Merlin Super Nova Bow

I have a 2004 SuperNova. It is by far the smoothest drawing, well-made, best-looking bow I've ever seen and used.

The original recurved limbs were coated with embossed decorateive rubber. The cosmetic effect was beautiful but the rubber coating caused the laminated glass limbs to soften after about 2 - 3 thousand shots and lost their shape.

I sent it back to the dealer (Pinwheel Archery, NH) and Merlin replaced the limbs per warranty. The original recurve limbs were no longer available but the straight limbs Merlin provided have a holographic logo and look very sharp.

As for performance, those limbs were replaced in 2006 and it's now 2009. I shoot this bow about 300 days out of every year and it is now looking and shooting as good as the day I got it.

The SuperNova is a truly fine bow..

My first "proper" bow! beautiful to use indoors & out, not as fast as the competition but was never intended to be. tried a dozen bows since the supernova but none felt as good, BUT . . . . then my limbs went & the love affair was over, rang merlin for help & got none, (sorry dont make limbs for them anymore . . er can you suggest a replacement set of limbs then? . . . no sorry. ) oh well, plenty more fish in the sea & mine came in the form of a new hoyt ultratech. faster, better looking, sexier, only drawback was everyone else had one. so sorry merlin, if your limbs were up to the job you wouldnt need to offer replacements but because their not . . .. you do . . . . but you dont! so bye bye & i wanted so much to buy british as well!

Theres is a big choice of top line archery bows, but the british built

Merlin Super Nova is my favorite. Excellent finish and wonderful accuracy. Merlin have got it right with this one, and I will be a customer for life!
