This Is A Powerful Program Which Allows You To Qui

This is a powerful program which allows you to quickly and efficiently control almost all aspects of Nokias. The ease of navigation in the phone and features and amazing lack of complexity are what any phone manufacturer should provide with his products, but IME none do.However, I have a major issue which would have certainly caused me to rethink buying this program (which I did more than once) considering its price: once the year of updates expires, whenever the program is started it will warn about expiration and ask the user if he wants to check about the renewal options. This extremly annoying "feature" cannot be disabled, and the Oxygen support replied to one user: "This message will appear every time when you start the program, but it doesn't affect the program functionality at all." The nag message effectively turns this expensive piece of software into a shareware application and I for one am not going to pay even one cent more ever again.

I Used Oxygen Phone Manager For More Than A Year.

I used Oxygen Phone Manager for more than a year. Although it does have some interesting points, I have had the worst possible experience with the developers and their license philosophy.

The software is very buggy, and the developers refuse to deal with the problem, making it even worse. I had a problem with SMS sending which resulted in garbled output in my language (there are many other bugs really, but this was extremely serious), and I was pleading with them to fix it for 8 months. The problem is very simple to fix; they only had to fix their character conversion tables, but instead of doing nothing they made it worse. My outgoing messages are now unreadable.

Summary: Oxygen is buggy.

So what, you'll think - bugs are a common curse. That's right, but only Oxygen does not allow you to update the software after one year. My license has now expired. I can't get bug fixes because the license does not allow it. I am stuck with a buggy version unless I fork out more money to Oxygen! The licensing system is really awful. You can't use it on more phones unless you buy more licenses. Now, every time I run Oxygen, I am nagged with a message asking me to pay more money to Oxygen to renew my license again. If I press Enter (OK) instead of Cancel, I'll get spam in my mailbox.

Summary: Oxygen has the worst licensing system you'll ever find.

Although Oxygen has a rich feature set in its specs, is not as good as the free Nokia PC Suite. PC Suite has a full working syncrhonizing system that quickly and reliably synchs your mobile with Outlook. Oxygen needs a 4 minute procedure for the same thing, and it's not reliable. I have lost all my contacts once because I pressed the wrong buttons. Oxygen does not offer an explorer-like view of your phone contents, such as Nokia does. It has a bizzare system to upload files. Most of the additional Oxygen features are really useless: no one needs a ringtone manager anymore since we live in the era of MP3 and midi reproduction. Nor do we need a "logo manager", we just make a logo with our photo editor and upload it to the phone with Nokia PC Suite.

Summary: The business user is well advised to avoid Oxygen and stick to PC Suite.

To top the problem, the developers also provide an interesting offer: they give away free licenses for people who set up pages or write reviews on CNET and elsewhere. Here is such a "review" : http://pages.intnet.mu/shakeel/mobilezone.html Keep in mind that some of the positive reviews you read, even here, may have resulted in free licenses. (I have paid for mine).

Therefore, instead of paying for an ever-buggy application that will only work for one phone, without updates after a year, get the free Nokia PC Suite.

There have been some reactions to my review. I have resumed communication with Oxygen Software and they have provided me with a new keycode (probably valid for 1 more year) as well as special attention to the SMS problem which prevents me from using the SMS sending functions.

I will update this page with more comments soon.

I Am Really Amazed At The Features And The Speed T

I am really amazed at the features and the speed that is being offered with the Oxygen Phone Manager. I've used the Nokia provided software to backup my Nokia 6600 but the speed with which this software does the same things and more is simply amazing! Also the connection never gets cut. I know some people would think that connection getting cut was more a phone thing than a software thing but I would not agree.

Wishing To Backup My Mobile Phone Contacts And Sim

Wishing to backup my mobile phone contacts and sim card on my Nokia 6100 I ordered a datacable. After many attempts - I could not get the cable to create a connection with my phone.

Following further research on the internet, and reviewing comments in relevant forums I discovered this was a common problem.

I promptly returned the data cable and purchased an Infrared USB adaptor - suggested in many forums by individuals frustrated by limitations and problems experienced with such datacables. The Irda also allows synchronisation between your PC and other IrDa enabled devices such as PDAs and digital cameras.

Once installed I set up the software for my nokia phone - Nokia PC suite. I found it highly inadequate and not very user friendly. The contacts editor was also limited and there were issues regarding the mapping of number types between the phone and the PC software.

I then tried using the software -Handset manager - that came with the IrDa adapter. After many attempts and uninstall/installs the sofware did not recognise the phone - so I gave up on it.

Thankfully, after further research and much frustration, I discovered Oxygen phone manager II. Wonderfully easy to install and intuitive to use. I was using almost all its features within 30 minutes- having spent much time with the other products. OPMII also allows offline editing of phone book/sim etc.

It also allows synchronisation of multiple phones very easily - essential today when each member of a family may have different phones.

While Oxygen PM II must be purchased it is definitley worth it. I recommend it strongly. Some family members have already invested in it. I was sorry I did not discover it sooner.

It is way ahead of the "competition".

Right, I Am Not Going To Get Into All The Technica

Right, i am not going to get into all the technical details about this software as it does everything you will need to do with your Nokia phone.

I spent a LOT of time looking for a good utility software for my phone, through all the manufacturers releases (which never seemed to do everything in one package!) and finally came across Oxygen Phone Manager II and i have never looked back.

I work quite a bit on my PC for work reasons and there is nothing better than the SMS services that OPM offers you, set the software so that it minimises to the system tray (no issues with management looking over your shoulder or getting in the way of anything you are working on) and if you get a message it shows up an icon replacing the standard OPM one, with your phone on silent it will not disturb anyone else in your office either!

the backup facility is a lifesaver, after all, we have all lost our phone at some point huh? and once you have informed Oxygen that you are changing phones they will send you a new code to allow it to work with the software and BANG! you can upload all the numbers and messages etc that were on your previous phone (exactly what you want eh?).

I have heard that people have had issues with their SIM being wiped with this software, Oxygen software were the first to comment on this as using a code created by a 'keygen' or suchlike could result in this happening, they amended the code so that this wouldn't happen to inconvenience people who were wrongly trying to get a 'free' version of their software (as far as i can tell, they have improved security now so that this cannot be done again)

I will give this software and the company that created it a full score as they really do deserve it, it has been an ideal solution for me a number of times.

Great stuff, i'm downloading the free version now, I was looking for a good software package that would show on my pc when i had messages etc... gald i found this!!! may buy the full version soon as i wont be able to backup my phone otherwise

Oxygen is just too expensive (considering PC Suite is free, and others are half the price). I wasn't even allowed to use it with my partner's phone as well without them expecting even more money. At least other software lets you use more than one phone without hassle. Oxygen also managed to crash a number of my friend's phones, so I decided to look elswhere as that was the last straw.

I Went For Oxygen Phone Manager Ii Software Becaus

I went for Oxygen Phone Manager II software because it seemed to have everything- SMS, Phonebook management, logos, ringtones etc, but then it took ages to connect properly to my phone, managed to crash several times and wiped by SMS. Although other software might not have it all- LogoManager, MobiMB etc, they all seem to be less problematic.
