be very bad quality, and I certainly won't be buying them again.

The Interior plastics on the Zanussi DE 6544 are shoddy, get brittle & fall off. Wheels on the lower basket, had to replace bottom strainer as plastic erroded & failed. Changed the thermal cut-out, as it started to pause in the middle of cleaning - better, but still does it occassionally. Just over 3 years old - last two lasted 3 times that with no problems.

Zanussi DE 6544 - Another case of control panel failure... unfortunately for me out of the warranty period. Spend your money elsewhere. I've lost any respect for Zanussi appliances through this waste of money.

For £300, the Zanussi DE 6544 is a complete waste of money, it broke down after only 6 months - that was the first control panel, then the second one went after 13months. It has flooded the kitchen floor despite it being anti flood and now it will not dry the dishes. Waste of money. Will not trust Zanussi again - they used to have a good name, now they are expensive rubbish.

This is a poor product with inherent faults.
Do not purchase.
A product that has had repeated faults.
The control panel had to be replaced within the 12 month warrenty.
The water system becomes blocked through a design falut and has to have a new component fix put in place.
Zanussi will not meet the full cost of this retro fix.

Same thing happened with a Maytag. Detergent is causing problem in my opinion. Using power balls and now have new basket and going back to powder detergent as had no problem when I used it.
