I thoroughly enjoyed the cinema and the overall experience. However, I was taken aback by the food prices; they were quite shocking! I had expected a more substantial portion of popcorn for the price of 7.5 pounds, but what I received was merely a small paper bag. While I understand that businesses need to make a profit, this pricing feels like pure greed and a lack of respect for customers. I've decided that I'll be avoiding this cinema in the future due to what I perceive as unethical business practices.

Went to cinema and 2 members of staff on till, 1 person in front of me but took 10 mins to get served as the girl on the till had to serve at ice cream counter as well. Plenty of other staff stood round not doing anything. Another person did come to serve on till but everyone who was at back off queue piled to front of this till. Not impressed and won’t be rushing back. There should be people who are on food counters so people who just want food can go there separately after buying tickets to reduce waiting time.

Recently visited Cineworld at Shaw ridge Swindon. Unfortunately our cinema experience was totally ruined due to the audio level being excessively high. Even with ear plugs the level was still penetrating and uncomfortable. It was particularly bad during the ads and pre-views. It is a great shame that cinemas in general these days persist with this highly penetrating {and possibly dangerous} level of audio. It was never like this in the days of audio on film. In future we will wait until the videos are released, and view in the comfort of our own home.

Spent 2 hours watching 3 quarters of a film because someones head was in the way. I mean you could make each row high enough so this doesnt happen. 1st time to cinema in ten years, i guess it will be another ten. It cant just be me that this happened to. Oh, if you read this cineworld; Plainly put, if you want more business, try watching a film in your own uncomfortable seats with someones head bobbing about. Not fun.

cineworld have recently introduced a seating plan scheme where you can choose your seating. if you don't choose it they automatically give you one which is actually incredibly annoying especially if the screen is almost empty. who wants to sit next to strangers when there are a hundred other seats to choose from? yes i could sit somewhere else but ive heard that people have started complaining to staff saying that someone is in their seat. and the staff are always checking in, counting body numbers which i find really distracting! i cant concentrate on the film until they leave. on top of that, now i believe they are checking you are in the correct seat as i saw one of them come in with an ipad just the other day! what a cheek! there are posters on the wall advertising this new 'choose your seats' scheme as if its a good thing! it is actually a disgrace! and i shall be going less often now. hope they're bloody happy!

I took my daughter and her two friends to see Monsters University in 2D and from buying the tickets we only had 15 minutes to buy sweets and sit down. The staff were friendly and polite. The building was clean and there were plenty of parking spaces. My problem was the overpriced sweets and popcorn. Can Cineworld please justify why a packet of sweets cost £3.00 when I can buy the same ones for £1.00 elsewhere. It took a while to discover where the prices were for the popcorn and drinks as they weren't displayed where everyone could see and the writing was small. I understand you have costs to cover but this really is Greedy!! of Cineworld. Next time I don't care about your policy I WILL BRING MY OWN!!!!

I took my 16 yr old daughter and wife to see the new superman film at the imax in Ipswich. Both my daughter and I had to watch the film at times with our fingers in our our ears, my wife could just bear it. It completely ruined the film for us. Whilst the 3d is better than normal you soon get accustomed to the effect. I am writing this the morning after and my ears are still ringing. After the film I complained to the manager who said " not our problem mate! Cineworld is a separate company" the guy was clearly a complete jobsworth. Its now the morning after and my ears are still ringing Adam Reason Ipswich

I can't believe that Cineworld gets away with their ridiculous ticket and confectionery prices but don't have a good friendly service on offer, OR, clean toilets and screens!! The chairs are old and horrible with chunks of foam missing, the sound often disappears in certain films, there's always popcorn on your seat when you go to sit down. EURGH! Sort it out Cineworld! Nearly £15 to see a film in the imax, what a disgrace.

Southampton - Batman:TDKR. Way too loud. I'm a drummer but my 44 year old ears were hurting afterwards. My daughters were hurting too. With the volume at such high levels you missed out on the subtleties. The picture had poor contrast so dark scenes (this is Batman so there are lots) were hard to watch and determine. Picture was not sharp and was a poor representation of what digital cinema is about.

Went to see the Avengers Assemble film today at the Brighton marina Cineworld complex. First thing I noticed was the volume was incredibly loud, it seemed much to loud compared to my previous visit in 2009 when I went to see Star trek. Additionally, the screen itself seemed dark and grainy, the darker scenes in the film were hard to make out Was a bit of a dissapointment

I went to Cineworld in Wakefield for my birthday and it cost a fortune. I decided to get a pick n mix ad a large coke and this nearly cost £10. What a rip off! I enjoyed the film but the customer serice could be improved by employing more staff at peak times.

Today, my mum, my friends and I travelled a 40 minute journey to Cineworld Chichester to see 21 Jump Street. We were all excited, ready to watch the film; tickets bought. We went to go through, only to be asked if we had ID. I thought it was some kind of joke. No where on the website, in the cinema or the ticket machine does it state that you need ID to get into a 15, seeing as I'm 17 I was deeply offended. The ticket man was rather rude about the situation and treated us as if it was obvious we needed ID! From now on we will be taking our custom elsewhere!

Cineworld cinemas are the uk's biggest chain of cinemas and because it is the only GOOD cinema where I live,I like going there a lot. Good things: -Audiotorium walls are fited with a kind of thick wallpaper which reduces echo's so it is very quiet. -A very wide choice of refreshments which are all delicious. Bad things: -Staff are just complete idiots -When its crowded, the queue's are just horrendous,as there is hardly any staff at the box office. and you just cant move any part of yuor body because its just so busy. -You have to pay 80P for 3D glasses which dont ake the film 3D at all,in fact it just makes the film dark. -Refreshment and ticket prices:appaling -Toilets were absolutely filthy. -Picture quality looks like the film roll is covered in soil. I think cineworld could be so much better if it just did a big survey asking customers what they like and don't like about them. I also think they should make there cinemas a little more glitzy and glamourous, and most of all clean.

Firstly I am very disappointed at the range of movies shown at our local cineworld. Having initially taken out the unlimited card due to the closeness of the cinema to our house, quite often if we want to see a Bollywood, foreign or slightly niche movie we have to travel an extra 30 miles each way to a different cinema to see it. Most of these films that aren't shown coincidently do have poster advertisements at our local cineworld. There are 9 screens so it baffles me why they will have the same film on in 3 of those at the same time and completely miss showing certain other movies. They could use the excuse that there's no demand for certain movies - if it wasn't for the fact that me and my husband have quite often been sat in the screening as the only people there for some of the bigger movies while on the odd occasion when they have shown Bollywood films, they have always been packed. (I think the last time they showed one in Northampton was around January 2010.) When they do on the odd occasion show non-mainstream movies, they keep them on for about 3 days to a week meaning that if you don't have time in one week to go then you miss it and again have to travel to a different cinema if you really want to see it. The booking for unlimited card holders is also bad. As you are unable to book in advance, if you want to see a 'newer' movie you have to get in really early on the morning to stand any chance of getting a ticket. On a couple of occasions we have driven to the cinema 30 miles away, stood in a queue for over half an hour only to be told that there are no tickets left for the film we wanted to see in two hours time.(Should I have also booked a morning off work and added 60 miles onto the journey to pick the tickets up first thing in the morning?!) I think not!! Even more recently there have been a couple of occasions where we have to sit and watch an advert for a particular movie for about 4 weeks before the release date only to find out they won't be showing it anyway. Back to the adverts, is it really necessary to have 15 minutes of 'normal' adverts prior to the next 15 minutes of 'new movie' trailers on every occasion?! The 3D situation is a joke! certain movies ie Fright Night 3D most recently are only shown in 3D so regardless of having the unlimited card, you still end up having to pay extra to see certain movies. At our local cinema, the quality of some of the screens is appalling. From Curtain over the top section of the screen and lines throughout the movie to dodgy crackly sound. And don't even get me started on the fact that we have to take in both a jumper and a coat to sit and watch a film because it is so cold in there, or the price of the refreshments. Sometimes the staff and service can be a bit questionable but given what most of them have to work with, I don't suppose their half bad! On a number of occasions I have messaged the customer services from their website and had to chase for a response. A recent complaint resulted in the offer of two vouchers for combo meals to be sent to me. I decided to accept as I wouldn't really expect much else from them. I am still waiting for these vouchers. They agreed to send these over two months ago. I think someone must be walking them over from head office!! Last moan of the day - promise!! (And also what has prompted this review) Last Wednesday I checked the website for Killer Elite showings. The site stated that there was a showing at 9.20 tonight. I also noted that they were actually also taking the film off today. On an early morning timetable check today to confirm the time, I notice that this particular screening has disappeared and that the last showing is at 3.40pm. Not much difference then. It's not like I work for a living and can't make day time showings is it?! Yet another film we have now missed. Sadly (for us)there are a couple of films coming out in the next few weeks that we really want to see otherwise we'd be cancelling the card today. The required notice will defo be going in very soon! Thanks Cineworld - you're great! - No, Really!!!

I have had an unlimited card since 2003 and for the first time I am considering not renewing for the following reasons:
-The unlimited card does not allow you to pre-book so for blockbuster movies you have to go the cinema really early to ensure a seat. There have been times when I decided to pay online (even if I have a card) to make sure I had a place because I couldn't be there an hour before.
-Even if you have an unlimited card, you get charged a extra fee for 3D movies, not for the glasses (that's another extra..) but the simple fact that it'a s 3D movie! Since a lot of movie released these days are 3D, I often have to pay this surcharge (£1.50)
- They keep increasing the price of popcorn and drinks (£7.20 for combo!), although the quality has declined significantly in recent years The popcorn is no longer made onsite, coming in giant blue rubbish bags. Given how stale and cold the porcorn is sometimes, I wonder if they outsourced production to China...
- I find that the choice of movies in Central London is not very good, some blockbusters are not even shown at Piccadilly/Haymarket and sometimes I have to go all the way to Canary Wharf to see something,
-The quality of the screens is also getting worse, at the Chelsea/Fulham Rd cinemas there are often damages or stains on the screen, which are very visible when digital movies are presented. Often the movie projection will not be centered properly and white edges are visible or the movie is projected outside the borders of the screen, a bit amateurish for a central London venue, you usually see this in 3rd world countries...
-Different cinemas have different policies regarding the unlimited card, sometimes I wanna go see two movies in a row but the cashier will refuse, saying I have to come back for the 2nd ticket. Sometimes they will accept to issue both tickets at the same time. Once I was refused the 2nd ticket, and when I got back to the till after the 1st movie to get my ticket for the 2nd one, it was sold out!
-The Cineworld in West India Quay, located above a gym, often reeks of chlorine from the pool below. It is often frequented by rowdy local youths drinking alcohol that no other cinemas would let in.

Everything was good apart from a rubbish staff that upset one of my friend by asked us to leave the cinema forcefully while we done nothing wrong. I know it was wrong that my friend were unhappy about the situation and swore about it but while we tried to calm her down, the stupid ticket guy ask us to leave with threaten word, i would like to go back to cinema again but only if the idiot not works there anymore

It states on the website that proof of age will be required for 12A, 15 and 18 films.
Have you never been to the cinema?
