Nokia 6170

This is like most Nokias, easy to use, durable, nice looking phone, the camera is not high quality but its ok for simple snaps and the reception on this phone is better than any phone i've ever had!!

The Nokia 6170 is a good mobile phone. Good colour screen and good camera. Lots of other things are good too like messaging and mini-display. Overall I think the Nokia 6170 would be a great phone if it had those few extra things!

I love the Nokia 6170 mobile phone for a number of reasons. It's really user-friendly: you can create a list of your 'favourite' functions (eg. write a new message); the keypad is just the right size for texting; the computer is very fast - it's not clogged up by loads of overly-fancy graphics, so you can quickly move between menus; there are shortcuts to the most handy things: phone book, camera, new message. The camera is pretty decent for a phone camera, and you can upload pics to your computer. However, I would mention that it has a very small memory capacity for photo's: at the highest quality it can only store 12, which is quite frustrating. But, to be honest, phone's aren't cameras. It's a really handy size to go in your pocket, bag - where ever, but not get lost because it's too tiny! And to top it all off, I think it's beautiful; how many phones are made of stainless steel?

The Nokia 6170 is a very nice mobile phone. I would recommend it for anybody who likes modern looking styles, but don't expect much from the media side. It has got the features, just not the storage space to facilitate them!

Large screen fit 6 lines of text message on, with nice clean font which is very easy on the eye - and you can reduce the font size to get even more lines of text on the display, but it's really quite small and difficult to read, the 6 lines as standard are enough for me.

Plenty of polyphonic tomes to choose from, but it's not a toy for me so I couldn't care how many it has.. The photo quality is suprisingly good..

The Nokia 6170 is one of the best small phones I have seen and tried for a long long time. (See Good Points).

Well now as for this phone there are some good features like SMS counter "counts sent and received messages". Pictures are very good, you have a zoom on this to, but picture gets very bad when zooming to close. Video has come up market now you can record more than 10 seconds. No MMC card, so you are stuck with what memory you have on it. Can set pictures to phonebook and picture will show when they call you. Also when in a call, you have a menu to record the call, very good when your mates say I didn't say that and you have them on your phone. Battery is much thinner, than the ones used in the Nokia 6600, I find the battery is not as good as my nokia 6600, but the 6170 has got 2 colour screens to power up. The screen savers are not that well, as you cannot find these for this phone yet. No MP3, Bluetooth, radio, MMC, advanced features to this phone. I like the style of this phone, Why didn't nokia make this phone with 3G or even symbian 60 OS. I wouldn't get yourself in a 12 month contract with this phone if you're a feature freak, like I am. I find that if you have the feature answer when flip is opened is not good, as you open it and you get a loud ring in your ear, because I'm very quick at flipping and putting to my ear, maybe something nokia should think about this next time.
